Mills Fleet Farm is an interesting retailer that is hard to pin its exact retail identity, but it reminds me most of Menards except its scooe is much broader & does not suffer from some of the major deficits of the competing hardware retailer. Notably, Mills Fleet Farm is well very well staffed and has much broader appeal. You are able to buy items by bulk, by box, or at the unit level itself - & its clearly priced at all levels, something Ive never seen a physical retailer do consistently (offer three price levels up-front). You can purchase hardware here, but beyond that, sporting goods (related to the Northern Midwest, Wisconsin culture - hunting, fishing, camping, sport shooting, etc.) groceries, farm animal supplies, garden supplies, clothing, gasoline, & a lot of other niche items not seen at other large retailers. The store is physically quite large & the offerings vast, so expect to spend a fair amount of time here, even if you dont intend to - something will pull your attention. Impulse shoppers should probably stay clear. The price point across the board is very competitive, but given its size & time dedication required for shopping, usually Mills receives my business when I am making a major purchase; it could be completely different for others though. Since the store combines so many traditionally much more narrow in scope retail outlets, its just far too easy to draw out how competitive Mills Fleet Farm actually is - for instance I mentioned it relative to Menards, but I would shop at Mills before Menards; but many comparisons can be made where Mills would be my preference. Between Sportsmans Warehouse & Mills, hands down I would choose Mills - its just that difficult to pin down exactly what Mills qualifies itself, sort of a universal retailer perhaps.

Found fence posts outside with lumber, cant make out price tags on 90%, but find bundle marked $5 on sign. Fencing is in the middle of the store, of course. Try to check out at the front, between two guys they cant figure out how to price check the posts. I offer to head back outside and they agree that would be "easiest". Garden cashier is bewildered too, calls manager, Mark. Mark tells me curtly that those posts are from farm and garden (opposite side of the inside portion of store) and theres "nothing he can do about it." I asked what I should do and he told me to go to customer service and walked away. Really, Mark? Really, Fleet Farm? 2nd time there=last time there. You should be ashamed.

Prices are to high most employees seem like they are in lala land and could care less about you and your purchase and seem to be thinking why they work there upon one of my visits I asked an associate for help he just replys by asking me what do you wanna do that for like he was insinuating that I was not knowing what I was talking about and I just said forget it i will go somewhere else and he says okay and I said ok and left and they did have what I needed when I called but by then had purchased elsewhere so they missed out on 85 dollar purchase due to needing attitude adjustment

The auto center is well run. I needed an oil change on my Prius and my battery (not the hybrid battery) happened to fail at the shop and they could not restart the car. It was definitely a confusing situation for a shop to have to deal with, but the manager stayed an hour after close with one of the mechanics working on a solution. The mechanic ended up giving me a ride home and I came back in the morning to pick up the battery and take it to a battery place to have it tested and buy another one. I thought the manager did a good job of handling the situation professionally.

Ankeny and the Des Moines area are fortunate to have a MFF store. We have shopped there since it opened and enjoy the well-organized and staffed displays, the courteous and helpful staff and the spotless floors. The prices are good too as is the selection. This organization has a long history of success in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. It was recently purchased by a major investment group so it will be expanding and bringing their special flair to more cities. We enjoy the store for its merchandise but also has a winter walking place.

Really like the store, variety of departments, and the amount of Made in USA merchandise that I found. Especially Allen brand tools. Theyve become my replacement for Craftsman, and Id have to guess you have the full Allen line. Was nice to pick-up a few odds-n-ends Ive been missing. And its only been about 45 minutes, but the birds seem to love your feed. Your prices are much better than what Ive been paying recently for DM Feed products. Will definitely be back on a regular basis.

Not enough clerks on the floor for the size of the store. Hard to find things and employees usually dont know where stuff is, if you are lucky enough to find an employee to assist you. Employees give out a lot of incorrect information, so check your purchases closely. MFF has a lot of stuff Menards doesnt have and visa versa, so between Menards and MFF, I can find pretty much everything I need to survive. Best pet supply store ever; Im glad to have a MFF in the Des Moines area.

Mills Fleet Farm has just about everything you can imagine at fantastic prices. As a hunting and fishing enthusiast I first ventured in here looking for some gear. After moving to Ankeny it became a weekly grocery stop as well - batteries, beer, snacks, water, etc. are all cheaper than other retailers! The floor staff/cashiers seem to be young but everyone is very helpful and friendly. Plus, $.04 off per gallon of (already cheap) gas with your purchase is an awesome benefit!

Tried the soft touch car wash 2 times with my F150. Both times the back end tail gate area did not get clean at all. Also, had an issue the second time. I bought the wash 3 days earlier and when I went to go use, it said the code had already been used or was expired. Talk about embarrassing. They made me feel like I was stealing when I asked them to fix it. They gave me a new code, but I wont be going through that again.

Nice selection of items however, making a return the same day within 15 minutes of buying the item has been a joke. We have been waiting for credit on bank card, found out it never went to our account and they cant find the transaction in their computer even though we gave them all the numbers off of our return slip. What a joke! Never going there again since they obviously dont know how to run their computer systems.

DO NOT USE THE CAR WASH!!!!!!!! Took my new truck through the car-wash and came out with scratches over the entire tuck. They denied that their car-wash did it since the people before and after me did not complain. i am not the type to complain but when you are expecting to clean your vehicle that"s what should happen not thousands of scratches covering it. Shame on you for not taking responsibility.
