First I will begin by saying that the only reason I went here was because of the prior reviews I read, as I live out of town and was only here for work. I dropped my bike off to be overhauled $180.00. Came to pick up the bike and spoke to Felip. While being checked out by the kid with the hair that looks like he just got up. The bill is now $221.00 with out any explanation. I look and see a $36.99 charge for a chain which I never received a call telling me it needed one. Felip stepped in and had the charge removed. I walked to my vehicle and as im putting the bike in my suv its obvious to me that the bike was never taken apart as their complete overhaul states. I walked back in and spoke to Felip who advised the bike was disassembled and cleaned. Felip came out looked at the bike and he stated that the bike was indeed cleaned. After showing Felip stains from prior rides and voicing my displeasure over what they say they did Felip offered me a complete refund to which he was not able to complete as he will do so in the morning. As I told Felip i had a horrible experience with his shop and what appears to be a lack of customer service. This is not to mention the very disappointing issue of a specialize true fit which they are too busy ro complete on a Sunday. Looking back that was probably a blessing. Like I told Felip face to face my business will be taken some where else. That was my experience at Silver Comet Cycles.

I just finished 45 miles on the Silver Comet, and my geatr kept shifting down to the hardest gear for nearly half the ride. Yes, i had about thirty seconds of "easy" riding before it would go down to the hardesr gear. As you could imagie, It took a lot of the fun out of my ride...especially since I just spent more tan $200 to get my bike road-ready. After the ride, I dropped into Silver Comet Bicycles to see if thet could do anything. Dan and Jody quickly diagnosed the issue (and a couple more problems they found) and charged me just $12 for the service. They were so kind and knowledgeable. I was welcomed as soon as I hit the dor, something that rarely haplens at other shops around town. I live all the way in Gwinnett, and will be returning here for all my bikes needs.

Ive been using this bicycle shop since 2004. I havent been there in awhile and I guess a lot has changed. The staff I remembered was always friendly and courteous. I live a long ways from this bike shop but I felt a sense of loyal because theyve always treated me good over the years. So I decided to make the long drive to put my bicycle in their shop for a tune up. When I got there a young guy immediately said "we are booked up so if you want a tune up, it will take over two weeks to get to your bicycle". I said "over two weeks for a simple tune up, are you serious?" He said yes and walked off. I notice new name for the bike shop, new people so I guess things have changed. Went to another shop, they took my bicycle and it will be ready within one day.

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CAR/PERSONAL ITEMS!! My friends and I love the trail, however just yesterday after coming back from a ride, my sisters car was broken into (In Broad Daylight)! Along with over 6 other cars (window glass broken, etc). They stole her purse that was concealed in the back. According to the staffer/police officer, this happened last week as well! YET there is not one single sign up mentioning that you may want to be cautious as this has been occurring lately..there are NO random security checks on the lot (this can be done by a regular employee simply walking the lot periodically) or any precautionary measures in place. I see these signs warning people all across town in parking garages..THEY NEED SOME ASAP!

The people here are friendly and helpful, they even motivate you on your run, walk, bike, whatever it is you will do, prices are reasonable. The trail itself is awesome, beautiful, and loads of tiredness lol, however, be cautious. Too much violence has happened here, be smart on your routine, dont go alone, use the buddy system, park near and closest to the actual building, there have been many reported car break-ins, assault, and violence. If you see ghetto hoodlums lingering around... then its not meant for you to be on the trail, or report them and hope that you come back to your car. Best to go when its pretty out and lots of people on the trail during the day. Never go w/o pepper spray, a cell phone, and a 2nd person.

These guys are great! Straight forward and knowledgeable. As a new cyclist with not much experience, none of my questions were dismissed and they spent plenty of time with me answering and showing me different options. I have since purchased my first road bike here and have been completely satisfied with the level of customer service I have received up to and after my purchase. I highly recommend this shop! I have to point out that a couple of the 3 star reviews here are in regard to the Silver Comet Trail, and have nothing to do with the Silver Comet Cycles bike shop.

I have purchased bikes from several dealers in various places in the US over the years but recently Ive purchase 3 different types of cycles from this establishment, a road bike, a mountain bike and two recumbent trikes. Ive always found the service to be exceptional. Its very rare these days to get such professional and personal service and it all starts with the owner, Arno Woods. I would never consider purchasing a cycle from any other dealer.

Location Location Location - they have the best spot. Never really shopped there but had the opportunity to use them (twice) as a re-fuel stop on a very long ride. Helpful staff - but some of the used-car-salesman speak I heard from the sales people trying to sell bicycle made me want to hurl. Probably find for weekend warriors, but wasnt impressed by the knowledge (or lack there of) I heard while in the shop.

We took a 10 mile ride on the trail and rented bikes from this location. I hadnt ridden a bike in probably 10-15yrs (its true when they say its like riding a bike!) and the employees are helpful with suggesting which bike might be the best fit for you. We rented 2 bikes at $10 per hour.. since I hadnt ridden in a while that got us to exactly 5 miles there and 5 miles back. Id definitely rent from them again.

These guys are great! Here is my experience with them.. "Thank You so much (Monday afternoon riders) for helping out a fellow rider miles away from his car with a flat tire and zero knowledge on how to fix it and no equipment (tube, co2, etc) to fix it with! Ill plan on coming to your tire changing class as soon as I can! And hopefully stop by the shop tomorrow to get proper supplies! Thanks Again"

This is the best bike shop around. The staff is super friendly and everyone rides something different from BMX to ROAD, and everything in between. Be sure to ask for Felip or Lake, they will take good care of you. If you want a fitting Eric is the best at it. Guys, thanks for taking care of me and my family of 6 every time we come in there, they treat us like family. See you on trail...
