Ive been thinking about this place since Ive been there, and I just wouldnt recommend it. I went to have my memory upgraded, having been referred to them by the Mac Store in Annapolis. They upgraded my memory. And I appreciate them for that. But the things they did not do are why I wont go back. 1) When fixing my computer, they had to create a MacMedics account. When I picked it up, not only was the MacMedics account still on my computer, but my computer defaults to that account upon start up. They said it was because they forgot to get my password before I left. True indeed, I could have remembered to give it to them. But the fact that they didnt call or email to get it from me, and left the account on there costs me time and hassle every time I use my computer. Id have to call that laziness. 2) when they upgraded the hard drive, they left it named untitled HD. Why couldnt they take the time to rename it what it was supposed to be named? I guess my biggest issue is this - why wouldnt they take the time to operate in excellence and make my computer as much as possible the same way it was when I dropped it off to them, with the only exception being the service that I paid for. 3) When I came to pick up my computer, the woman who gave it back to me didnt know anything about it. My documents were not where I left them, and she couldnt find them. "They should be...here...no...wait...." The last thing you want is someone giving you back your computer and not knowing where the stuff is that you left on it and need when you get it back. Last thing (and this is a conspiracy theory) when I dropped off my computer, the battery was operating fine. Now...it takes forever to charge and I MIGHT get 90 minutes without it being plugged in. Thats a BIG might. Again, conspiracy theory. But it was fine when I dropped it off. Nevermind they sold me an external at a hyped up price, saying there was a shortage in Japan (or Taiwan.) I should have done my research, its online for at LEAST $40 less. Many times much less. To the person that will defensively reply: all of these statements are true and fair.

I went to Apple recently and was informed I needed more ram and to update my operating system. When I updated my operating system, I lost the ability to use my Quicken. I was told by Apple to get both my Quicken through Quicken and ram through a certified Apple dealer. They referred me to Mac Medics for the purchase of the ram. I went through hours on my own attempting to get an updated version of Quicken on the computer and talking to people in India, which was a total waste of time and nothing resolved. In the meantime, I called Mac Medics and ordered additional ram. When I went to get the ram installed, I mentioned to Chris at Mac Medics I was having difficulty reestablishing an updated version of Quicken on my computer. He immediately set up my computer, guided me to the Quicken site and found the version I needed to purchase. I paid online and downloaded the correct version right in the store. Hurray!! Chris made it so very easy for me. He worked with me for 15 minutes updating and cleaning up old files in my computer. He then took the computer and installed my additional ram. After the installation, Chris demonstrated to me that it was all done correctly, made sure Quicken was up and running and we were done!!! What a wonderful experience. I was not charged by Chris for his time for that invaluable assistance. I also found out that they refurbish Apple computers for sale and, in addition, sell all Apple products except the iphone at their store. I will return later this year and have Chris work with me to purchase the right laptop for me rather than going to an overcrowded Apple store. I know I will be sold the laptop that suits me best and their prices are the same as Apple. I highly recommend Mac Medics for all of your Apple needs. They are terrific. It is obvious they care about their customers and they are experts regarding Apple products. Thank you, Chris, again for all of your assistance with my computer. Life is good!!!!

I buy Apple products because of their design, features, and overall awesome service delivery. Having the opportunity to work with the MacMedics team feels like yet another extension of Apples awesome service model. Actually, these guys are better than Apple employees in almost every way. I first went to MacMedics about seven or eight years ago at the recommendation of an Apple advisor. While they were the quickest option available to fix my then dead MacBook screen, I didnt trust doing this because they were not Apple employees. I can honestly say that using these guys was the best recommendation EVER! They are the fastest at what they do, and can usually turn your repair around in 24 - 48 hours; not even Apple can do that. And they have the best attitudes of any service people Ive encountered. Theyre just awesome to work with. Most recently, I took my 2010 iMac in to have them upgrade the hard drive to a solid state from the traditional one. Not only did they turn the repair around the same day, but they also saved me lots of money. Simon was great in recommending that I could go to Amazon to find the parts for cheaper, and then bringing it all to them to install for just $150. Thanks, Simon. I later had the pleasure of working with both Chris and Sam. Sam was the best to work with even after I screwed up the work they had done with the new install of El Capitan. Because I couldnt get the download to work from my account, Sam offered to do the install again at no cost. Sam and Chris even took the iMac back in a few more times to troubleshoot a RAM issue, again at no additional cost to me. I honestly, enjoy taking my Apple devices to MacMedics because they care about the work they do, and also the customers theyre working with. They truly make tough electronic issues easier to deal with because they are honest people. I will never take a device to Apple again as long as the MacMedics team is around. THANKS, GUYS!

After purchasing her iMac at the Apple Store, my mothers computer had some problems. We took it back to the Apple Store and they diagnosed a failed hard drive and replaced it. One week later the same problems were occurring. We didnt want to go through the hassle of going back to the Apple Store in the mall where we had to drag the computer through the parking lot and then through the shoppers inside. We decided to take it to MacMedics and we were pleasantly surprised with the professional, efficient and fast service. The location in Millersville, MD is convenient and the parking is right in front of the facility. When my husband and I started having problems with our own computers we decided to go back to MacMedics. Everyone we dealt with is knowledgeable, professional and dedicated to giving the best customer service and positive experience. After diagnosing the problems, it was determined our older laptops were at the end of their life cycles. We made the decision to purchase our new iMac from MacMedics rather than going to the Apple Store or ordering online. The computer arrived quickly after ordering and when we went to pick it up we were able to see the unit we were purchasing. Also, the data from our old computer was migrated to the new computer. While there, we were able to ask questions and we were given an overview of the new system. That is old fashioned customer service and my husband and I highly recommend their repair service but also their sales service. They are easy to deal with and go out of their way to give customer satisfaction. An additional service they provide is to recycle older/broken Macs and parts. MacMedics is a valuable local business for Mac users. KT
