DO NOT PURCHASE FROM TOYOTA ANTWERPEN!! Do not support this dishonest, unprofessional company! Just read this, it is almost comical. UPDATE 4-4-17: The general manager Don called me about a week ago, and he told me he wanted to help me but that I needed to take down my reviews!! I told him absolutely not! I came into the store so he could look at my car. He told me he would call me back that same day and I never heard back from him and its been over a week now! UPDATE 4-7-17: I am STILL WAITING for someone to return my calls! Ive called and left a message for this Eric guy too. NO RESPONSE. This is seriously a joke you guys. I am pursuing legal action. I purchased a used car in December 2016, on the condition that the buttons around the steering wheel, dash, and door panel would be touched up due to wear. It has been 4 months and no service has been rendered. I have been given the run-around by Brandon, who I purchased the car through. First, he couldnt get a hold of the vendor. Then, the vendor kept not showing up when he said he would. Then, the vendor had a heart attack. They had to find a new one. Then they had to order decals, and the order came in wrong so they had to return them and order the correct ones. He is at this point, no longer responding to my calls or messages. I applied for a loan through a credit union in Baltimore because of the low rate. About a month after I purchased the car, I was still waiting to get either a phone call/letter/email about how to make a payment. I never received one, so I called the Baltimore credit union asking what was going on because I didnt want to miss a payment. Turns out they didnt have a loan with me! What?? I had to wait on hold while they dug around to find that it was still in the application phase because there was missing information. So I called Toyota to ask what the heck was going on and I was also given the run-around by Phil, the super rude finance specialist (he was dropping f-bombs and called my dad "buddy"). He told me the number he was trying to call kept going to voicemail and the voicemail box was full. Funny because my voicemail box works and so does my fathers. He told me that the credit union needed paystubs from us in order to process the loan and I told him forget about it, I will go through my own credit union. A couple of weeks later, I was approved through the credit union I bank with. They called Toyota to finalize the loan and to all of our great astonishment, Toyota told my credit union they had no record of me purchasing a car from them. Haha! So they had to draw up a new buyers contract and my father and I needed to come in to sign it. Our schedules are difficult to manage so about a month passed, and suddenly my father got a phone call from Jeff, I believe he is the director. He threatened to take my father and I to court if we didnt get them the money ASAP. Haha! What the heck is this?? So after all that was settled, the registration was filed incorrectly. I am the Primary owner of this car and my father is my co-signer. The registration was filed as him being the primary and me as the cosigner. I was also given the run-around by Karen in accounting, that it was this way on the buyers contract and we signed it, so it is what it is. I was told months ago that the only reason my father was listed first was for us to get the lowest loan rate with the Baltimore credit union. A few other notes: 1. It took them a month to get me a second key. 2. When I test drove the car one of the tires was flat which I told Brandon about. Turns out he only refilled the air and there was a nail in it that I had to pay to get repaired. 3. They ran our credit 4 times - one of them was for a bank we didnt even recognize!!

I brought my car in on Saturday to have the hybrid battery replaced, and was told it would be ready on Tuesday. Tuesday evening came, and I got a call informing me that due to the Presidents Day holiday, the part wasnt going to be in until Wednesday. Wednesday evening comes, and I havent even gotten a call. I finally get someone live after several transfers without any warning. I call and they inform me that the part STILL isnt in, but that the car will be ready on Thursday. Thursday comes, and again Im left calling THEM for information instead of the other way around. AGAIN I am repeatedly transferred without warning, only to be dumped into a voicemail. When I finally get a call back, it is only for them to tell me that the car is "ready", but has to wait to be test driven one last time tomorrow. They assured me I would get a call at 8:30-9am. Friday morning comes. I am supposed to leave to go on a trip at 3pm. 10am hits and there is no word. I run a couple errands and try to kill time while waiting, since I cant pack the car. I finally call at noon and wait for a call back. 1:30. STILL no call. I call again, and am told the paperwork is being drawn up and will be ready when I get there. I arrive at 1:45, only to get blank looks and 40 minutes of waiting for them to finally pull up the paperwork. I calmly explain my frustrations to the representative, only for him to tell me that this was on the fault of Toyota on a whole, as they werent shipping parts for much of the week. Now not only have I wasted half of the day waiting (and most of the week stressing and readjusting plans for prepping for my trip), but Im given an entirely different story for the delay. I have been lied to, led on, and left out of the loop of communications. The dealership could only promise that they were "sorry" and that they would "talk" to one of the representatives who gave me some of the false information. No formal action to fix the service issue, no discount for half of a week of delays and misinformation...nothing but a limp apology and a promise to simply "talk" to one of the people responsible (which, how can I trust that when I have been repeatedly lied to all week??) My car could last another 400,000 miles because of the quality of their mechanics and I would still NEVER COME BACK HERE. Trust is the most important part of a mechanic, and I felt like I was being lied to and placate falsely at every turn. **Update: It is 2:53pm and I am still here. I didnt even get 15 feet in my car before discovering that in installing my new hybrid battery, they screwed something up and now my window dont work. After another 10 min waiting, I finally get someone to come out and figure out that someone put on the window lock for some godforsaken reason without taking it off. I am going to go home and attempt to not be 2 hours late for my trip now. Goodbye and good riddance, Antwerpen Toyota.

Short story – Great experience buying the car from James. Superb sales person to work with. Long Story – Read on: I was in the market for a small car, to replace my Nissan Sentra. I was planning on replacing Sentra with the new Sentra, so that is where I started my search from. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make a deal with both the Nissan dealerships that I visited. Didn’t want to buy a Honda, because I already own one, so thought why not give Toyota a shot. I never ever owned a Toyota branded vehicle. Owned a Scion tC at one point, but that car does not wear a Toyota badge, instead, wears a youngster oriented Scion badge. So technically, this was my very first Toyota Badged purchase. I have been to Antwerpen Toyota a few times to get my Scion Serviced, so I knew where they were. So I thought why not give them a chance and see what they have to offer. Did a bit of a research on Prius and decided to give the hybrid technology a chance. I checked around another Toyota closer to my work for the prices of Prius, but their prices were a bit higher. Antwerpen was running some special incentives on the MLK weekend so I thought I will go and check them out. I pinged James on the chat and asked him about a particular stock number. He got back to me and told me that they had that one. I asked if he can give me the OTD price over the chat, he came back after 2 - 3 minutes with the OTD price. His price was a bit high, higher than what I wanted to spend, so I dropped by the dealership the next day, since I was pretty set on buying the car over the weekend. Let’s just say that James took every effort to make the deal happen. I had the appraisal of my car from Carmax (Will highly recommend all the potential buyers to try that if you want the best trade-in price, if you haven’t already), so the trade-in price was not much of an issue. The best thing that I liked about James was that he didn’t drag his feet like some of the other sales people do. He was constantly trying to expedite the whole process, which is a major plus for me. I don’t like to sit around at the dealership wondering what the heck is going on. In this case, James constantly tried to take care of everything as they came, and also kept me informed on what was going on. Major points for that. So in short, I am very pleased with the way James processed my purchase. Whenever I am in the market for a car, or if I know any of my friends and/or family members in the market, I will definitely send them to James, no question there.
