Went in there twice to order a $5K bike. First time, we worked on what I wanted. He was supposed to get back to me with price and availability. Never got back to me. I had to go back in there. He said he was sick for a day and this and that. So I ended up working with someone else, the guy that seems to do the ordering and pricing. He said he would get back to me within a couple days with pricing and availability. Nothing. I finally went online, found the frame and am going to build it myself. I want to find and support a good local bike shop. I feel bad going online and not helping the local guys. But these guys are not making it easy. I go to them for customer service and help, but they seem to have problems doing that. The reason they got two stars instead of one is because I do like them and the shop, but they need to get their act together and get back to people. Be reasonable and tell me we are really busy and can’t get a price this week. I’d be ok with that instead of no answer at all. Now I wasted two weeks where I have no bike and won’t have it in time for a biking trip I was planning.

Central Wheel and all of the staff and mechanics make you feel like youre the most important customer when you are there. Central Wheel has been my go-to bike shop for many years. And as my cycling needs increased to where I found myself training for my first Ironman Triathlon, the staff at the shopped really stepped up to make sure I was as prepared as possible. I finished my race with a smile on face and absolutely no bike issues. I trust them with all of the bikes in my family and highly recommend them to anyone from a new cyclist all the way up to those racing and competing in endurance events.

I live down the road from Central Wheel and have been passing it since the mid 90s and was never into cycling. When I decided to get a bicycle 3 years ago they were my first choice, being so close to my home. I havent regretted the decision since. Ive bought 4 bikes from them and have not any problems with the build or the bikes. Lee is the best fit-man this side of the Atlantic, the mechanics have always been spot on, and Jeff has been very accommodating to my financial situation. With their help and motivation I plan to start racing this year. 5 stars for sure.

I had a broken grip shifter and stopped by expecting to leave my bike to be repaired. The shop had a replacement on hand and installed it for me as I waited so I could get back on the road. Prices were very reasonable and the service was friendly, fast, and very customer oriented. They have a good selection of bikes and gear as well. Ive just found the bike shop Ive always been looking for. Happy days!

Central Wheel helped us out at the Winding Trails off-road triathlon last night - We didnt bring the clipless pedal shoes, and they let us borrow and swapped out the clipless pedals to platform pedals in time to make the race. Thanks guys!

Just moved to the area and dropped off a complex project for Dave to wrangle and he did so with perfection. So glad to have this solid shop in my neighborhood and happy to throw my money their way whenever I can.

Lots of great bikes and a cool feel to the shop, but, I spent 20 mins in the shop and no one offered to help me. I counted 3 different people working that day and none of them offered to help me once, so I left.

Lee, Bones, Jeff, and the rest of the gang at Central Wheel make this an exceptional place. They see the shop as a place to celebrate biking, not just to sell gear. Its more of an association than a shop.

This shop charges higher prices than other shops since they have a unique location. Newington has a decently priced bike shop.
