I was going to be purchasing a laptop that was on sale. Online I noticed that for this particular laptop college students could get $100 off. I thought it was a great deal. After signing up for a Best Buy account I had to sign up for the college deals as well. Did that, it was taking a long time. I was under the impression that the email for the college deals was supposed to go to my student email. So I was waiting for at least 20/30 for an email that went straight to my spam in my personal account. Thats besides the point. One of the managers that was supposed to help with the lost email predicament said the F word in front of me as he was explaining the college student coupon to me and an associate who had tried to help. Super unprofessional but whatever. At no point in time did he tell me that I could not use the college coupon with the laptop that was on sale. In fact, he was telling me the exact opposite. He told me to buy the laptop now and bring in the college coupon email later and I would be refunded the $100 plus tax. So I did (I actually had to buy it through the Ankeny location and drive all the way to west Des Moines to pick it up because they were out of stock). Anyhow, I picked up the laptop at the WDM location on Saturday and today (Tuesday) I went in to the WDM location to get my $100 back on my card after I had to call the Best Buy help desk for my missing email. The customer service lady seemed very upset that I was told that I could buy the laptop and after the fact bring in the coupon. "Theyre not supposed to do that" is what she said when I told her multiple people told me I could. So obviously they need to get it together and decide. Long story short (

Walked around the store for 15 minutes waiting for help. Not a soul would come see if I needed anything. As I was walking out the guy at the door looked at me and not once asked if I found everything alright, or if I needed any assistance. I will not beg someone at a store to take my money if they are not willing to help. I work in retail and I will never have the poor customer service that these people do. I will never spend another dime in this place, I will drive to ames or des Moines if I ever need anything from a best buy. Save yourself the trouble, if you need something go across the street to Walmart or target.

I went shopping today for a prtinter and was very impressed with the help. Jeffrey, a young salesman, was more than helpful and explained all of the printers functionalities to me. He was very knowledgeable. He even helped me out when I expressed interest in purchasing a TV. Again, he knew his stuff and went out of his way to answer all of my questions and explain to me how the new features/technologies work. Will definitely be back to this Ankeny location when I decide to buy a TV.

Went in to buy a Garmin GPS for my husband. I couldnt find what I was looking for so I asked an associate to help me. He actually found EXACTLY the GPS I had been looking for at a reasonable price! I was very happy with the service I received from the associate that waited on me. This is the second GPS I have....I got one previously for myself from Best Buy also. Best Buy is best place to get GPS s if you are looking for a variety to choose from.

These people are idiots. Best Buy claims "expert service", but the guy on the phone said he couldnt tell me if they had the product I needed, despite giving him exact details. The reason? He had NO IDEA what I was talking about, even though its a product they sell in the store. Going to the in person yields 0 experts as well. If you know what you want or what youre doing, do not go to this Best Buy - complete waste of time.

Have been going here for years. I repair computers so have not used geek squad, but have always found good deals on laptops without going online. They will price match Amazon so that is a very good positive about here. They have lots of home automation products such as the Samsung smart hub, and a couple other less known brands. So you get good prices and selection for nerdy things without the wait!

I just went into this store and had a couple of questions about a laptop I was about to purchase. I was talking to the associate and a man interrupted us. Instead of telling him, "Excuse me sir, I will be with you momentarily. " or something like that. ..he just walked off with the guy. Then he came back and apologized. Then it happened again! In the middle of our conversation. I walked out.

I have bought a 2 TVs a DVD, monitor, headset, webcam and a modem over the past few years. Excellent service for me. Always been pleasant and helpful. If I could not find it they helped me. One associate had problems finding the headset I wanted, but gladly looking on the computer where it was and went right to it. Not sure why all the bad experiences, a bit surprising.

I know some people give Best Buy a bad rap, but my experiences have been very good. Ive purchased enough items in the last year to become a Best Buy Elite member. I think really what it comes down to is research the item you are shopping for. You can save yourself a great deal of grief by finding out in advance by consumers what items/brands are going to be crap.

Its great having a good electronics store in Ankeny. The staff is eager to help, including checking inventory at other stores. They match prices with Amazon, so I prefer to keep some of my money here in Ankeny. It is one of the smaller Best Buys around, which means they dont have as large of a selection.

I bought a ten dollar used xbox game and it wouldnt play. I asked about the return policy before I bought it and was told it was fifteen days. Called them back the same day and they refused to return it. Im glad it was only ten dollars and not the more expensive purchase I will be making later this month.

Staff is helpful in getting you all that you need and wont push you into stuff you dont need. Only Lil thing is staff is sometimes hard to find but thats usually because they are busy helping other folks get everything they need. Have patience and youll be taken good care of.

Took a pc in for hardware repair, they disabled my password and scanned my hard drive for viruses etc, then tried to charge me for the scan. Very obtrusive techs. They have no reason to be looking at business files when doing a warranty repair on a fan.

I bought the most expensive Logitech headset in the store. The sales clerk said it would work with Windows 7 OS. I got it home and found out it only works on XP Vista and the mac OS. It doesnt work on W7. All my computers run on W7. What a joke.
