If I could give this store a negative-star, I would. I have given this store several opportunities to keep me as a customer. After so many unfulfilled trips to this particular Petco, I can honestly tell you that I will never step foot in this store ever again. They, obviously, dont take care of the animals because Ive seen on numerous occasions dead fish, beetles in reptile cages, an excessive amount of feces in almost all types of cages, and to top it all off - their staff is horrible...the manager especially. They dont provide the right type of training to their new employees. The very last time I went there, I needed aquarium water tested. I went to the employee that was standing by the fish and asked for help on testing the water. She told me she didnt know how to do that, and her manager was on break and she couldnt go get him. This is the extremely-rude manager were talking about. In conclusion, if you want high-quality customer service AND efficient products/items...go to PetSmart on SE14th.

tHIS STORE i GIVE 5 STARS!! the REALLY CARE ABOUT RETURN CUSTOMERS. iF YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT THE NITRATION CYCLE WHILE SETTING UP A FISH TANK YOU MIGHT AS WELL AS FORGET IT. iT THE BOTTLE SAYS ADD FISH RIGHT AWAY YOUR BEING SOLD SNAKE OIL/ iT TAKES 1TO 2 MONTHS BEFORE YOU CAM ADD YOUR FISH. i WILL SAVE YOU THE TIME . you=tube nitration cycle and dont believe add fish inconstantly/, If you cant wait. I will buy your tank minis the dead fish of course. Im A BIOLOGIST i SHOULD KNOW! The staff at this store are over qualified!

Very poor care of all animals no live crickets at all rude staff manager included! Meal worm beatles inside the albino corn snake cage (3) that I saw an counted dead fish in the tanks absolutely no one any where seen to help any one. Wish I didnt even give a star rating at all just terrible dirty store as well!. Wont be back until its taken care of and the staff actually knows about what the hell the store is selling. Will be calling corporate in the am as well.

This store has little to no customer service! Then they were out of the dog food I needed but I was still getting treats and snacks and then there was no cashier anywhere. One lady stocking supplies looked over and turned away with no offer of assistance. I walked out and went to the West Des Moines store where customer service is abundant and very professional. Looks like South Ridge wants our $200 a month but West Des Moines does.

Do not use their grooming unless you have 4 hours to kill. They said they would take special care of my senior dog. I guess for them it meant sitting in a kennel for 4 hours. After 3 hours I stopped in to see how much longer and was told 30 minutes. I was called 10 minutes later and told another hour. I decided to skip the cut and was still charged $30 for a bath by an extremely rude groomer. Will never go back!

Dont ever take your dog here to get groomed. We usually go to West Des Moines and decided to try the southside this time and they completely shaved my teddy bear (shih tzu/bichone) dog almost to the skin, including her tail and ears. Shes been hiding every since. Its absolutely ridiculous! Its like whoever they hired doesnt give a crap about how they leave.

This Petco has a self wash that is a joke. I live 40 miles away and have come up here 2 different times. Both times within the times of operation and twice the groomer has decided to close early. I used to buy my dog food here and wash my dog at the same time. I WILL NEVER SHOP THIS AT PETCO AGAIN. And I suggest no one else either.

Took my dog to the petco she was supposed to have nails trimmed, ears cleaned and bath for $50. Ended paying $40 just for the bath and I dont even think they took her a bath Im so mad!!!!! Very disappointed and mad never will i give a penny to petco in my life! I refuse to shop there at all!!!!! Lost a customer for life!

We took our puppy for two rounds of puppy classes. Cody is amazing and great with the dogs. Would recommend petco for dog training to anyone.
