You cant go wrong at the C&O bicycle shop. The only repair and service between Hancock and Cumberland along the C&O/GAP trail, Dennis and his crew will drop everything to get you patched up and back on your way. You must spend a night in the Bunk House, its a trail tradition. Its not the Waldorf Astoria but for $10 you get a a roof over your head, a place to sleep, a hot shower and more money in your pocket to spend on beer and pizza. There is also a well stock store with trail snacks and refreshments along with cycling apparel, accessories, repair parts and new Raleigh and Fuji bicycles. They also rent bicycles by the hour/day/week, shuttles anywhere between DC and Pittsburgh and just started offering kayak/canoe rentals.

C&O Bike Shops repair person is actually a really wonderful guy. He cares about the customers, makes them feel wanted, works hard to get your problems fixed right the first time and is a true asset to the business. There are some things the owner can do to better customer service on his part. The employee does one heck of a nice job and is to be commended! There is a place to rent for overnighters, which includes bunks, showers and portable potties & its very cheap. However, the outhouses are p-u! Oh- and the resident kitty--- Harley --- hes one cool kitty!

My dropper post died at my Hancock hotel in the middle of my Cumberland to Georgetown ride. Im grateful that 1) they open early!! and 2) they have a good selection of parts, and 3) they have a great staff! Thanks for your help last weekend!

A welcome respite from camping with a chance to dry out our gear and take a shower. The owner was accommodating and let us use equipment to clean and oil our bikes and hose them down.

Stored our bicycles here overnight on our Pittsburgh to Washington DC bike tour. Seemed like a nice place.
