Friendly staff in the store. A nice place to buy a gift or to window shop for the various hobbies they carry. A few minor annoyances, though: Shelves are kinda bare...but then Im comparing them to the hobby shops I grew up with which were absolutely packed with model kits and such. Just not enough depth to keep a serious hobbyist interested...but then maybe Im just not the customer they have in mind. And Lord knows there arent many hobby shops around anymore. But it reminds me more of a toy store than a hobby shop. It annoys me a little that internet pricing on many items is lower than instore pricing. It makes me feel like Im paying a fee for being local. I guess I would rather buy online from them than the evil empire that is Amazon, provided I could find what I wanted. I wish theyd have an instore pickup option though...Id love to get the internet price in the store without paying for shipping. They do run occasional coupon promotions, though, so give them credit for that.

THIS A FRAUD COMPANY THEY WILL NOT SEND EVERYTHING YOU ORDER AND WILL KEEP YOUR MONEY!!! FIRST OFF NEVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!! This company should get negative stars! The people who work at this company are the true definition of scumbags! You pay for you stuff and they never ship it, their customer service will not answer your emails and are rude and un-helpful when you call them. The only way to get them to ship your order is to open a fraud case against them which Is what I had to do before my order was shipped and even then I was given fake tracking number days before it was shipped. What a horrible company!!! This is just a update it took me opening a case with paypal to get them to send the puzzles I ordered weeks later and then they dont even send all of them, they included a invoice that said they refunded me the money for the puzzles they didnt send but I never received any refund and now I get no help when I call them they are thieves.

The 1 star I am giving this place is incredibly generous as far as their internet customer support. Currently it is the middle of the day and I am trying to get through to customer service for the status of an order of an "in stock" item I ordered and paid for 2 shipping on,,,, 1 week ago. I am calling because I received an email stating that the item I ordered is not in stock and delayed from the manufacturer, despite still being listed currently as in stock on the oakridge website. Also because they sent me this email 3 days after I ordered the item. I have called three times and am convinced that not only do they not have an "internet customer support center" but they deliberately throw you through the automated menu maze to ultimately hang up on you. SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEY ARE SIMPLY A BUYER AND RESELLER I wish I read the reviews first, and as of right now apr 2015 I can confirm that a lot of these other bad reviews are accurate.

This is based solely off of their ONLINE ordering process, which is completely terrible. Ive been physically in their store several times and have never had any issues, I actually really like their store for childrens toys and some hobby supplies. That being said, getting any type of ONLINE order information is IMPOSSIBLE through their online service. Emails go unanswered for any questions, and their phone service is terrible. Cannot get ahold of anyone to find out anything about my order, and they dont even put you on hold, they just hang up. I paid for 1 day shipping and it shouldnt take more than 4 days to process an order! Very disappointed especially when the item I need is for a gift and time is ticking. My advice is to go in the physical store if they have the item, dont order online, youll probably regret it.

Horrible customer service. 4 emails with no replies. Called twice, first time was told my product would be here by Christmas. Second call was told they werent sure I would get it since they order it from another company and have it shipped from THEM and not Oakridge! Listed as in stock on their website when I ordered. Tried calling back twice after this and got a message saying no one was available, but then I immediately called from a different number and got an immediate answer on the other end. Screening calls from upset customers I guess. Canceled my order. Thought this was an independent store with their own stock and not just some one making a commission on taking online orders. WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!

Wish I would have read these reviews before I ordered online. Placed my order December 5th and paid for upgraded shipping. Contacted them December 20th because I had no order confirmation, email, shipping notification NOTHING. Dec 21st they refund my whole order and apologize that they "oversold" and didnt have my item in stock. Did it really take 16 days to realize you didnt have a puzzle??? If I wouldnt have contacted you would you have kept my money indefinitely? Also now I have 3 days to get a gift for someone and have to find it locally in my tiny farming community. Great!!!!! Im sure that wont be impossible. Ruined Christmas.

I wish they had an option for no stars....spent over 2 grand 2 weeks ago and went in today for 1 part btw about 70 percent mark up and waited 20 mins while cashier talked about the weather to an elderly couple then went into another 10 minutes arguing over points for 5 dollars off their next purchase....just go to Michaels across the street for 50 percent off. 6 people behind me left. All so this cashier could ring up a 10 dollar order while about $200 walked out the door sick of waiting. I cant wait 2 return my 2 grand I spent my last visit....owner is a wonderful lady she needs staff that are aware of a line.. ridiculous!

Went in today to do some early Christmas shopping. I had been to their older store several times over the years and enjoyed shopping there. I wanted to see what their new location would be like. The new store is smaller, but now its nice and cozy and filled with toys that you dont see many places. The prices are also pretty good, as they are the same as they are online on their website. The staff is still the same great friendly staff and very nice and eager to help me find those special gifts. While I will miss their old store, this new one is still a gem.

Went to the store based on the stock of models, paints and RC Stuff their website claimed they had. Upon walking thru the doors I was immediately disappointed. Selection was terrible. Store doesnt seem to know what it wants to be. Is this a boutique toy store? A hobby shop? A doll house store? A Lego store? Who knows, and who cares, because the fact is it fails at anything it is attempting to be. Frustrated, one of the employees told me to order from them on-line. I did. I am waiting to see if I get my order. If I do, I will revise this rating to a 3.

Online service is dreadful. The money is taken out of your account the moment you place your order - two weeks later and I am still waiting to hear if my order has actually been dispatched. I have received no email or any confirmation other than my PayPal receipt. Tried calling and got nowhere. This is the first and last time I will be using Oakridge Hobbies.... I am now off to raise a dispute with PayPal concerning this crowd.
