I bought a rear rack for my bike off Amazon, but couldnt mount it right away because my bike lacked pre-drilled holes on the seat tube. I went into this store looking for a monostay adapter or a couple p-clamps and a taillight to put on the back of the rack. Before hearing anything about my bike, the man I talked to was telling me he needed to make a custom fitting for it to work. Now I know that wasnt true, so I prodded a bit and he showed me the tiny p-clamps they had for the smaller tubes after your bike forks around the wheel, and the aluminum pieces they bend around your seat post. Hardly rocket science, but its "custom," so I didnt bother to ask what he was charging. I hated his attitude so much, I took my leave, went to the next door Walmart and picked up the taillight there. I clipped it on the rack and used the lights post mount to attach the rack arms to my seat post. I just needed a longer screw, which I got from Home Depot at ~40 cents. Dont waste your time here. Terrible attitude and obvious ripoff.

A recent trip to Carl Hart confirmed - to my horror - that what I thought could have been a scratch in the paint of my 4 yr old carbon fiber Cannondale was actually a CRACK! Having had a previous disaster with another brand purchased from another shop, I was prepared for the worst. Could not have been more wrong: i dropped my bike off on Saturday afternoon, was asked for my sales receipt on Monday and was told on Tuesday that I would be receiving a new (2015) comparable model frame and fork from Cannondale and that this was being shipped out shortly. Continuing to hold my breath - a lot can go wrong in a situation like this - I was told the following Monday that I should be good to go on Tuesday. 10 days after dropping my bike off, I picked up the "new" bike on Tuesday evening and it was even better than expected. HUGE KUDOS go to Darren, Brian and the Carl Hart Team and to CANNONDALE for standing behind their product way better than another major brand (starts with S).

I went in and right away I got a shady feeling from the guy that dealt with me. He pushed me into buying a part that I wasnt sure would fit, so after going home and figuring out that it didnt fit I had to drive back. On my return he was very pushy and basically pushed me into buying a brand new chain. Then I had to go back a third time because the brake cable he sold me was way too short. All in all I feel very upset because I was DEFINITELY ripped off and the man was terribly unprofessional. Will never go back to this shop and I suggest you take your business elsewhere.

I have bought several high end bikes at Carl Hart and also have them serviced there and ALWAYS completely satisfied! Their prices for bikes and parts are competitive if not lower than other shops and their knowledge of higher level components is outstanding, i changed bike shops years ago due to that fact. I feel completely comfortable with their opinions, they know everything about mountain and road bikes-- yes high end bikes and parts are expensive and customers need to realize this but i will purchase or bring my bikes no where else except Carl Hart.

Im not usually a bitter customer but this place is trully a rip off. Way over priced, always pushing you for unecessary upgrades, full of bad advice, and to top it off they are extreamly arrogant. Bought a $1200 bike from them and it wasnt even adjusted correctly. After bringing it back to them 3 times because of rubbing brakes they told me the bike just had to brake in and the rubbing would go away. Brought it to another local shop for a tune up and would you look at that, brakes stopped rubbing. I could go on and on, but you get the point...

Fred, Darren and Brian are a great group of guys, purchased two full suspension trek mountain bikes from them in the past 3 years (fuel ex 8 and superfly 100), good prices, great service and just generally good guys to talk to about biking, components ect. Theyre my go to bike shop, and have been for the past few years, and will continue to be in the future. Big thanks to Brian for taking the time to make sure the geometry on my new bike and sizing was what I needed, youre an asset to the company, thanks again.

Got my first ever bike from this place yesterday. Very informative guys here and didnt pressure me to buy anything I didnt need. I had some worries about my weight and the bike I wanted but I came out with a nice MTB that I loved and was fairly priced. I was really annoyed that I couldnt just take my bike with me the minute I got it but I did some research and this is normal since they have to assemble your bikes, so I dont fault them at all. I loved the place and will be going back to get some gear soon.

My husband and I both bought bikes from Carl Hart and we loved our experience. We are occasional cyclists and felt very comfortable with the bikes we bought. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and professional. It is a very friendly environment and is great if you are looking for anything from a beach cruiser to a tri bike. We have sent friends and family to the store and everybody has been happy. Its worth the travel if you are not local.

Brian & Darren really know their bicycle stuff. The Lighthouse Mission takes under-privilaged teens & children mountain biking across Long Island and the kids can be really hard on the bicycles. Brian can somehow put them back together. Their prices are very fair and can turn around repairs and special orders quickly. These guys are Legit & honest. A quality that is hard to find these days. God bless them. - pastor jim

Stopped in to find some new grips for my sons 12" bike. They had exactly the grips we needed, and within a few minutes they were installed and ready to go. Great staff, friendly service, well worth the trip. Much easier than the guess and check approach wed have to take to find just the right part online.

Writing this review because I really liked the service I had at Carl Hart Bicycles. Made the upgrade from some a entry level hybrid diamondback into a real road bike. Service and information was top notch. Would recommend to anyone looking to take up this hobby.

First class professional shop. Fred , Darren, and staff are knowledgable, helpful, and honest. They stand behind what they sell and service. 20 years and many bikes later would not consider switching.
