I read about this shop in our local newspaper and stopped in to see what they were all about. The staff is very friendly, after my first visit they greet me by name. They seem to have a great selection of Specialized bikes, everything from kids bikes to top of the line racing bikes, at very competitive prices. They also had a good selection of parts and accessories. I took my sons bike in there for a safety check and to get a flat tire repaired. I figured it would cost me $30 or more and take a week. They called me 2 days later to say it was ready, and the bill was only $10! This level of customer service in a bike shop is unheard of in Mount Airy. The other shop in town would have made fun of this bike for being a piece of junk. Ill be back to Patapsco Bike and Sport for all my biking needs in the future!

I am an avid road cyclist and have been cycling in the area for nearly 20 years. Ive worked in bike shops, and I am friends with several of my LBS owners. While I try to support and visit them all equally I find myself visiting the guys at Patapsco more often than others. Everyone is beyond friendly, and knowledgable about both bicycles and the sport in general. They have great planned rides as well, I frequent them every time my schedule allows for it. Long story short, support your LBS when you can, and dont shy away from downtown Mt. Airy when searching for a good bike connection because these guys are some of the best around.

Definitely my favorite bikeshop, a bit of a hike from my house but if you want great, friendly customer service from a shop that will give you educated advice on what you actually need and not what they have to sell then you have certainly arrived at Patapsco Bicycles. Great bike mechanics trained on the latest technologies and repair techniques in the bike industry. I will not go anywhere else when it comes to my bike needs! Patapsco Bicycles its not just a bike shop, its a family and they certainly make feel like family every time you visit them whether you are doing by to say help or getting service done.

Bought a Specialized Roubaix from them about 2 years ago, they have provided me with reasonable priced service for the bike every time. I stopped by one time to have the derailleur checked and they took care of it while I was waiting and the nice thing, they did not charge me for the service. So if you buy your bike from them, they will take good care of you, and if you are a good customer (I stop by and usually purchase a few items every few months), they take great care of you. Donald (Don) and Tim are very friendly and helpful and do not mind answering newbie questions. 5 stars.

Wanted to purchase a Jamis for my daughter who lives in MD (I live in PA). Saw that Patapsco carried the brand and called the shop. Not only did they provide a super price for the bike I wanted, but John delivered it to my daughter and made certain the fit met her needs. Since then, Ive ordered a rear derailleur for a mountain bike and am bringing the bike there on my way to daughters. Once again, a super price for the part I needed. Only wish we had a local bike shop like this one near me in PA. But whenever its possible, ill be shopping at Mt. Airy.

The guys at Patapsco Bike & Sport will never steer you wrong, and their knowledge and love of the sport/hobby make this the perfect shop to go to for anyone whether you are buying your first bike or training on the local racing circuit. Unlike most shops, these guys will give you the same quality of service and treatment no matter how expensive the bike.

Donald, Eric and the rest of the crew at Patapsco are top notch humans. Treat me like family every time I go in whether it be for parts, service or just to say "hey". Some of the best service I have ever received in any industry, hands down. If you are in the market for a new bike, parts, accessories or just want your bike to ride/shift/brake better, I highly recommend this shop; they will not disappoint.

Eric assist me with purchasing my first fully adjustable bike.. he was able to answer all my basic questions about ride height, pedal upgrades, and future desires of the bike. Definitely recommend shopping here before going else where.. even if you dont get a bike, at least you walk out there smarter than you were prior.

What a wonderful alternative to the other bike shop in town. The staff is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and helpful. What I really appreciate is that they are willing to take the time to share their knowledge. There is no condescension here; If it has two wheels, they are into it and are encouraging.

Amazing work and very friendly staff. They are always very reasonably priced and the quality of work is non comparable. I cannot recommend them enough! They walk you through the repairs that were done, keep you informed with updates, and its all affordable. (Don is my personal favorite guy there lol)

After 3,500 miles on my Cannondale, they performed a tune up and replaced my drive train. Their pricing was very competitive and the bike is better than when new. They are very knowledgeable and and are not going to over sell you something you dont need. Highly recommended!
