I visited Home Depot on behalf of a company that does $1MM business with Home Depot. I was asked to get plumbing supplies and some quotes for bidding purposes. It was a very slow time at 5:30 pm on this Saturday evening. There were several people at the counter standing nothing to do. I took my merchandise to the service desk because it requires some paperwork. The first person at the desk does not want to do anything. I brought the representative of the company on the phone. She spoke to another lady at the service desk. That lady mentioned everybody who could help are gone at 3:00 pm and nothing could be done until Monday. After speaking to my company representative, she brought another lady who constantly repeating that my company should be doing $125,000 business a year or $10,0000 business as a contractor to get this discount. In any case none of the person just look at the computer to find out further detail. By this time there were 4 people involved in this transaction and none of them took any information, phone no. of the company etc. Sadly, I took my business to Lowes and got my discount as well. I was sad because it was nobodys fault and Home Depot lost the business. As a business professional I can see what went wrong. 1. 1st person who was sitting at the service desk should not be at the service desk if she does not want to help the customer. It is a Service Desk, where a customer goes to get the information. All the information should have been taken from me to address the situation in a professional manner. She seems scared to take the information. IT IS NOT HER FAULT. 2. The time has gone when an associate calls to another associate and another associate call other associates to get the information. The people at Service Desk should be knowledgeable to take care of all customer needs. Sitting at a desk and/or on the phone while customer flounders around is not the service model of this era. 3. The existing business model will never work for Home Depot to be profitable. Home Depot must change with time or becomes part of the A&P Stores, Pan AM Airlines and/or KODAK. of the past. 4. It is not a criticism of the people who work for Home Depot, it is the total system is at stake. A CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT ONLY A TRAINING BUT AN ART AND REQUIRES MOTIVATION TO GET THINGS DONE. 5. How we do this? It is not a mystery. Some companies know how to do better than other companies. 6. Paralyzing the customer with the information, service or anything they need. Service person should become their crutches so the customer cannot walk without it. I know Home Depot can do better than this.

Worst discison I have made when it comes to having a new front entry door installed. Ordered door in May and still trying to get the installation completed and its now the end of December. I now have cold air blowing in through the gaps and snow filling in where the caulking is missing. New door installed wrong, then reinstalled wrong. Was told that Home Depot was going to reorder and would replace to door. Still waiting for the new door. I have called and left messages to get a update on the order and to make sure the new door was truly order. Still no call back. I could list twenty things that have gone wrong, but I will just close this review including this. Buyer beware: We choose to go with the 0% financing for 18 months because there was no discount for payment in full. We use the Home Depot card to start the order. We got the first bill and there was no 18 month term. So we called and Home Depot. The billing department informed me even though we spent close to 4000.00 for the door we only charged 1000.00 to the card to get the order started, so it didnt qualify for the 18 months. I said what about when you add the rest of the balance. The lady informed me I could call them back then. Luckily we where able to just pay the balance and not get stuck on the phone with the billing department again or paying the high interest rate. Home Depot Noblesville has always been good. This review has to do with the special order department which for them the overall review would be a Zero

Went to the hardware aisle to get some garden trim spikes. Was told to go out to gardening (all the way across the store). Once there, I looked around, couldnt find them, and asked for help from the gardening sales guy. He looked around on the computer (as well as seeming irritated that I bothered his movie-watching on his phone) and said theyre back in aisle 9/hardware. So I drag my 2 children and cart of goods back through the store to aisle 9. Ask a different clerk the second time, he confirms the spikes are outside in gardening. At this point I go ahead and search for the item I need on Lowes website because Im about to leave. Unfortunately the home depot item pops up on Google, so I check it and see the SKU number. I go ahead and trek back to the gardening section, searching again on my way to the check out counter outside. I ask him to run the SKU, he does, and then confirms that the spikes are in the gardening section and to "just look around, they gotta be around somewhere." Right. Well thanks home depot for showing me that although you guys are closer to me than Lowes is, it will still save me a lot of time to go to a place of business that cares about its customers. See you guys never!

ORIGINAL GRIPE: If you come here, be intentional and dont plan on getting any useful advice. No mobile payments either and the PayPal option is just you using your PayPal credit card LOL. What a joke. NEXT GRIPE: Employees still clueless and avoidant. They only stock coffee beverages in the garden checkout, and now you can’t give store credit to others. It’s a policy change aimed at improving shrink. Where this screws customers is when contractors return excess material bought by the home owner of which I can’t use the store credit now. That’s my money I spent. Brilliant. So instead of trying to keep inventory from walking out the door- they adopt an erroneous program change from Lowe’s that does more harm than good. This is why Amazon is kicking your ass. Good luck out there!

Screw this place. Got a chainsaw from here and it was messed up. No big deal I know things can happen. Well I take it in the beginning of June 2015 to have it serviced and they said they had to ship it out. Ok again no big deal. So 2 weeks go by and I get a call saying it was done. Well it wasnt done and they didnt even do a thing with it. So they ship it out again and I finally get back today 8-12-15. 2 and half months later I get the thing back. They never communicated with me or anything. All the lady kept saying is Im sorry. I will not ever go back and purchase a thing from a home depot again.

Do you like being the only one in a store? Like having people make you feel as if you are putting them out by asking them to do their job? If so this location is perfect for you. If not, you should drive a mile south to the Lowes Hardware store as their customer service is marginally better. I have been to this location twice and walked out empty handed both times because nobody wanted to assist me, at all. Their loss. I will not be back to this location.
