I give this store two stars because the employees typically try to be helpful and do their best, so I want them to get some credit. I dont think their management is very good. Ive used this store many times, only because the pricing is hard to beat. I most often leave there aggravated, as the stock is hit and miss, the products are often fairly well beat up, and the store layout is horrible. For example, the trim is in the rear most corner of the facility. After having to sort through what is usually a messy pile of mismatched products, trying to navigate a cart full of 16 foot baseboard through those cramped and disheveled aisles will test anyones patience. My last shopping trip was almost two weeks ago and not being able to get all the doors I needed, I paid for several doors in advance so I would get the first batch in. My most recent call was yesterday to see if the latest truck had doors on it and was told, "No, and we dont get another truck until next week." I called the Pensacola store and found they had all the doors I needed, so I headed that way. What an amazing surprise it was to walk into the Pensacola Surplus Warehouse. Neat, very well organized, and very well stocked. They had even pulled and carted the doors I asked about when I called, so all I had to do when I arrived was pay for them. The employees were super and treated me very well. My first point of this post is that I dont believe my wait for doors is at all a factor of the delivery process, but is instead a factor of stock management at the Fort Walton Beach store. How is it Pensacola had numerous doors in stock, but for two weeks Fort Walton Beach hasnt had any? My second point is, if youre like me and find the FWB store a necessary evil just to get the good prices, spend the gas money and time to go to Pensacola instead. After my experience today at the Pensacola store, Im done with FWB.

STAY AWAY! We ordered almost $2,000 worth of custom cabinets, ordered what was on DISPLAY. The cabinets we received were not made by the same manufacturer and were 1/2" plywood instead of 3/4, and were cut in such a way that we cannot use them. The policy here is that you pay for custom orders ahead of time, and sale are FINAL. SO, if the work is crappy, or the item is substandard, or not even the same as what you ordered based upon their own display, their policy is "Oh, Well...too bad..." We are LIVID. They made no effort to say they would contact the manufacturer and make things right, or refund us because what we ordered is not what we ended up with. I plan to contact EVERY builder in our area and warn them about these scheisters.

Had been using gatlin lumber before I discovered these people, I didnt know any better. I love this place! Was able to get nearly twice the merchandise at half the price and the quality was much better than gatlins. These people actually smile and seem like they want to help you.
