EDITED TO NOTE: previous reviewers complained that the hours arent listed on their website. Those reviews are over 5 years old, but the hours are definitely on their website and have been for at least a few years. The shop was in the process of moving several years ago, and their website might have been in transition as well at the time (which would explain why they hadnt posted their hours, then). Ive been a customer of North Haven Bike for almost two decades. I bought my current Raleigh hybrid and my husbands Peugeot 12-speed almost ten years ago. Because I keep my bike garaged when not in use, and I dont abuse it, it rarely needs anything but the absolute minimal maintenance. But on the rare occasion that I do bring it in, the crew is happy to assist, efficient, courteous, and their prices are reasonable. I just got back from there a few minutes ago, thinking I needed new tires. My husband tossed it in the back of the pickup and drove us the 6 blocks from my house. Instead of taking advantage of my assumption and "giving the customer what she wants" by selling me a new pair of tires, he told me he doesnt see any significant dry rot, just a little aging, and if it was him, hed just keep riding it this season and top off the air pressure every few weeks as needed. No charge for the advice, and I rode my bike home. Honest folks offering honest service. They also have lots of bicycle accessories, from riding gloves and helmets and other safety equipment, to baskets and hand-pumps and a variety of locks.

They are friendly and offer reasonably priced repairs. I brought my mtb there last year for a tuneup and crank repair. They sold me a used (similiar) crank arm to replace mine which was damaged. I was very happy and decided to use them again. More recently, I brought my bike in for new tires, and a few minor problems. My rear wheel had a wobble, which I assumed to be from a non-true wheel or at worst a damaged hub. I asked the tech to look at it and true the wheel / determine if the hub / wheel needed to be replaced. When I recieved the bike back, the tech told me that the hub was loose and the wheel was fine. I was pleasantly surprised, at least until I rode the bike and found the problem wasnt fixed. I brought the bike to another shop in NH, where they quickly trued the wheel, adjusted the hubs, and tightened the loose casette (which was causing all the noise). North Haven Bike did not over charge me for a service, but I was unhappy with the lackluster repair they provided. It could probably be chalked up to someone wanting to head home at the end of the day. Overall its a decent place with fair prices, but unforunately the other shops quick and cheap repair of my problem has won my business over for now.

I had an awesome experience at North Haven Bike and I would recommend them to anyone. I was recently shopping for a baby bike seat so I can take my 1 year old son on rides with me. I visited two other bike shops before checking out North Haven Bike. My previous experiences led me to believe bike shops can be pricey and the staff can be intimidating. This certainly was not the case at North Haven Bike. Joe and Tim were very helpful in helping me select a baby bike seat. Tim was extremely patient and caring when fitting my squirmy 1 year old for his baby helmet. I highly recommend this shop if you are a new parent and want to get your child on a bike. They actually charged me LESS than the prices marked on the bike seat and helmet. They also installed the bike seat on my bike for free and explained the safest way to put my little one in the seat. I ended up getting my bike and my wife’s bike tuned-up there too and we have been happy with the results. I can’t possibly say enough about the level of service I received from North Haven Bike. Check them out!

They are considerate, thorough, reasonably priced and they know their stuff. They have never been pushy, or try to sell you extra stuff. Although I am a recreational rider, North Haven bike has never treated me anything less than as an "important customer." They are respectful and concern about my needs. They actually listen, would you believe that! I have used other repair shops in the past and they are the best out of all of them, and they get your bicycle back to you quickly. Thumbs up!
