They used to very good seller of groceries, but not now. They sell rotten and unhygienic foods. For last couple of times, when I bought wrapped veggies, I discovered damaged, fungus grown and and rotten ones hidden inside the good ones. If you think that I am just saying check the pics I uploaded with this review. You wi get better food for a same price on others stores. Top of all the staffs are disgustingly ignorant. Sometimes they dont have cart, sometime plastic bags. And, the ladies on the check out, my god, so rude. No courtesy at all. If you visit there by chance, examine the each and every food properly. The chances are high that you will get rotten food, and get sick later. I wonder how such a dirty, mismanaged, reckless and completely unhygienic food selling market exists in the US?

Ive been coming here for years, as the store has undergone various ownership (I think) transitions. Many still refer to it as "88" from the original name . It used to be THE place to go for one-shop shopping of Asian foodstuffs. These days there are some excellent competitors in the Quincy area. But Hong Kong Supermarket remains the best Asian Supermarket in the west-of-Boston area, mostly due to its size, variety of foods, and ... the fact that the Asian fast-food complex is in the adjoining space (facing N. Beacon/Commonwealth). Shopping and then eating are a great combination! Be warned though that its always freezing in this place ... wear your winter coat if youre going to be there for more than 5 minutes.

Way overpriced, huge store and didnt have anything I was looking for or only 1 size, type or brand (they had Vietnamese meatballs for phò, but only a small package, one brand, and over $6, and I found them after a man in the back of the store told me they didnt have them.) Also, this is a retail store so its ok if English is a second language but it should be a second language. No one spoke English or was willing to talk to me. So take a pick between rude or unhelpful.

Super 88 is my go-to place for Chinese cooking ingredients. Need sesame oil? 10 pounds of rice? A gallon of soy sauce? Chinese cooking wine? Quality ramen? Tea? Kimchi? Dried mushrooms? Cookwares? The prices are very reasonable. Things they could improve: be wary of the produce and fresh meat and fish. The whole store feels a little grimy. If you like Super 88, check out H-Mart over in Central Square, Cambridge for a cleaner, slightly more upscale asian grocery store.

蔬菜不新鮮,乾貨如東菇藥材等還可以,零食及亞洲罐裝飲品種類好多,比較適合學生或者住在附近但沒有車的人去幫襯,如果有車或者肯花時間的話去 Chinatown 會比較好。

Great selection, particularly for snacks, Asian condiments, seafood, obscure cuts of meat, rice/noodles, kitchenware. Produce is cheap but hit or miss in terms of freshness. The food court out front (and Pikaichi ramen) is always so satisfying and is a nice prelude to grocery shopping.

Pros: its large and its open late! Con: The veggies here arent the freshest - I dont think they get a high turnover.... Its awesome to have a market where I can pick up a few things without going all the way to Chinatown. If I need veggies/meats tho, its worth it to go elsewhere

Its primarily an Asian market with an extensive collection. They also stock fish in the back. The supermarket is attached to a food court with options for ramen, baked goods, etc. In the summer, you can also get fresh coconut water and sugarcane juice. Theres no parking.

This place is a pretty typical Asian market - with the open fish market and the smell that comes with it, to the not-so-clean feel, but cheap prices and specialty items - but with the H-mart in Cambridge, its hard to find a reason to go here instead.

A decent Chinese market. The store can be cleaner, though. Moreover, the space between food shelves are really small. Its only enough for two carts to bypass each other. Sometimes it is really uncomfortable -- especially during the stores busy hour.

Located behind the food court, this market has a nice selection (just see their tea aisle) and great prices. The selection of seafood is also impressive - youll be sure to find things here you cant at a conventional market.

Lots of spoilt food. Rotten fruits are everywhere. You need to be mindful about it. Lots of interesting, really weird food if you are into exotics. Smells chlorine...

The largest Asian grocer in Boston, bar none. And its amazingly cheap. Just be careful with the produce, which can be iffy.

The product quality was bad. The good meat was mixed with rotten meat to cheat the customers of their money.
