The security guards always follow me until I get into the checkout line. One security guard sprinted across the store as I was walking to the register which is by the door. Racial profiling at its best. I dress normal and fashionable (pants around waist and fitted, glasses, my friends say Im a hipster, I always wear nice shoes). I talk like an educated person (BS in biology). I drive a nice car. But security still hover around me, usually the nearest and only black guy in the store, when I go. One time when another black person (woman) was in the store I saw security running back and forth between us until I left, then he just hovered around her while I was at checkout. definitely got his exercise for the day. Free advice: want to steal from here take a black person to distract security and white ppl to do the taking. Just saying... free shoes.

This place use to have great prices in the old days but prices have crept up in recent times. Dont get me wrong because I still love shopping here. I am a big fan of Kenneth Cole Reaction Shoes. They fit me perfectly and never need to be broken in. I can go from box to a 12 hour day on my feet and my feet feel amazing. Thanks KC! Once I priced a pair of KC shows at $299 on Michigan Avenue and then bought them here weeks later for $99. I should have bought 3 pair to prove a point but these shoes hold up really well plus my Greek Shoemaker can fix any issues for like $10. He keeps my shoes going strong. Join the club and you will get points and rewards. There is a clearance section in the back. Make sure to check it out. Sometimes I get lucky. Remember there is free validated parking for 1.5 hours.

This DSW location is outstanding. Its a DSW like all others. They offer an outstanding selection and very competitive prices. This DSW tends to stand above the rest in their superior customer service. The employees are extremely helpful. This DSW is located in the Southgate Shopping Center. The best way to get to it is to enter via the center of the complex and go up the escalator to the upper level, or park in the upper level parking garage.

I had my heart set on a pair of snow boots that fortunately were my size. I got to the counter and I was told they were returned recently and were not supposed to be on the floor. She got the manager, and boy did he go out of his way to find a pair for me that worked! I absolutely loved his enthusiasm and how he took a genuine interest in my needs! Hands down, these employees are rock stars! I appreciate all of you so much!

In general, the sales associates are helpful. However, I had a pretty negative experience last weekend with a sales associate that was rude and was talking about me to another associate thinking I couldnt hear her. Not too impressed by their professionalism.

We like to visit DSW to buy our shoes. Prices are quite high and mens shoes selection not unique. But once in a while you can find a pair or two of original unique design shoes
