Walking into Mings, what you see is what you get. It always smells funny, often has a disheveled/unkempt appearance, and the staff generally doesnt speak english well enough to understand questions and help you. They can be brash, moving about doing their business in a way that makes you think you may not even actually exist, but I honestly have never felt any major disrespect - just assume theyre hella busy. This all being said - often, I am able to find a really kind and sweet worker who will make an effort to help, even if they dont understand. I generally wouldnt even give a place like this a 3rd star EXCEPT that the selection and variety of asian foods is incredible. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Filipino even...they have it by the (no pun intended) boatload. Smallwares, cooking tools, fresh/frozen/refrigerated food, sauces, packaged items, its endless.

This is the quintessential Boston chinatown chinese super market. The produce selection here isnt quite as cheap or wide as C-mart but the seafood selection here is wider and fresher. Lots of dried goods storage as well. I would say this is the largest chinatown chinese grocery in Boston and if you could only go to one, Id recommend Mings. On the weekdays, the parking situation is rough but on the weekend, that lot next door opens up. That cop has been watching this place for literally the past 10+ years as my family has come. As whole foods & apartments get built nearby, Im wondering how the gentrification of boston chinatown will impact Mings

They have very cheap and fresh produce. I definitely prefer Mings to the C-Mart down the street. They also have plenty of great asian snacks, like pocky, chocolate and a bunch of others. They accept card as long as you purchase 10$ or more. One thing that a lot of people dont know is that they have very good lunch specials near the meat and produce section. For like 5$ you can get a rice, 3 choice of other items and a soup! Cant beat that! They have a huge variety of things to choose from too. Defintely recommend.

Ming changed my grocery shopping method for a far better selection and affordability for a family of 6 and two pets! Staff is very helpful and always goes above and beyond to satisfy their customers! A whole hog leg was about 30 pounds and only cost $45!! Also cut to our specifications and the entire shopping cart was over flowing for less than $200!!!

This is probably my favorite asian supermarket in Boston. They have a lot of variety and selections compared to other Asian supermarket. Best to go during the weekday. During the weekend this place tends to get very crowded and over packed. There is parking across the street from the supermarket and there is plenty of street parking.

This place is like Tardis - looks like its a compact store from outside but once you enter there are endless aisles of all kinds of stuff. I found some of the best brands of tea from Taiwan (Justmake, Da Guan) here. Everything seems to be reasonably priced. Extensive variety of produce. Highly recommend this store!

The Band

Smells distinctly Chinatown and the smell perfumes the entire block. They sell dragon fruit and a variety of mini mangos. There is Chinese cookware and utensils for home if you want to Asianify your household. They sell tofu skins for mock duck skin. They take debit cards and theres no minimum.

I love their prices and selection. I needed this Laap seasoning which I could not find at the other asian store I go to, so had to order online. But I found it here and more affordable too. They have a good selection of rice brands as well. Atleast they have the one I wanted. :D

Crowded Chinese market with great selection and attractive prices. Fresh (ie live) seafood/animals available, as well as prepared foods and assortnents. Could use some rennovations, but overall fairly typical market.

The produce isnt really fresh or clean. I saw employee sneezed on the vegetables while placing it on the shelves. Also the personal is extremely rude and not helpful. The whole store stinks and dirty.

Great place for cheap groceries and cooking supplies. As others have said, check the dates on items. Ive personally never seen expired items on the shelf, but some are definitely fresher than others.

Biggest asian market in boston. Great live fish department, with a great selection of chinese imports. Everything from ramen and rice to duck eggs and kitchen supplies. If its asian, its here.

Sanitation is typical of Chinese grocery stores, but prices are great and there is a great selection of hard too find items. There is also a great selection of live seafood.
