I took my two boys to Bike Works today for new bicycles. The gentlemen on duty went out of their way to make sure my questions were answered and my boys were happy. While one man rang me up the other took the bicycles we selected and went over them in their entirety to ensure they were perfect even going so far as to mount the horns the boys selected on the handlebars. Then they let the boys ride around the store laughing and honking their horns with excitement. Before today I had always gone to Olde Towne Bicycles on Plank Road because it was convenient (i.e. not in historic downtown). In fact, I went there first this afternoon and was so dissatisfied with the service and selection I left in a flash. I am now a loyal Bike Works customer and and will never again hesitate to drive the five extra minutes downtown to give them my business.

This is a fantastic local Bike Shop! I started taking my bike here for repairs while a student at Mary Washington, and even though I graduated 3 years ago - I still trust them with all of my biking questions or repair needs. Andre is a friendly guy, and always extremely helpful when it comes to making new purchases. Ive never had a bad experience here, and Ive been going for about 6 years. They wont push you beyond your budget or up-sell without consideration, instead they try to make sure you get what you will actually need. All of the staff are very knowledgeable, polite, and eager to help you out. Even though, I am no longer living in Fredericksburg, I drove here to buy a new bike because I know I can trust these guys to sell me a great bike for a fair price. Dont bother with any other bike shops, Bike Works is the best!

Probably the best bike shop Ive ever been too. Ive been to a few around Stafford and Prince William county but this is by far the best. The customer service was impeccable! I came in to buy some pannier bags for my bike along with a rack. The guy spent an hour talking to me and showing me different bags, prices, and sharing his opinions on which to buy. I never felt that he was just trying to make a sale, he genuinely wanted to help me purchase the best bags for my needs. (Obviously in that hour of help he stepped away a few times to help other customers who came in, which is expected). When my bags came I was missing a screw and they immediately contacted the vendor and got it solved. Ill be going here for any of my bike needs from now on. And its local!

Ive bought 2 bikes here and have been very happy. Both Zach and Andre have been great. My first bike that I bought from Zach had an issue with a leaky brake caliper not long after I got it, and I waited way too long to get it looked at. Andre was great and got a new caliper from the manufacturer, and installed it free with no prodding. I dont like a hard sell, and the shop doesnt seem to work that way. Theyre happy to help and answer questions, but they arent pushy. Ive test rode a number of bikes and I was never made to feel rushed. Both guys actually ride so they know what theyre talking about. Definitely a place to consider if youre looking for a bike.

I have been purchasing my bicycles from Bike Works for at least 15 years. I have bought anything from "race ready" road and mountain bikes to kids bikes plus all accessories. Both Tom and Andre have always provided me with the best professional service. They know my name when I walk in the door and always repair my bikes right the first time. I will always go to Bike Works for bikes, parts and service. Plus they both ride bikes which is a plus. They know what they sell.

While on an epic ride from Clifton, Va to Williamsburg, Va, (and back) with 3 friends my rear tire side wall tore. We were outside of Fredericksburg in the middle of nowhere.... Called Bike Works and they found where we were and sent someone with a new tire and tube to save the weekend. They also brought us a big ol bag of gummy bears and two gallons of water! Great service, friendly staff. A 350 mile journey preserved thanks to Bike Works.

Ive been to Bike Works twice so far--once when my brakes froze solid this past winter, and then again when my gears werent functioning properly--and I can honestly say that the service there is fantastic. Both times, the guys working there fixed the problem right while I was there, and they even fixed some extra problems I hadnt even noticed. Ill definitely go back again the next time my bike acts up!

Go to this shop because of Andre! Andre really knows his stuff and wont pressure you to buy more than you really need. Hes also a great mechanic who can work wonders on your bike. This shop also supports local racing through their team - this earns some loyalty from me. Though I dont necessarily love the brands that they carry, I am a very loyal BikeWorks customer - theyll treat you right.

When I stopped by to ask for help with my bike and the bike carrier placement on my car the person working at the this shop refused to help. He just kept working on the bike he was tinkering on and was very punitive towards me. I would not recommend this bike shop to anyone.
