When I heard about Broke Spoke, I thought it was such a good idea, but I was admittedly a little intimidated to actually go in. I have a used Trek and know absolutely nothing about maintaining it. But as soon as I walked in, I knew I had come to the right place! This was the least intimidating environment--everyone was so nice and helpful, and they really know their stuff. The volunteer mechanics show you how your bike actually works, what went wrong, how to fix it (partially), and then they ask you to try to do the other half based on what theyve showed you. I got a lesson on how to fix and maintain my bike, a kickstand, a safety light, and a new cable; and my bill? $14. Thanks SO much to Steve (my cycle-sensei!) and everyone there for being anything but intimidating. Would recommend this place to ANYONE, expert or beginner, for excellent and affordable service.

This place is AMAZING!! This place has a complete volunteer staff and is nonprofit! I came in needing new tires for a bike having no idea what i was doing. These lovely people took their time to not only help pick out all the parts i needed, but also showed me how to complete the repair! I learned a lot about bikes today that i didnt know yesterday...and had fun! Definitely go to this place before you pay someone to do things for you!

Nice place to get some work done yourself on your bike but they simply charge to much for used bikes for the needy if your a UK student definitely need to go to Wildcat wheels on campus free bike rentals and work stands to work on your bike

A tremendous community focused place, provides a great service to Lexington. The only downside is the limited hours of operation.
