I have been going to harbor freight tools for a long time. I am a tradesman and a home mechanic. That being said here is my advice on what is worth while and what is a waste of time. "If" you are a once in awhile do it yourselfer then most of the tools here are of good enough quality to get you through most jobs. And if maintained properly should last you quite a while. "If" your like me and beat up on your tools, and need to push your tools too the limit then I recommend staying away from the electric power tools. Not that they are all that bad, but if you need reliability then get a solid name brand. Heres a list of some of my highest recommended purchases. Auto jacks, stands, lifts, pressed etc are of great value and quality. The red tool box that has the patent number on the inside of the drawers was actually a original snap-on tool box patent sold to harbor freight. Its a awesome tool box. I have 2 of them. I also recommend signing up for the insider deals. I really like this place just research certain items b4 you buy, and get the warranty on power tools.

In general men are more knowledgeable about tools (or at least pretend to be), I was in yesterday and asked the cashier up front where things were and SHE was very helpful. Keep in mind this is a discount specialty store though quality of merchandise varies greatly and just because a staff person seems knowledgeable about the inventory does not qualify them as a specialist. Lots of interesting specialty items fun to browse if your a tool guy. Just use your common sense if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Very poor customer service, I spoke to a representative "Bob" over the phone who was extremely rude. I may be one customer however one customer makes a difference and the management should look into customer service training for the persons representing their business. At the end of the day your store may have what persons need but if customer service is poor, persons will find alternatives."I guarantee, they will"

I love this place but today 10 people in line. So thankful when a 3rd register opened. Ugh. One of the girls on a register picked up a box of stock to put out, back to 2 registers. PS the 4th girl was handling the organization of carts. Needless to say at checkout I politely suggested that they reopen the register. She just looked at me like a deer in the headlights.

Dont bother calling their phone number to see if they have something in stock, Ive called 4 seperate times spanning 3 days and I have just been put on hold and either no one ever picks up, or I wait 20 min to get hung up on. Just go to the store, but make sure you find a guy because the women that work there are worthless as they dont know anything

went to purchase a work bench today that i looked at a few days ago. Staff was efficient and friendly and helpful. Product was just as described in reviews, and in my opinion, better. workbench for $169. Could not be happier. Will be back soon Sam
