For several months I researched and compared the Nissan Rogue, Jeep Cherokee, Honda CRV, and Mazda CX-5. When I finally decided on the Rogue, I did a search on AutoTrader for the trim level and color I wanted. Four cars turned up at dealerships in NC, VA, and MD. Herb Gordon had the best advertised price but I did my due diligence and called the other dealerships to give them a shot at negotiating a better price. As an aside, the time to get the best deal is the last day of the month. In the end, the other dealerships couldn’t come close to the deal Ben Peter was offering at Herb Gordon. And, not only was Ben’s price better, he was also better informed about the new features of the 2014 Rogue. Because I lived in Virginia and was not trading in a vehicle, I had the Rogue delivered. Ben’s honesty at answering my questions over the phone and addressing my concerns put me at ease buying the car sight unseen. Reading about the long waits other buyers endured going through the red tape of buying a car made me smile that I was able to complete the deal from home by phone and email. The only hitch I encountered, which was totally my fault, was that when I got ready to pull the trigger, the car I wanted had been sold. I gave Ben a deadline of 5 days to find another Rogue, DX it, get the car checked over and detailed, find an interest rate that didn’t exceed a fixed percent, and have the car delivered 200 miles away. With such short notice, I’m sure it was a scramble for Ben and his team to meet my demands but they were very accommodating and got it done in 4 days and at a finance rate that exceeded my expectations. The Rogue arrived with a full tank of gas. Knowing there could be delays in processing tags from Maryland to Virginia, Herb Gordon automatically put a 60 day tag on the car instead of a 30 day. When the tags arrived at the dealership, they called me to let me know they were “overnighting” them to me even though I had 3 weeks left on the temp tags. This is not a dealership that cuts corners. I highly recommend Ben Peter and Herb Gordon Nissan.

Our salesman was OK, nothing special. But HGN gets our 5 stars because once we started dealing with Pre Owned Sales Mgr Ramesh Deonarian, our experience went from "ehhh" to "wow." The car wed come to see didnt grab us. But since Ramesh buys vehicles for HGN at auction, he had just received two other 09 Muranos that werent yet on the website. One, a platinum graphite gray SL 4WD really caught our eye. We olged it inside and out, but in the light of day, missed something - modest hail damage to the hood. Ramesh said to us "this vehicle is outstanding, but I need to take care of the hood before it goes home with someone. I need to be happy with it before I expect you to be happy with it." Great approach; the car had to please HIM as much as it had to please us. Long story short, we bought it and took it home, knowing it had a two-days-later appt. with "his guy" to make the hood perfect. Want more great service testimony? How about the dealer General Sales Manager Larry Signora (who we were introduced to, and who lives in our Mntg Cty suburban town) offering to drop off a loaner car and pick up our Murano for its appt.? Wow, and this after wed already said yes to the purchase. All goes well; I get a call from Ramesh mid/late afternoon that his dent guy did "excellent work," but there was this one dent a little too large/needed to see body shop/get fixed/and then have the whole hood repainted. Again, we were impressed with "if it wasnt good enough for Ramesh, it wasnt gonna be good enough for the customer." Yes, it took two extra days, but I had the loaner. Got a call as promised, picked it up, it even had gas in it! Our HGN buying experience was way above the norm for a car dealership, theyll be seeing me again for future vehicle needs.

Herb Gordon reached my highest expectations. After the major snow storm hit Washington, DC my car wouldnt start due to problems with the electronic steering lock module. I spoke with Elaine and Lynn over the phone who invited me to have my car towed to their facility. They even advised me ways to get my car there safely and free of charge. And oh yeah did I mention gave me direct price quote? No gimmicks! Lynn is my favorite service specialist. When I arrived she welcomed me at the door. She invited me and my dad to the dunking donuts and coffee in the waiting room. With Lynns help I was able to discovered that I had an extended warranty plan on my car. Instead of paying almost $1,100, I only had to pay a $100 deductible. In addition, I drove around a rental car for a few hours while my car was being worked on. My dad, who discourages dealership services, said that he would consider Herb Gordon as his first choice. I couldnt leave without giving Lynn a big hug. I will request for her every time I go there from now on. My service at Herb Gordon Nissan was the best interaction that I have had at any dealership. I have worked with other Nissan dealerships before to purchase and service my Altima. I usually leave feeling completely cheated out of my money. While I am informed that dealerships are businesses too, the service staff there made me feel like they were concerned with more than just money. All of them had bright, welcoming and understanding attitudes. They took the time to diagnosis the problem and meet the customers needs. I dont mind paying for the quality customers service that comes at Herb Gordon. Kudos to them for being so consumer-driven!

During the summer of 2015, my wife and I were relying on one vehicle as our primary source of transportation, with an ice cream truck as our secondary source. Due to an oversight on my behalf, the engine locked up on the Chevy Trailblazer, which left us with one vehicle. I was hesitant to submit my information online, regarding pre-approval, but it was necessary. I received a call from Herb Gordan, and was informed I was approved, however, I still was unsure of whether I wanted to purchase a vehicle. Upon arriving at the dealership, the entire staff treated my wife and I as if we were loyalty. In particular, Carl De Shazior, and one of his associates made the process of purchasing a vehicle seem effortless. My wife and I test drove two vehicles, and we really liked both cars. In addition, we felt that having 2 vehicles, would allow me to focus on my business, as well as affording her the opportunity to travel without interruption. Mr. De Shazior and staff worked a deal which allowed us to walk away with a 2015 Chrysler 300M and a 2014 Ford Explorer XLT, of which they both were in immaculate condition with low miles. Needless to say we were extremely happy that they were able to get the deal done, and they have continue to follow-up with us over a year later to ensure that we are still satisfied. I encourage anyone that is in the market for a new and/or used vehicle to choose Herb Gordon Nissan of Silver Spring, in particular Carl De Shazior, before visiting any other dealership in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Oh, did I mention that they fed us also. What a great dealership and staff.
