HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE! Everthing about my experience with affordable care has been the absolute worse. I went in with a different prescription and at the time nothing was said about that being a problem. I went in a total of three times each time the receptionist (old russian lady) was rude. My insurance was covering everything, except a service they offered me. Basically to reduce my lense size and to reduce glare. I went in for my glasses and rushed out of there (as I was on my break) When I got to work I got my glasses out and saw that my left lense was HUGE in comparison to my right. It looks like i a magnifying glass. So I called and complained to the manager and he was rushing off the phone. I asked why when Im trying to explain to you why I am dissatisfied are you rushing off the phone? He said he had another call and to just stop by the next day. So I did that, I went in asking for an owner and for a refund. The owner refused to do so he did not apologize for his rude staff. Went as far as contacting security but even security could see he was in the wrong. Mall management contacted the owner who refuses to do anything. All in all this business is horrible I do not know how they are still open. It is clear the owner, manager, whole staff do not care about their customers. Do yourself a favor DONT SHOP HERE

Rude Dr with no people skills. She rushed through my daughters exam and was condescending in the way she spoke to us from beginning to end. During the exam, my daughter kept telling the Dr that she couldnt see through the lense, when she was focussing it. She was aggravated in her tone and words and told my daughter it isnt possible her eyes are that bad, and kept having her look through lenses that werent her script. (My daughter is almost legally blind without glasses.) She ended up giving my daughter a wrong prescription and when we picked them up, my daughter could not see well through them and the Dr and female front staff both rolled their eyes at us and started laughing while looking at each other. She stated she would not redo the exam for the correct prescription because she already gave us one for the hear, per our insurance. Yes, the wrong one!!!!! Very rude and unprofessional staff. Went to the other eye Dr on the other side of the Gurnee Mills mall and had a great experience. They were surprised at the eyeglass prescription my daughter was given, after he did the exam.

I strongly suggest that next time your employees let the doctor what kind of exam he or she is doing and that they say PLEASE. It is unbelievable that I was treated poorly today. Specialy when I am given a new pair of contacts from the DOCTOR and when I get out of the exam room I am asked to pay for the contacts eye exam AND the new contacts. I did NOT ask for them. Then, I am ORDERED to put take the contacts off and throw them away. Excuse me? I wasnt even asked to do so, politely. I am not responsible that your staff doesnt communicate correctly and that they were not paying attention. The lady was blond with strong a Russian/ European accent.

I was doing a price comparison within the mall. The front end lady was very impolite, rude, inconsiderate toward the customers. She cant even speak English well. I asked about a special they had and she clearly pointed out a rack from 1970s with 1980 to 1990 glasses. Ive worn glasses since I was very young and I get a pair every Two years so the style selection was a disgrace. That lady rolled her eyes at me 3 times I dont expect that from. A lady way past 40. Dont buy from this busineess. Its not worth in aggregation. I didnt purchase a thing due to additude, lack of newly updated glasses and the store smelled like burnt pork chops.

very satisfied,good service and doctor!!! about medicate customers: FYI management always tell you to make an appointment and you will be taking as you come in at your time,maybe 5-10 min wait,like at any doctors appointment. I was there when that person was there and he was asked politely several times by the staff to please make an appointment like other people do so you can walk in and not wait,but when you do the walk in hours you need to let people with appointment go first,after all its only fair,they did wait for over 2 weeks for their set up time.And also very few places accept medicate, most do not.

They are horrible! Never go to them. I went today as it is close to my house.They dont give much care to Medicaid customers. I waited an hour. Others walk-in customers were being seen before me. When pointed out, the tall gentleman got so rude and said he did not want to see me. He was said to be the owner. Please please never go there. How can he refuse to give service to me? He discriminated against me. I m over 70 yrs and he had no respect for my age! What a pity!!!

The people I have encountered here have maybe not got the most friendly disposition but they have offered me really great prices and have done me several favors. I really believe they want to help people but of course they also have to make a profit. Maybe their bedside manor isnt great but their rates are the best around. If you need a simple eye exam they charge at least $40 less than most places.

The guy at the front was very nice and respectable. Dr. Goldberg on the other hand, I didnt like her or the lady receptionist. They both lack people skills. Rude and frowning for no reason. When working with children you should really smile more, I promise it doesnt hurt. Do yourself a favor and try other places before you come here. Good luck if you give them a shot. Never again for us!

I have been going here for years. The price is in my budget, but I went here for glasses after 2 years of wearing strictly contacts. For a contact exam it was $65.99. Over the phone they told me $45.99. Also the employees were EXTREMELY rude. In all my years of coming here I never been so disappointed in there services until now. They use to be really friendly, dont know what happened.

The worst optical in the world customer service is bad bad and the doctor that I saw for my child is so super bad person she trade so bad to my child n she dont want to speak inside in other language she said that she speak russian she wanted to talk to me in russian thats no the way to trade a customer

TERRIBLE service. I had to call over and over again for my glasses only to get the same excuse each time. Took over 4 months to get them when it was only supposed to take 4-6 weeks. Very unfriendly phone and front desk service. I will not be coming back.

Very rude, especially one female in particular, a Russian person perhaps, or Eastern European, she has a strong accent. Mean and inconsiderate person who rushed us through our whole experience buying glasses for our little boy. AVOID.

I had very good experience at Affordable Optical, starting from my eye exam and ending with picking out frames. Good customer service, great doctor. All made me very happy, will be back!!!
