Terrible Customer Service/ 2 Apples Spoiled the Bunch We visited our local bike shop to buy a front wheel. The first time we came, I was met with an attitude instead of customer service . Not everyone can be good at basic customer service, but its been awhile since I met a shop worker who had zero helpfulness--- To salvage the encounter, for their benifit, I asked if they were going to have a bike sale because we needed to purchase two bikes. The same clerk said they didnt sell anything under $400. (Really?) Another clerk stepped in and said theyre having a swap meet next month. On our return visit to pick up the wheel we ordered, my husband went. He came home with our purchase and said first thing, " Man they are so rude!". I hadnt even shared with him my encounter with my teenager over the weekend. So. In short he came home with a new wheel- They did not offer to put on the tire- which would have taken them 5 minutes with all those tools- and I would have been happy to pay them for it. This shabby business lost a family of 6 as customers who love to ride bikes and have lots of friends to share their experiences with. I hope I saved you some time and money

I started going to Crankworks a couple of years ago. I knew very little about the road bike I took in to get serviced. They were patient and kind and extremely thorough in explaining all of the mechanical issues to me. Up until this point, I had always been a little intimidated to go into bike shops, to be honest. But I felt extremely comfortable with their courteous and attentive staff from day one. After I got into road biking I really got into mountain biking and purchased a Scott Contessa Spark from them. They were incredible to work with in helping me pick out the best bike for my frame and riding style (I couldnt love my bike more!) I ended up buying a Surly Ogre commuter from them as well. And again, had a tremendous experience with the staff and bike mechanics. I get all of my bikes serviced there and their turn around time is incredible. I think their bike selection is top-notch as well. They sell higher-end bikes. Which can be somewhat shocking at first if you compare prices to big chain department stores. But there is no substitute for a well built bike and a well staffed local bike shop. I cant praise all the folks at Cranworks enough!!

I always get excellent service here & this week was no exception. My bike needed a service right before the womens mountain bike clinic being held in town. Not only did Bill & Jeanette get my bike back to me in time but they supported the clinic with donations, time & money. Vanessa from Crankworks was offering bike maintenance support at the clinic & when it was over she took some extra time to help me put back together my stem which had been adjusted during the clinic. She also helped explain what she was doing & why so that if I needed to make adjustments later I could. So very grateful to have such a great local bike shop.

Came into the store and said hello to everyone without a single response....when finally greeted, the woman who met with us asked if we had any questions, left to go turn the "open" sign to the store on, in the middle of me speaking to her about my issue....from that point on, everything out of her mouth was condescending and rude....I told her that I was not that bike savy and just enjoyed riding. She made me feel like an absolute idiot.....will never go back to this store again....went to Dick´s Sporting Goods and received way better customer service than this store offered.

Great quality, wonderful bike shop. Those guys know what they are talking about and know bikes. The best customer service I have every encountered. I have been to every bike shop in Lexington and Crankworks out shines them all, like the sun outshines the moon. I have had multiple issues with my bike over the last few years and each one has been handled professionally and quickly. There is not better shop than one that can work on your bike in a few hours, fix it and do it right. I would recommend this shop to everyone.

Wow! What a place! I have been to several of the LBS (local bike shops) in the Lexington area. So when I say that this is my favorite, it carries some weight in my mind. I do not have any relational ties to anyone or have any vested interest in leaving a great comment. I just truly appreciate the people, the atmosphere, the knowledge and quality customer service they have given me. If you are looking for your go-to bike shop, then this is it! Ride on over and check em out! -Derek

Everyone at Crankworks has always been tremendously helpful. Always willing to answer questions, give tips, and help me out in the most affordable way (ie-not trying to upsale or outfit me with something I dont need). Not only do I appreciate them as a bike shop, but also for their involvement and support of the cycling community in general. The latest being Kentucky Womens Mountain Biking clinic. Great folks. Great spot.

I called today looking for something and the lady was extremely rude and hung up on me. I asked a simple question if they had something in stock and was told it a rare thing and would have to be ordered. I own a bike shop and the part is a very normal thing. Found what I was looking for at a different shop.

Excellent service! Tom and the gang are friendly and kind. and as someone who is not a bike expert I wasnt overwhelmed nor made to feel like an amateur. He checked on my bike immediately and addressed my concerns. Im glad I came, and would recommend this place to all my bike-loving friends.

Very good experience here. They were honest, courteous, and gave good advice. Ive appreciated their good repair work, and when I bought a bike from them, they worked with me on price. Vanessa was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the repair and sales experience.

These guys saved me. Im currently cycling Coast to Coast and my rear mech snapped and bent the hanger. Within a minute they had a beer in my hand and within an hour my bike was fixed and ready to go. Awesome friendly guys that know exactly what theyre doing. Thanks!

My only experience here was with the service and it was top notch. I had a set of wheels trued and now they roll smoother than ever. I also expected to drop them off and pick them up later but they trued them right away so I didnt have to make a return trip. Nice.

Went in today to get a gnawed pedal (not a cycling term; its the actual work of a bored lab puppy) replaced. Service is fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and priced right. The stores vibe is "were happy to be here." You can stop looking for a bike shop now.
