My last several visits to this Volvo Service Department have been less than stellar. I recently had my car in because of a damaged mirror. I was quoted a price and left them my credit card number & my car because I had to travel. When a family member went to pick my car up, they couldnt find my credit card information anywhere, so she had to leave her cc until I could get back to town. To make matters worse, when I arrived home and saw the bill, the charged amount was more than I was quoted. Their explanation... the quote didnt include taxes & fees. Really? Whats the point of a quote of service if it isnt going to match & why wasnt I told that up front? While they did work to remedy the situation after some back & forth and make good on their quote, it was a process I shouldnt of had to go through and there was never an explanation as to what happen to my credit card information that was written down & subsequently "misplaced". In addition to the repair cost ordeal, they sent me a "recommended" list of things that needed repair that totaled well over $1000. This included telling me I needed two new tires, because supposedly two of my tires were at a 4, even though I had just purchased a whole new set 6 months prior. I was in shock. This prompted me to take my car back to the place where I purchased the tires and watched the tech perform the same diagnostics test Volvo claimed they performed. The reading came back 9 two tires and 7 on the other two. How is it that the reading could be so drastically different? Plus, I took my car into Volvo with a "Tire Pressure Low" light on & asked for it to be checked & my car came out of the shop with that light still on and no resolution. They also knocked off a switch that controls the movement of my passenger seat, which was not replaced. My list could go on and on. At the end of the day, while I had a wonderful buying experience with the sales rep at Volvo for my car, and cant say enough great things about Anthony, the subsequent visits for service have been less than ideal.

I already posted a review in February as seen below, after our purchase of the 2012 S60. Now Id like to say a word about North Point Volvos service department. They are SUPERB! Fortunately, I generally had decent experience with dealerships like Toyota and Nissan. North Point Volvo, however, has been treating us so well that I feel guilty if I dont put in a good word for them. Our new S60 was scratched up a little in the bumper and NPV Service said that they got a paint-touchup guy who comes weekly and his charge would be quite reasonable. When it was all done they told me that it was complimentary. Also, the other day the brake light bulb on my old V70 went out and I couldnt find a replacement at auto parts stores. Therefore, I had to go to NPV thinking Id prepare to pay dealer price for a small bulb. And guess what? They replaced it for free! They definitely go the extra mile...........[Previous review starting here]..... We were certainly impressed by the sales experience we had with Ross Blaising. We already got a Volvo (purchased used elsewhere) and have always had a pleasant experience with the service dept and the dealership in general. This was our first time purchasing a brand new Volvo. Ross earnest and friendly attitude made us feel that he was there to help us and tried hard to earn our business, not taking us for granted. At the time of delivery, he spent a good amount of time explaining to us in detail how to fully utilize the car. My wife mentioned several times how impressed she was by that and wondered whether that was NP Volvos standard practice or Ross did it on his own. Thats how a premium auto dealership should be but believe me that they dont all treat you that way.

Ross is fantastic!!!! Energetic, organized, professional, knowledgeable, friendly......need I say more? I love my new 2012 Volvo S60. Buying a new car can be stressful and time consuming--something that I usually dread. However, in this case, Ross made this happen with next to no effort on my part. The transaction went smooth and without a hitch from start to finish. Through the internet I let Ross know what I was seeking for a monthly payment. I didnt care how he go there...just get there. And you know what? He did! Actually, he did better than that. My payment is LESS than what I had requested!!! My monthly payment is only $4.80 more than what I had been paying on my 4X4. Believe it or not, aside from the thrill of purchasing a new Volvo, is the fact that Ross added the personal touch. My husband is in Afghanistan and my family is my two little Shih Tzus, Cookie and Mugs. When I arrived at the dealership, I left them in my vehicle. Ross quickly realized this and asked me to bring them in. When I did, he immediately sat on the floor and played with them! I was so impressed by his behavior that I knew immediately that this set him apart from the typical car salesman. Ross is more than a salesman, he is the ultimate professional!!! I also want to tip my hat to Greg, finance manager, who made the transaction smooth and relaxing. He too welcomed Cookie & Mugs into his office with warmth and comfort. I cant say enough kind words about this dealership. The entire experience was professional and stress-free. North Point Volvo--YOUR THE BEST!!!!

No one really enjoys spending money on service but when you can trust your repair shop of choice and you are treated well it certainly makes it easier to digest. I have never before used a dealer to maintain my vehicle, but when I compare prices, this dealership is right at the same price I would pay if I took it to a shady mechanic who works on every brand under the sun. On top of the price I know that it is always OEM parts and when there are issues with specific models etc, they will know about it making repairs cheaper or easier to diagnose. I have been taking my XC90 to this dealership for the 4 years I have owned it. I bought it used and out of warranty from auction and this dealership has been maintaining it since. I have been very happy with my experiences but was blown away by my last one. I had a concern with my car that I really thought would lead to very expensive repairs. The dealership went so far above and beyond to diagnose my issues. I have never seen another shop go to these extents nor could I ever expect one too. I asked the service manager (Adam) who I could speak to about my great experience and he told me that spreading the word would be the best way. So here it is. If you are looking for a Volvo repair shop and have been weary about taking it to a dealer, this is your place.
