Ive never been treated so rudely in my life. Ive been a Jo-ann customer since I was 10 years old. Now Im a teacher. I came in to renew my teacher appreciation card ad came in with my old one. The manager was so rude. She said,"Let me see your ID". I said, "Oh yes, here is my badge with my keycard". She told me it says the last year on it, and I had to argue and say, we dont get a new keycard each year. She didnt believe me?! I said, listen, Im a teacher and you can call the school district. She made a remark about how she couldnt call them if she wanted to because theyre closed on Saturdays. I said, Excuse me, I give you so much business and pay out of pocket to help my students and this is what you do to me? She kept arguing that she was in the right!? I said, "Im thinking about choosing another Jo-anns. Im so insulted on how you made me feel and have to prove myself as a teacher. Here." I flopped down my actual TEACHING LICENSE CARD that says when Ive been issued and when it expired. She didnt have a damn clue as to how it works. She just laughed when I said I might be picking another Jo-Anns. So incredibly rude. Teachers work so hard and just to get a measly 2 dollars off....that was disgusting.

I own a small business and shop at Joanns often but its becoming less and less and after the last few trips, I will be shopping elsewhere from now on. I go to this location only when I absolutely have to. They are never staffed to have enough people for the amount of customers in the store, especially weekends with high traffic (the same is true for Ankeny). I have stood in lines of upwards of 12 people with only one extremely slow checker. The people in the line are very frustrated, including myself. Today I stood in line with 10 customers before they finally called for help at the front. If this was a once in awhile occurrence it wouldnt be a big deal but this is every time I go in. I also usually cant find someone to help for the times I have questions. The one time I was desperate to find an item I had to ask a lady at the fabric counter (she was the only one around), she barely acknowledged my question, said she didnt know and made it clear she was done talking to me. I like JoAnns a lot but never being able to find someone to help me (or find someone who WILL help) and standing in line to check out for 15 minutes to buy a few quick items it has made me look elsewhere to buy what I need.

5 stars! Love this store and love their staff! I get THE BEST treatment every time I go in. I am learning how to sew and basically know nothing. Every single time I go in I have to ask a lot of questions and every single person I talk to is knowledgeable and takes the time to answer my questions thoroughly. I even ask them for their opinions about fabrics, colors, and designs. One girl helped me by showing me where to get coupons and helped me by playing with my daughter while I looked for fabric. This same staff member helped me with picking thread because the thread I was buying was actually for embroidery!! Im so thankful she told me that because here I was buying $10 thread when I should have been buying $2 thread! I honestly could go on and on. The prices are great and they always have nice sales. "Liquidation" prices at Hancock Fabrics are more expensive than regular prices at Joann. Like I said I love this store!

I loved the staff well most of them there was this person who was sitting at this computer by the sewing machine and my daughter was touching one and you know kids they touch every thing and the lady was like do need help in a very mean way. My daughter said no and then gave her a really mean look and she said I will go away and she did. I wanted to to talk to her but she was on her phone and she didnt one of the shirts on so I dont know if she works there but they need to tell her to be nice and to get off of her phone.

I love all the fabric choices. The colors different fabric content. All craft ideas. The very friendly guys and gals who work there. The coupons they send via text. Its always nice
