I just picked up my dog after a two day stay at Frankfort Animal Resort. What a crock of CRAP! They told me to come pick my dog up on Sunday from 3:00 - 5:00. I had just rolled into town and I figured, since I pass this place on my way home, that I would look to see if they were open at 2:43pm. There were cars in the driveway and the sign was lit up, "OPEN". They let me in... the placed wreaked of death. I paid for my dog. The guy that was supposed to get my dog just stood there bull crapping with some friends. After I waited about 10 minutes he finally caught my eye... I held out my dog leash for him. My dogs bedding was hanging on the rail to the steps... pretty sure that was not used... although they told me to bring it. Also, his toys were still in the bag.. never used... although they told me to bring them. When I loaded him into my car... my NEW CAR... he had dog yellow dog crap all over his paws...he got it on every seat in my car... I wasnt aware the PREMIUM meant my dog would be standing in a pile of CRAP while I was gone. My car smelt of death... they did offer to clean it... however when they took my dog and I walked back into the building the owner started blaming ME for showing up too soon. Another man told me he didnt know what I was talking about... "theres no dog crap on his feet".... Yeah, well go look at all the yellow crap in my CAR! He started to hand the dogs leash to me and when he did, he put his hand firmly on my shoulder... "You were mad at me when you first came in here.. because I was talking and not getting your dog.. but you were not supposed to be here that early." "I just want my dog".... but he wouldnt let go of the leash... he wouldnt get his freaking hand off my shoulder! "You need to smile, its gonna snow".... SMILE? SERIOUSLY? When my dog gets returned to me with evidence that he has been standing in DOG CRAP the entire time I was gone? SERIOUSLY? I sure didnt get what I paid for...I also got blamed for THEIR mistakes... of course it was ALL MY FAULT... I SHOULDNT ENTER A BUSINESS THAT CLEARLY STATES, "OPEN"..... I should have just stood there and let him bullcrap with his friends for next 20 minutes.... DONT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE... my dog came home and puked all over my floor... he was clearly upset... and NOT CLEAN... This is what I get for PREMIUM CARE of my dog? If you are smart, you wont come within a MILE of this place... NASTY NASTY STINKY PLACE that leaves your dog standing in CRAP... OBVIOUSLY.. the extra money I paid to get my dog walked was not done... Isnt it so ironic that this page said there were 7 reviews, but when I added mine there are still only 7. Evidently they only allow 7 reviews... and did you notice that ONE of the comments was from the Animal Resort themselves? lol.... Im pretty sure they ALL... are... unless these people abuse the heck out of their dogs which would possibly make this place look like heaven... but I HIGHLY DOUBT IT! ALSO... I sent my dog with a gallon bag of treats... he came back with NONE...

DO NOT send your dogs here. We had the worst experience of our lives with these people. My husband and I spontaneously decided to go camping this weekend and wanted to put our dogs up somewhere closer to home. We took a tour of the facility the day before we brought them. The building was a work in progress, but the lady seemed nice and eager to watch our girls. I even showed her pictures of our dogs both who are just under 2 years old. She said she was excited to meet them the next day and there were no breed restrictions. So the next morning, we brought our dogs in. They were both on leashes, each of us holding one. Since this was their first time, they were nervous and started barking. There were also numerous dogs just walking around the lobby. Our dogs were not attacking or being mean, just barking because thats what dogs do. As soon as I walked in, the owner came out and started YELLING. He said "what is all this noise??!!! Is this a normal occurrence for you guys? These animals are out of control!" We were baffled. He kept going on and on about how obnoxious our dogs were being because they were barking so loud. I immediately got a very bad vibe and told my husband we were not leaving our dogs with them. The owner kept getting in my face. He said "I dont blame you for leaving. I would never take those dogs anywhere!" That was it. He rattled off some pretty nasty language at me as I stepped back outside. I ran to the car and put the one dog in the back seat. My husband came out a few minutes later with our other one. He said the owner told him he is the reason certain breeds get a bad rap and then told him to get our "b**** a** dogs out of his business because they arent welcome here." My husband told him good, because he wasnt getting our business. We then drove them to Petsuites in Lexington where they have stayed twice before and went in without a problem. There was no reason for us to be treated so poorly. I was very disappointed and surprised that someone, especially a business owner who supposedly likes animals would act so unprofessional and mean. He was very hateful and anything but caring.

I usually do not review many places but after seeing so many negative reviews I decided to write one because I have nothing but praise for the place, the owner and his staff. I have been taking my now 5 month old Doberman since I got him when he way 8 weeks old. This place has some excellent people working there as well as a great community of dog owners that I have met through there. The environment is very cozy and very personable. I have used both their training and boarding services. I travel often and every time I travel I leave my dog there. I have left him there now more on one occasion ranging from 2 days to 10 days at a time. I have nothing to complain about. My dogs enjoys his stay there. He get to run around all day with other dogs and So it is a great chance for him to socialize with other dogs and play with them. They feed taste of the wild which is high quality food and they have him groomed the day I pick him up. They also make sure he participates in his weekly protection class or any other training I request. As for the training they offer it is top notch. They offer group classes as well private lessons. They also can come to your home and train your dog there. I participate in both group glasses as well as private classes. In addition to the regular lesson they offer great support and put a lot of effort in educating the owners and explaining the training they are doing.I have always been able to get help any time I needed it. Whether its training or boarding their prices are very hard to beat especially for the kind of attention you get. I have recommended ARTC to some friends and they have both trained their dogs there as well as boarded them there and they too were very happy with the quality of service. The owner and his son are great guys and very attentive and caring. They have a lot of passion for what they do and take a lot of pride in it. I would recommend that if for any reason you were not happy with their service you mention it to them.
