Good Dog is a GREAT store! I have been shopping there for roughly six months. As a layperson, it was a huge decision to switch my dogs from Nutro Natural Choice to Precise. My first contact at Good Dog was with Robin, who provided me with several food samples to facilitate my decision. Robin spent a lot of time discussing options with me. She could not have behaved more professionally. With a house full of large breed rescues, I go through a lot of food. The great people at Good Dog consistently ensure that they have enough Precise in stock to meet my and their other customers needs. From my perspective, Regina & her staff are extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Kudos! The person who wrote a negative review of this store is WAY out of line and has demonstrated really bad form. Although the staff at Good Dog knows a lot about dogs and cats, there is certain information that needs to be verified by a vets office. As a mental health professional, I have been asked about psychotropic medications (particularly those for ADHD) on many occasions. My responses have always been qualified. In other words, I tell clients what I know so that they can make more informed decisions in conjunction with their physicians. Similarly, the staff at Good Dog can tell customers what they know about certain issues, but ultimately the information needs to be discussed with a vet if it concerns treatment.

As the owner of The Good Dog Co. Atl I appreciate all feedback be it positive or negative...there is always room for improvement. Our store is a chemical free zone where pets are concerned. We offer holistic alternatives for pet owners who choose not to treat their pets with traditional chemical preventatives. The supplements we carry are totally supported and proven to be effective by holistic veterinarians! People come to us looking for help and we do our best to provide it. Pet owners seek us out for alternatives in most cases they have already researched themselves. We are not vets and dont proclaim to be but we do consult frequently with them...be it a holistic or a traditional one to find the right answer. We recognize these alternative philosophies are not for everyone but they do work and we feel are ultimately safer long term for our pets. With regards to the FDA comment...do you know the pet food you feed your pet is not FDA regulated? And how many FDA approved medications has your vet prescribed...TRIFEXIS...to name the most recent, have sickened and killed dogs? FDA? HA! I have absolute confidence in my staff and their knowledge of the products we carry and any information they provide to customers looking for help. But I do recognize what we offer isnt for everyone and thats why we live in America... for freedom of choice.

Just got a dog, and was exploring different dog stores in the area. Came across this place after visiting Top Dogs. No one said hello, can I help you or anything. Overall I had the feeling that I was there without permission. Found a few things for puppy and made my way to the counter to checkout, helped 2 people that were not in line before I finally was able to pay. Asked if I needed any food and told them that my dog was very picky and I was trying out some different food samples that Top Dogs gave me. The lady then began to tell me how horrible I was for going there and tried shamming me, in a loud voice told me how horrible they were to the owner and that I should never visit there. Then she informed me that when I figure out what food he likes that I could "just bring the bag here and I am sure we will have it". Um no thanks, Top Dogs welcomed me the second I stepped in the door, helped me find a collar, harness, and they even filled a FULL shopping bag of free food samples (Dry/Wet/Free Dried/Frozen) and sent me on my way with some treats. Why would I "just bring the bag in here" when I can pay the same price and not be shamed in-front of other customers about where I visit with my new dog? My visit here taught me again that their is a reason people choose Target over Walmart. Customer service is not a priority here.

I have shopped here from the day they opened their doors and now I also go to their new location in Cartersville, Ga. the staff is awesome. My dog had a brain tumor and I had taken him to Raleigh, NC for treatment. The doctor recommended a brand of dogfood which of course I didnt have with me. The owner, Regina called all over Raleigh, found a shop that had ONE bag left, had them hold it for me until I could pick it up the next day. Regina called me at my hotel and told me she had located a shop, told me the price, etc. incredible service and she is so passionate about her products and the needs of her customers. She researches the products thoroughly before stocking. They offer great service, are friendly and you can always count on a knowledgeable staff. All their products are healthy and good for your pet. I LOVE this shop.

I live in CA and found the owners email address on a dog forum. Weve had a series of conversations in which she has advised me of the best methods for my yellow lab who has terrible allergies--a 5 year battle for us. The advice I received has already been more helpful and effective than any vet or pet store I have ever worked with before. Because I live in CA, I have never and will never spend a dime in this store YET the owner has been taking the time to help a complete stranger via email. THAT is a person who is dedicated to the health and wellness of animals!!! If you have the opportunity to shop in this store, please do! Do it for me and my dear dog who would love the opportunity to support a business like this!

I love this store and they are always very sweet when I bring my dog in. Kat also always helps me get my things out to the car. Even when I dont need help she always loves to come out to visit with my dog. That Brandon guy that did that horrible review is obviously just a jerk looking to stir up problems for the girls who run this place. And hes clearly a liar because I go in there all the time and none of them would ever stoop that low is to bash another store. And i can vouch for the owner when she says she has sent people to other stores for productsbthey dont have because I was one of them when they didnt have the harnesses I was looking for.

Hey...The Good Dog Co. Atl is the best holistic pet store for sure in the Atlanta Metro Area....to emphasis how good it is i travel around an hour to shop there. The owner - Regina is very knowledgable in the holistic care of your pets. My pets are my babies so I believe they deserve the best. I have looked at other reviews of this store and for the most part are all close to 5 stars - I did see the comment about the FDA...at one time maybe when this agency was started it had a value....however now it has none....it approves many things that actually kill people....to me this review was odd....just saying...:)
