First I took my bike in to be serviced. They replaced the front brakes and the bike worked great. About two days later I got a flat front tire. I walked my bike up there to have the tire replaced. On the ride home my front brake literally fell off, jamming itself between the wheel and the frame of the bike. This threw me from my bike and could have seriously hurt me. I called to explain to them the situation and they claimed the brakes were broken before I came in (when in reality they had replaced the front brake 2 or 3 days before). I swore I would never go back. I needed air in my tires and due to close proximity I chose to go back and get this quick fix taken care of at this location. I was treated like an idiot when I asked to have my spokes tightened and air put in my tires. After arguing about the spokes for about a minute I was fed up and just told him to put air in my tires and I would be on my way. As I was riding back to my apartment about 1/4th of a mile away I hear a loud snap and what do you know.... 2 broken spokes and a completely bent tire rim. I will never go back to this business and if you want your bike to last your a while I would suggest you go elsewhere.

My fiancés bike was in terrible condition - it would only run in two different (difficult) gears and the generator to power the headlight barely worked and would not lock in place away from the tire, which means constant extra resistance when riding. I heard of LBCs $35 tune-ups so I figured that Id give them a shot and probably have to spend extra for these fixes. When I came back to get my bike, however, I was only charged $35 for everything that was done: a new shifting cable, derailer re-alignment, chain greased, tires pumped, brakes adjusted, and they even opened up the generator and worked on it so that it functions as if it were brand new!! The employees were very kind and the man doing the majority of the repairs was very knowledgeable (from someone who has been around bikes my entire life). I was so impressed that I brought two more of my bikes in to be tweaked! I highly recommend this place if you want your bike to ride like its new again.

Ive taken my bike to the shop twice. The first time was for a broken shift cable, the second was for a broken shifter and housing. Both times, they quoted the price more than what I actually paid for, and the person who referred me there also had that experience. They fixed what needed to be fixed within 24 hours. The first time they werent busy so they helped me load it into the car. Very friendly, very honest. Only criticism is that the shifter wasnt adjusted 100% properly the first time. Overall impression is that they do the minimum that needs to be done, but prices reflect that. As a cash-strapped grad student, thats a fair trade to me! Pros: Affordable, friendly, honest. Cons: Could be more thorough.

This place is a joke. The workers must be drunk to produce such terrible "fixes." I have stupidly taken my bike there three times. Most recently my front fork was bent and the new one they replaced it with is too small! The tire obviously rubs the frame. Even my alcoholic neighbor noticed from 50 feet away. They loosened my seat (why?) and both tires where flat when it was picked up. Somehow they managed to even lose the caps to the intertubes! At least one cap has been missing everytime. I am appalled at their "bike shop." Do NOT take your bike here if you want it tuned/fixed up. They told me to bring it in and theyd look at it. Not gonna happen. Atrocious

I bought my Jamis road bike here in 2010, and it has proven to be a great purchase. The staff worked with me on getting it for a great price. I live fairly far from Lexington, so Ive only been back to the shop a few times since, to get minor repair work done or to have them check things out that were beyond by capabilities. Theyve been nice enough to get me going again most times without even charging for the work, or just charging for parts and not labor. Jamis is a great bike for the money, and this is the only place I know of to find one in our part of Kentucky. Give Jamis and this shop a try.

My husband and I decided to get in shape, because while round is a shape its not a very healthy one. We chose biking. Neither of us had any biking equipment so off he went to scout out local shops. He returned telling me this location had the Terra Trike Rover that I was looking at online. After multiple spine fusions and lose of use in my right arm, a trike was my only safe option. Arrived at the location and was immediately helped. Very friend staff. No pressure sales. Felt comfortable shopping, asking questions and I know if I need help I can head right back over.

I just purchased my Breezer Uptown 8 from the Lex. Bicycle Center and I could not be happier! The model was last years, and the price was fantastic because it was last years model. Despite the fact that they could not have earned much on my purchase due to the discount, they were so friendly and helpful and took time to answer all my many many questions. I wish anyone I knew needed a bike so I could refer my friends to them. I will no longer frequent any other bike store in Lexington. Thank you, LBC

Very nice people who are interested in building long term relationships with their customers. Several times I have had a problem with a recumbent trike I bought from them, and the always been very helpful and seemed much more interested in getting me back on the road than making a buck. They also worked with the manufacturer when I had a warranted failure of the frame. I didnt have to do anything, they took care of it all. Great folks and very UNPRETENTIOUS!

Although the star was very nice and helpful, with my newness to cycling, I felt they took advantage of that. At the time I did not realize that the bike I bought was the wrong size. I asked them if the bike was the right size for my height and they said yes. As I found out it was not. If you are new to cycling do not come here. They will take advantage of you and try to sell you old stock regardless of your bike size. Go somewhere else.

Went there today for a front wheel for a bike that a friend had recently given me. I know absolutely nothing about bicycles, so I had no idea what to ask for. The staff were absolutely amazing. They put the wheel on for me and even unloaded and loaded the bicycle from my vehicle. They even fixed a couple of maintenence issues without charging me. I will definitely be going back for everything.

I do most of my own bike maintenance and have older bikes that I just keep riding. While I dont have tons of money to dump into bikes or maintenance, the guys at LBC are always helpful. They have helped me with a few 3-minute fixes where I didnt have the right tool and when they charged me it was quite reasonable. With the customer service that I get at LBC, I will go nowhere else.
