I am only giving them 1 star, because I have to give it something. I should give them ZERO, after todays service. Ugggh. Rudest salesperson on the planet tells me "thats what you get for having heavy calves." The story......... First: I went in to exchange some shoes, but didnt have a receipt as they were a gift. Explained this to the manager, and asked if I might be able to exchange at all if they carried the same shoe. He looked at me, while never getting off of the phone, and literally said, "Ok, but whats in it for me? I mean, are you gonna buy anything in the store or what?" bug-uuhhh?!I understand if your store policy is to not accept returns/exchanges without a receipt, but come on! Ive never heard anyone ask me that in a store. And it wasnt even like Im an odd shoe size. Im an 8. They carried the shoe. Secondly: Ok, so I said maybe I might buy a belt or socks or something. He hollers at a very old man to get me another size of the shoes I brought in.I wait. I go back to the counter 15 minutes later, and the shoes are just sitting on the counter. I said "I think someone got these from the back for me to try on....just gonna take these."I try them on. Its a no-go. These shoes just dont want to zip up all the way over my muscular calves, which I explain to the ancient salesman. His reply? "Well, thats what you get for having heavy calves. You wont find any boots thatll fit you." and followed it up with "You probably wont find boots like you want at all with calves like that. You need lace-up boots." How insulting! (ok, my calves are not that big!) Ive never been spoken to like that before, and nobody else should either. I will never give them my business again. Period.

I inquired by phone about their selection of Finn Comfort Shoes twice (its a bit of a drive for me to get there) and both the salespeople were more then happy to help me and let me know what they carried in stock. I went to the store today to purchase and the gentleman was very attentive and helpful. Its a full service shoe store like youd find back in the day which is a rarity. At todays malls and shops you will find store employees handing you boxes and and ringing up your order. That wasnt the case at Alamo. The gentleman who served me removed the cardboard from each and every pair of shoes I tried on (which was about 12 pair), stayed with me while I tried them on and made about 4 trips downstairs for me. Id definitely recommend this store to others who are looking for quality products. At the manufacturers website the same shoes would have cost me 285.00. The price at Alamo was 270 and I was given a 20 dollar discount which was great. (Ive got to add that Finn Comfort shoes are hand stitched/crafted in Germany and have cured my plantar fasciiatis.) If youre looking for cheap shoes you can find them anywhere. But if youre looking for some great quality name brands, orthopedic shoes, and great service then this is it. Your feet will thank you.

I used to love this place and I love shopping local when I can ,but not after today. I put a pair of boots on hold , granted I never checked the price. Then I went to pick them up today, I told the sales lady they are on sale and she argued they werent, about four other people got involved. They work there so I assumed they would know better, paid for the boots, which by the way are very expensive ( well at least expensive to me ). Checked boots on a table on the way out and they where on sale, they refunded the difference. I am not upset because they accidentally charged full price for a boot on sale, everyone makes mistake, they just gave me such attitude about it. I was made feel I was stupid and my business wasnt valued. Luckily for me there are millions of places I can buy my boots. Wouldnt be back

I suggest you have a better approach on how you give out your tokens to get out of your parking lot. It was very distasteful to have two different employees say that I need to buy something to get a token with a sour and unpleasant face because I was empty handed. One employee even went and picked up 3 different shoes to see if I would pick from the 3 and when I said I had a specific pair in mind he said wow as he turned his back and walked away. Rude! First time and last time I step a foot there. They carry brands I can easily find at Nordstrom and other retailers and I will definetely get the service I deserve.

I disagree with the reviews here that gripe about the service. The store is almost always super busy and the salepeople are perhaps a bit stressed trying to get to everyone, but the complaints I see here are distortions of the truth. I have shopped at Alamo for years. I am able to get in, find what I want and get out quickly and they have a good selection of good shoes, even for a big guy like me who needs a size 14. If you are a customer who understands how to get good service in a busy restaurant, you will have no problems at Alamo and you will surely find something there that you like.

Maybe its just my taste in footwear but I always leave this place disappointed. I always have high hopes that in going to find a pair of shoes that I like in here but never can. Except I have purchased a couple pairs of flip flops on sale from here. If you can find anything on the sale rack that suits your style you have hit the jackpot. The sales staff are very friendly and always ready and willing to help. I personally dont like asking a sales person to pull a size for me from the back and they do that here. Very practical footwear and unique footwear shop.

Love this place! Ive bought several pairs of shoes from them over the years. Good selection. Good prices with stuff on sale. But its the service I love. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. As a student, Im on a tight budget, and theyre happy to find something thats within my budget. I asked them about cleaning some leather boots I had. Instead of pushing me to buy some cleaner or other product they had, the sales guy told me about some household cleaning items I could try first.

I love this place. Its my first stop when I need to get new shoes. They have great inventory, good prices and an attentive sales staff. If you need help finding something particular (shoes for flat feet, better arch support, comfort soles, etc.), the staff will give you many options. But they will leave alone if you just want to browse. Theres free parking across the street with a token from the front desk.

I just bought a pair of Tan Naturalizer Sandals there today! They were cheap- half the price of that they are listed on the internet. The service was also superb- all the salespeople were super friendly and genuine! They also seem very plugged into the local community.
