I cant believe what just happened to me at the store.... I spent my money there for breakfast and lunch aaaand sometimes dinner. That makes it roughly $400 per month. Since the day they opened their location in Downtown crossing in Boston I have been getting oatmeal for breakfast. I CLEARLY REMEMBER asking if I can put some of their fresh berries i my oatmeal and They said: "Yes, maam its not a problem ". So ever since I have been getting my breakfast same way and paying the amount of $5.34 EVERY DAY! SO this morning I did the excact same thing and while I was putting the berries in the container the security come up to me with an extremely rude manner telling me "you should put the berries in a separate container not in thsi one you cant do that!!!" I think I mostly got offended by the way he approached me...so rude with no respect for me. I DO REALLY SPEND A LOT IN THERE.....NOT anymore. And I know that losing one customer wont hurt your business but I just wanted to make sure people know about what money eating machine this is. Kristina

Extremely rude manager, my boyfriend and I were buying groceries and we decided to buy some beer and she told me he couldnt purchase it unless I show my ID, he had his ID, I left my ID at home this day. I get the laws and she was definitely in the right but the way she acted was just extremely uncalled for She then made a huge scene and literally grabbed it from our hands and even her workers were shocked. I will not be coming back and I will be sure to tell everyone about this. ILL GET MY LIQUOR SOMEWHERE ELSE! She has a horrible attitude and even worse customer service. The adult thing to do in this situation is to calmly explain to us they she cant sell it to us not grab it out of or hands and make a scene.

I have mixed feelings about Roche Bros. I was in Boston for a work trip and needed a quick lunch stop near Boston Common. Roche Brothers came top rated thanks to Yelp. Its a large buffet style grab-n-go place with a salad bar, hot food bar, and even a warm chocolate chip cookie station (one extra star just for that!). They have plenty of beverage options. However, during lunch, the space is not set up well for foot traffic making it a stressful experience trying to balance getting your food (try their orange chicken!) and making it to the check out line. They weight your food so expect to pay $20+ for lunch. There are a few indoor seats and a few outdoor tables.

After going 8 times at 9.00am for breakfast, when I asked the person in charge they said to me that the breakfast its over...yes at 9.00am, they dont even have a schedule like their competitor have where they post breakfast, lunch and dinner hours, it seems they are not organized at all in that matters. I go to their competitors and they have the breakfast until 11.00am. Another thing is varierity, I understand that breakfast it is always the same, but their dinner and lunch its always the same and not a lot of choices. I decided to write this review since I talked twice to people there and I feel like they didnt even paid attention to what I had to say. Anyways.

This particular store reminds me of Whole Foods. The set-up is similar. I really love the green smoothies they make fresh on-site. Just delicious and so healthy. Its a way better alternative than having a bagel and coffee! A lot healthier! The store is clean; personnels very professional; line goes fast. Its also great that if you work downtown Boston, you can stop at Roche Brothers and pick up a few grocery items before heading home. This was needed so bad! Last, the prices are pretty comparable to a Stop & Shop and they do have sales! Overall, its a great idea. This store will do very well!

A great addition to the Downtown Crossing area, this brand spanking new store offers a great mix of the everyday, and the upscale. There is a quick service area on the Street Level, but the bulk of the store, and a great prepared food area is on the lower level. This floor also offers a direct entrance to the T. The fresh seafood offerings are far above what the average supermarket offers and on this, and several other areas they are on the same level as Whole Foods.

I recently started working Downtown and I was so glad to know that Roche Brothers is in walking distance of my job. I am a vegan and they have great fresh items that I enjoy constantly. The staff is wonderful, they are always so friendly even early in the morning. I agree with some other customers reviews about the prices being a little steep. I look at it like this though, what we pay now for good quality food we wont be paying in hospital bills in the future.

Great selection of all sorts of groceries, beer, and wine. There is an emphasis on quality all around, but the prices are reasonable for what you get. The deli, seafood, and meat counters are particularly impressive for a store of this modest size, as is the cheese selection. The location is extremely convenient if youre near downtown Boston, albeit somewhat difficult to notice. If you commute through Downtown Crossing, stopping by here is a no-brainer.

Roche Bros Boston is a premium yet very expensive supermarket in Downtown Crossing. The selection quality is the next best thing to Whole Foods and the pricing is right up there with them albeit still better than the independent stores youll find in the city. I still find the Star at the Pru is a bit cheaper, and Trader Joes is much cheaper. However, I will still visit them when I need something and Im in the neighborhood, albeit I wont go out of my way.

Very convenient, but a little expensive. Im very happy about the expansion to include a full beer/wine/liquor store. If it wasnt SO convenient for me (right on the way home from work), I probably wouldnt go, but since it is, its definitely worth it for most things. Veggies, snacks and last minute dinners. Meat is hit or miss. When its on sale, its great. The lines sometimes get very long, but they always move quickly. Also, they accept Android Pay!

Kinda odd internet download AND upload speeds are 2Mbps... Way better alternative to McDonalds or dunks while going thru here. Im eating chicken lo mein in the café for 6 bucks and it was going to be either this or the salmon. Stumbled on this place going thru the subway downtown, didnt expect all this. They have everything here, pretty awesome. Conspicuously large selection of cheeses. Its kinda suspect.

The floral department went above and beyond to help me get the right flower arrangements and the person helping me was such a nice and friendly person to work with. It took a lot of stress out of my work event. Beyond that, another staff member even helped me carry my flowers a few blocks over to my office! I was so impressed and will definitely be back for future events and recommend them highly.

Great experience, friendly staff. Love the location thats directly t accessible which i think will come in handy during the winter when Ill be avoiding the cold, and need to pick up a few things before heading home. Also enjoy the hot bar. Prices are a little high compared to the larger chain markets just outside of the city, but you cant beat the convenience.
