This review is important for me to share as I believe in giving honor and credit where it should be given. I had the extremely unfortunate luck of putting quite a bit of gasoline that had been contaminated with water in my car a year ago. I’m only just now writing about it because it was resolved only recently. As soon as my vehicle reached Volvo of Savannah, I was reassured that they would take good care of me, my car, and get to the bottom of things. Of course I didnt know about the fuel when I had it towed there and upon learning this and not being "a car person," I didnt know how serious this could potentially be. I spoke often with Daniel Troup, who put me in a fantastic loaner car and kept me updated on the progress. After a little while, I communicated only with Pete Capehart, the Service Manager, once we realized that a longer, larger battle was ahead. I dont use the word "battle" lightly here as it was then necessary to file a claim with the large oil company whose contaminated fuel I had used. The recommendations from Volvo to the oil company on how to best fix my car were drawn up and sent in a timely manner. I was in communication with the oil company as well, but in terms of how to fix my car, Pete maintained communication with them and performed the oil company’s recommended repairs, which unfortunately did not resolve the issue. Then it seemed as though the oil company rep wouldn’t return Volvo’s calls for a while. Due to the severity of the damage and the “pre-contamination” condition of my car, the oil company was refusing to cover the costs. I didn’t expect this to be easy but I was a single lady working part time taking care of my father after his stroke and every day without a resolution brought me more and more stress. I was scared and very upset. I did not know how to fight this fight on my own. What were my legal options? What were my best options of the unacceptable few the oil company eventually gave me? I will be forever grateful that I had support on my side in the form of a knowledgeable friend, Pete, and Chris Dixon, Volvo of Savannah’s Fixed Operations Manager. Pete, Chris, my friend, and I sat down with the oil company reps and discussed the best course of action. Never once did I get the impression that Volvo wished to get my situation wrapped up in the quickest and easiest way possible for them. In the course of the meeting there were moments where I was being spoken to by an oil rep in a condescending manner. These men from Volvo went to bat for me as though I was a personal friend. In the end, the oil company paid for part of, but not the total cost of the repairs. Pete and his crew went above and beyond to make the final costs as manageable for me as possible. There are many more details of this story but it truly felt like we were in it together. The day I picked up my car, which runs beautifully, Pete carved out a large chunk of time to explain every detail, as my car’s file had become quite big at that point. I cannot imagine what this unfortunate situation would have been like had it been another company. Would I have received the same support? Just as I had been promised in the beginning of it all, my car and I were taken care of completely. I have intentionally chosen not to name the oil company but I will voluntarily sing the praises of Volvo of Savannah. Much thanks to Pete, Chris, and Daniel. I do, of course, recommend Volvo of Savannah without reservation.

This day was the worse experience ever. I made a service appointment for my wifes AC. I arrived and checked in, I was told to wait, which I did. Later was called to the counter and was told that the car loaner I coordinate would be ready shortly. As I stood outside and I saw a small 4 door Volvo and walked towards it to check it out. By the dirty looks of it, it appeared to be a customer car. While looking at the car, I was approached by a service agent, only to be told this was the loaner car I reserved. I inspected the car and found it filty inside and out, as well as it had a very strong cigarettes scent in the cab. I informed the service agent, only to be given the excuse that the car was turned in the night before, and that the carwash and detail person was not in this day. He also offer to spray the car with some sort of scented spray. I informed the service agent that this was unacceptable and that I was very displeased. He was very rude and condescending. To add insult to this already sensitive situation, as I retieved my valuables out of the filty car, another service agent approached me, who happen to the same race, which I found very offensive. He was worse that they first who was white. His demeanor, attitude and tome, very condescending and disrespectful, trying to force me to take the car by making excuses for the condition of the loaner, and that it was the only car available. He nor anyone in the service department offer the simple solution, which was (a) wash and clean the vehicle or (b) get another loaner. I guess he was sent out to deal with me because I am of the same race; unacceptable, unsolicited and unwarr anted. No paying customer deserves this treatment ever! The outcome was less than desireble. Ruin my day! The lack of care and fail Customer service, is a direct reflection of todays for profit business and also reflects poorly on the leadership of this business. As a paying customer, I deserve to be treated not with kids glove, but with the same dignity and respect other are treated, and their should consistency and transparency in communication. Specially in a service provider business such as this one. Yes, am I disappointed. My only hope is that these service agents will receive the proper customer service retraining to insure incidents such as this will never happen again. And yes, I will take my business elsewhere. I know I am just in customer to this business. However, I refuse to be treated with such disrespect.

From day one with my initial visit stepping into the car dealership, each and everyone of the gentlemen I spoke to were very amicable and helpful. Walter and Daniel were very consistent throughout the process of my car buying experience. I came by serendipity to Volvo of Savannah just looking and stopping by. I saw a couple of vehicles that struck my interest so I got numbers on them. The specific VW I was interested was a great deal, in fantastic shape however the radio did not work. My reaction to this issue was to go on and view other vehicles however, Walter and Daniel would not rest or stop until I was thoroughly pleased with the VW I spoke interest in. The gentleman ran the numbers, gave me an incredible deal (this dealership definitely looks out for veterans & military personnel) and had their finance manager Jim work it all out for me with a specific creditor. They WOULD NOT allow me to sign for the VW until the radio was replaced and therefore sent the vehicle to Savannah VW to be fixed. Volvo issued me a loaner vehicle for my work trip site visit and upon returning coordinating with VW the cost & ETA for amendment of the car. Paid for the replacement, gave me the service receipt and sent me on my way. This process took a week however the staff at Volvo, Walter, Daniel & Jim did not cease any communication w/ me and took great care of me in my situation. Definitely best experience at a car dealership I have ever had, and I have associates and friends who work in the business. Definitely extremely pleased with my vehicle, worth the wait and Im excited with my decision. Great car, great mileage, great deal & price where I wanted to be in my budget. I most definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill area looking to invest in a vehicle. Thanks Savannah Volvo!
