Its been a year now since ive bought my BMW 530i from Selective Imports aka Sam and Jims . Sam and i had a rough beginning, my finances wasnt right but Sam made sure i got the best financing option that was available at the time and coached me on how to later refinance. Within the first month the thermostat on the can went, leaving me on the side of the road which was very embarrassing because my co workers were car pooling with me. Sam got an ear full from me but he always kept his calm always offering different ways to help every step of the way. After speaking with my mechanic he explained that these things will happen and that there wasnt any way for Selective to know it was going to fail. The reason why im giving them 4 stars is because these guys are great, Sam offered help im many different ways even when he didnt have to because he understood my frustration. While buying the car there was no pressure, i took my time drove a couple cars around and discussed what would be the best option. I have not had any issues with my car since then. P.S. I left off one star because Sam still owes me a steak dinner and a tank of gas ... I love these guys and i would definitely buy from them again.

Edited: Sorry I have not gotten back on here to do this sooner, but Sam at Selective made everything right. We finally got to the point where we had driven the car less than 250 miles but never got it driving again and decided to call Sam. He worked with us to work out a fair deal for both parties. I think now that it was a fluke, but still wish I had gotten an experience mechanic to look at the car before buying. ^^^^^READ ABOVE FIRST^^^^^ Within 2 days of buying a car from them, the Turbo went out. Which was weird timing of course, but I did not believe we were knowingly sold a bad car at that time. Frustrated, yes, but thought it was just bad luck. Upon my mechanic reviewing the damage, he informed that there was "no way" the dealer did not know about it being ready to go out . My fault, I suppose. I should have done more research and brought a mechanic to inspect. If you still wish to do business with them, bring a trusted mechanic along with you. Even then, be skeptical of everything you hear. Wanted so much to love this place as the day we bought it was such a breath of fresh air, but they did nothing to warrant any sort of merit.

I called this dealer on a Thursday morning in May 2015 to inquire about a van they had listed for sale. They were up front in the ad about transmission problems. I told them I wanted to drive 2.5 hours that Saturday to look at the van and please tell me if there is anything else wrong with it. They repeatedly told me that it just had transmission issues and that nothing else was wrong. I again called them on that Saturday morning and told them I was about to leave and please tell me if anything else was wrong with it . . . again, they reassured me that everything else was ok. I arrived at the dealership Saturday around noon, only to be greeted by the salesman who is now telling me that the van has a small coolant leak. I took the van for a test drive and it was running hot before I even left the parking lot. It overheated within a mile of the dealership. Everything about the car screamed a bad head gasket: rough idle, overheating, low coolant. I wasted 5 hrs and a tank of gas because this salesman lied about a headgasket problem.

A few tips: Bring someone along that knows about cars and what to look for under he hood.- a mechanic friend if possible. Even though it is used it should still be in good working order. Check all power windows, doors and locks. Test drive it, is there something rattling. Etc Check the tire tread, is it good or low? Tires are expensive. When negotiating remember think of things such as are both sets of keys available, cracks in the windshield, are the mats present. You can negotiate to have those items included. A lot of these vehicles are vacuumed but not clean, stuff spilled in carpet, cup holders. Negotiate the car to be detailed. AND the old walk out the door trick almost always works. So if they arent budging on the price say ok thank you, going to look at a few other vehicles and get in your car. Wait a few minutes hey will probably follow you out to counter. KBB the cars value, they will try to tell you that number doesnt matter but it does. At least you will have a comparable to go off of. Good luck!

Never in my life would i have imagined buying the first car i looked at while shopping. When i met Sam and Jim i knew i went to the right place. The cars on the lot speak for themselves and my new car was beyond immaculate in my eyes and the eyes of the mechanic i made sure to have look it over just in case. What really drove me to buy from them was the knowledge and care for a customer that both Sam and Jim show. They stand behind their vehicles and take care of the people that come in like they are family. They werent pushy, and even encouraged me to have it looked over by a mechanic because they do their job right. The one problem the mechanic could even find was 1 slightly loose bolt and they even reimbursed me for the inspection and fixed it without hesitation. They even gave me sources for a mechanic specializing in my car should i ever need one. Probably the single best experience i could have imagined and will happily come back again and have already been spreading the word about the best car lot ive ever been to.

I recently visited this dealer with a very good friend who was purchasing a car for her 17 year old daughter. Sam (owner) was very pleasant and understanding. He was patient while my friend thought through her options. He allowed my friend the opportunity to test drive the vehicle and was open to her completing a pre-purchase diagnostic check. We stayed several hours well past the closing time and Sams demeanor never changed. He was upbeat from the time we got there and remained the same throughout the time that we were there. Sam is not a salesperson. He is not pushy. He gives you space to think and make decisions without interjecting his opinion. Its not about him he puts the customer first. My friend bought the car and it was not only reasonably priced but in addition to that she felt totally comfortable with Sam. He was so forthcoming and honest. He shared the car fax report with her. The entire process was seamless! Thank you Sam! Youre awesome!

Honestly Ive never meet anyone like this in the auto industry. I am probably going thru one of the most difficult times in my life, 1st Im driving a car from another local dealership, been driving all night I pass by selective at about 6:30 am I call same at 6:50 am tell him Im not happy but looking at your cars are making me happy. Not only did he answer but he said I will be there shortly to talk to you. AN HOUR an a half before they open ( please dont do this I feel bad). He goes above and beyond for me. Sam thought that when I said Im not happy I was referring to cars, but I wasnt, it was seriously one of the most difficult times in my life, I feel like I meet a life long friend. You can buy a car from anybody but you will never find a guy like sam at another dealership, I would not allow anyone to shop anywhere else if I could help it!!
