Love my PetSmart Hiram. Always nice to see such caring workers who are always willing to help. But I wanted to make you aware of This was the end of March Recently we adopted a black GSD from Jennifers Pet Rescue. We were told that he had been completely veted and had no health issues. He wouldnt walk for Jennifer and she claimed he didnt like walking on tile floors and had never been on a leash. They had to carry him into petsmart and carried him back to grooming to have his ears cleaned. She said hes healthy. He had been abused by the dog he lived with and crated for 20 hours a day. We took him outside and he walked for us but you could tell his gate was not right. Again she claimed he had been checked out by the vet. That nothing was wrong with him. We adopted him anyways because she would have he had him euthanized and hes so sweet. Took him home were he would only sleep and would not walk. Took him to the vet where he had been before he had a massive ear infection in both ears (Dr said he had never seen ears so bad) and was given 3 prescriptions. At this point he still wouldnt walk. I asked the Dr how could they say the dog was completely healthy. He went and checked and to find out our dog came in but in a large kennel. He didnt get up or out of the kennel. They gave him 2 shots and he left. So they didnt know that he was in bad shape. But according to Jennifer he was completely checked out by the vet and healthy. 3 weeks have since passed. His ears are better but he has major issues. He is special needs . He has fine motor issues. Has trouble getting up and down. Chases his tail and barks nonstop. He has some cerebellum issues. When we pet him on his left side he shakes and falls. I would never recommend adopting a pet from her because she is not a truthful person all she does is lies. Update 5/16/16 He has been getting more and more aggressive. He has bitten Ken and myself. Constantly attacks us. He has an average of 100 episodes of tail chasing aggression a day (seizures). Now when we touch him anywhere on his body he shakes and falls. He is loosing his hair and doesnt have any on his paws from dragging them. Hes lost 10 pounds. I have spent many Saturdays watching Jennifers Pet Rescue adopt out many animals. A lot of them are lethargic. I dont know how anyone with a heart can do this to the animal humans. It makes me beyond angry. We said good bye to Bodie after trying 4 different prescriptions for his seizures and his mental state. Im so heart broken but I know we tried everything to give him a happy life

I have a olde English Bulldog and she has a very sweet demeanor. She has never met a stranger. If she was my human daughter, I would have to have many talks with her. Anyway, my dog only has anxiety here at this location for grooming. I have taken her to several other groomers in the past but here its totally different. I had a personal observation of just why that may be the case. When picking my dog up I observed a man, who later was identified as the grooming manager, man handle a small dog, the dog appeared to be a Shih Tzu. The man grabbed the dog by the back of the neck and was pulling the skin so tight that the dogs left eye was buldging. He pulled the hair so aggressively that the dog was pulled off of his/her front legs. It is of my opinion that if a young lady was not holding the dogs back legs, the man would have easily pulled the dog totally off the table. He clearly was frustrated over the dog not "cooperating". If this is the treatment that the manager provides in the open, what are they doing in the back where no one can see? My dog will not go here again. I strongly recommend no one to use this groomer again either.

I am most disappointed with the aquatics area of the store. We started our fish adventure and found very little help from this store. I was told to start up the tank and I could put fish in them the same day. (Not correct information) Fortunately, I did more research and am not going to blindly listen to someone without finding out facts. After having the water set up for a few days, I went back to get the water tested. I was told my ph was low and to get a moss ball and that it would fix it immediately and I could put fish in it the next day. I got the water tested the next day at a different pet store, where the ph level tested almost the same and still low. I asked what would fix it and was recommended a ph up. I asked if moss balls can increase the ph and was told very very very little

It doesnt matter how many people are in the store, or what time it is, or what is going on - this store has yet to open more than 1 register even though there are plenty of staff walking around goofing off and never asking if you need help even if you stand within 2 feet of them and say excuse me for help. The dog training (ha what a joke) program is a scam rip off. We paid $100 to basically sit in a circle with a bunch of other dog owners while the guy humdrummed about his guitar hero life and handed out treats. It was a rip off. Its basically an overpriced store with rude unhelpful people that you spend half an hour in the checkout for 1 item.

Staff are pretty unknowledgeable about the products they sell and generally will try to push specific products on you that may be inappropriate for your situation just because they need to sell more of it that week. Some things are fairly priced, others are overpriced. Found the way some reptiles are handled a bit questionable. Had one guy try to sell me some organic shampoo when I mentioned my dog had ringworm at the time and I was looking for a shampoo to use alongside the treatment and kept asking me if there were a lot of worms present and moving visibly under the skin. Apparently he didnt know ringworm isnt actually a worm...

I dont ever recommend this place. Anytime I try to come in there are NEVER any crickets, and that is the only reason I go. Ive even come in on shipment days to try to get some and the employees still say they are out. Considering this is the only pet store in Hiram, that is incredibly frustrating that they never keep a consistent stock of crickets. Not to mention the fact that they are always incredibly low staffed and you can never find employees to help.

My dog lives to go....anywhere. Going to petsmart is a special treat. He loves meeting all the new people... and kids who want to pet and hug a big dog. Theres plenty of options for all kinds of pets. You dont have to spend a lot to get good quality. Pet perks is similar to using a Kroger card to get added discounts. On weekends local rescue organizations bring cats/kittens or dogs/puppies to be adopted.
