I have seemingly had great experiences at Publix Supermarket. I recently visited three locations in Florida (Miami, Pompano/Deerfield/Jacksonville), and had great experiences with the 3 seafood departments, therein. In Jacksonville, they shared I could get food steamed onsite, which worked well for me, as I was in town on business;and preferred to save a couple hundred rather than paying for a few $35-60 meals. I just flew back into Atlanta on yesterday evening, and thought I would visit the store closest to me, for a quick bite of lunch. I just left the Publix located 3 minutes from my home, and the experience went well here at 2159 Hwy 20 SE location... until I got to the seafood counter. I overheard a great interaction prior to me be assisted by a Luther I believe. I shared with him I had recently experienced great service and learned food could be steamed on site. He said they did that as well. In front of another customer, he asked was I using EBT today...and with a confused look I stated, I am not on EBT. He then continued to say how because you cant use the card when its steamed. This was said in front of another customer who then looked at me (How rude, prejudice and embarrassing). Though some Americans (Of all races) may be in a time of struggling with finances, and may need to be on assitance, please DO NOT ASSUME every young African American woman is. I then stepped away to grab a T-bone, which I planned to cook that evening and witnessed him laughing and making a joke with the guest who was awaiting to be served, directly after me. Upon coming to pick up my order, I inquired as to why he did not place food in a different container, and Luther gave an explanation. I then asked him why he assumed I was on EBT, and did not ask the guest after me, the same question. He said... "because alot of young sistahs, come in here and they are on EBT., and cant use card, if its cooked." Based on this logic, Luther assumed because I am young (29, and African American), that I am on food stamps, and failed to ask my causasian counterpart the same question. I am appalled that this type of assumption is being allowed, at a time such as this. He then said I should not be offended...Excuse me ?! I stated that I am, in fact offended and he should not use such assumptions in a position of service. I then inquired about speaking with a store manager, whom will be on break for another 1 hour. I pray during this time, and moving forward no one else will be treated in such a way. I will be calling corporate (email now, google review also noted)to make a complaint since the store manager Kraig Balon, is on break. I went in but didnt get what I needed but that doesnt stop them from being the best grocery store EVER!!! Since they came to Conyers and were in their previous location, they have continously wowed my family for years. They have the best service you could ever receive. Theyve had the same employees forever which is an added bonus. Theyre always clean, courteous, and always willing to assist with whatever you need. I just hate that Conyers has grown so much that I can barely get any shopping done let alone a parking space but thats my only complaint.

Im Lawrences wife, Melissa. I pass another chain grocery store that is 5 minutes away from me to get to this Publix in another town 25 minutes away from me. Why, because the employees are AWESOME! On my visit today, 4 employees greeted me BEFORE I reached the produce section! Ten of them had greeted me before I left the store. If youre ever in this Publix, look for Russ in the produce section. Hes the BEST!

One of the cleanest grocery stores in the area. The shelves are always organized and filled with products. Their vegetables are fresh and bright. Really appreciate selection of organic products too. Dont have to drive 25 miles away to Whole Foods in Atlanta as often now. Friendly people, always available to help and happy you are there.

Publix always comes through for me. I decided to have an impromptu birthday party for a friend. Got the cake, ice cream, chicken, salads, and wine at the store. In and out in 40 minutes and everything turned out great.

The store is very neat and clean and offers a good variety of fresh products. Most of the employees are outgoing and friendly, making you feel welcome and appreciated. This Publix is a cut above the rest.
