I wish I could rate it better, as I shop here a couple times a week at least, but in virtually every way, it falls short of where it needs to be, and in one way, is critically poor. Bottom line: Shop here only if you need to. It is understaffed. The lines can get long and slow. The self check registers are slow and fail regularly. The staff is generally unfriendly. There are smiling faces from time to time, but most of the shift managers seem more interested in getting to their next break or getting out of there. Its understocked. Not on everything, but good produce goes too quickly, their bakery is wildly inconsistent on supply, and once something is sold out, it remains that way for a while. Its overpriced. I know theyre following corporate pricing, but for that same standard they are offering lower quality. But most offending are the private security guards hired to watch the registers (theft is constant at this location). They are often rude, make audible chauvinistic comments, and rarely seem to be paying attention to what theyre meant to. My complaints to the management about inappropriate comments toward women have gone seemingly unaddressed. The security guards also have the habit of locking the doors well before the posted closing time. Maybe it will improve.

A last resort for a stop & shop. Not the best layout, no help if you needed it and barely any cashiers at the registers. There are more self checkouts than people doing the checkout for you, and a security guard is always keeping an eye out... which is strange for a Stop & Shop to begin with, But even more so he seemed to give me a look like "what you doing here"... Does it really matter if Im the only white guy in the store? Or does it mean Im trouble because Im the only white guy in the store..? Maybe it means im in trouble Lol. I dont know, Im not racist so wouldnt & didnt bother me but I only realized it when I noticed his eyes were still focused on me so I looked around to figure out why that may be & noticed I was one and only dont know why that is... him just being focused on me was just weird or that security even had to be there at all times is just weird! But overall, it can be a last resort for any grocery store. Ive even picked mini marts over having to go there simply because check out takes forever & even when the 6 people in front of you have under 4 items each, Like it was today! Dr. Dre should had been playing on the stores music stereo system... that wouldve changed this from a 1 star to a 4 star.

This is the worst Stop and Shop I have ever been to. The employees are frequently rude and lazy (though there are exceptions). The bicycle parking is shamefully inadequate, with only one dinky little wheel rack out front that can properly accommodate at most two bicycles. The produce is low quality and highly priced. The last two times I bought Ben and Jerrys ice cream here, it was so freezer burned that it was like a rubbery mess of ice crystals; I dont know how many times it must have been allowed to completely melt and then re-freeze to reach that consistency. On my last visit, the shopping car anti-theft wheel was locked and I had to slide the damn thing around the store while making a horrible screeching noise. There are always long lines at checkout, and if you use the self-checkout registers and happen to scan an item that for some nonsensical reason requires an employee to approve (like grapes, for instance), be prepared to sit there waiting for 10 minutes while watching a huddle of employees chit-chatting with each other 20 feet away. For buying fresh food, you wont spend any more money if you shop smartly at Whole Foods down the street, and you will have a much better experience.

Wish I could put 0 stars. As ghetto as it gets. This is the worst place to shop. Many expired items. Went today and saw 1) meat on sale that was gray and 3 days expired 2) bagels that had mold, big green fuzzy mold covering two bagels in the package which was expired on 5/3 (today is 5/8 thats five days past) 3) they had NO plastic bags at all. So had to put everything in their thin as possible paper bags with no handles (really? How cheap and dumb to forget to order plastic bags and use the crappiest paper bags available). So hauling items like soda bottles and not crushing the eggs was an exciting challenge. Got home and tried a piece of gum I bought... it was crunchy and I then looked at the expiration date - yup, expired last October 2013 (7 months ago!!!!) WHAT A DUMP THIS PLACE IS!!!! (oh yea, the mangos on sale were rotten too. GROSS) its obvious management could care less, I will never return to this place - disgusting. At least the cop (yup, always an inviting to have a cop stationed there) was friendly on my way out.

One of the rougher Stop and Shops in the area. They have a lot of security staff and the store is often crowded, which makes for a claustrophobic experience. But itll meet your grocery shopping needs.

Produce isnt great. Dont buy the deals cause theyre usually going bad. Otherwise, the store is pretty neR and they have some good deals in other subjects.
