My gentle MaltePom, Sarah, has been regularly groomed by a terrific lady in Huntington Beach for 7 years. Our stay in Manteca has been extended so I had to find a groomer in this area. I picked PetSmart because I was previously satisfied with their work in their Massillon, OH store. Sarah arrived promptly for her 8:00 a.m. appointment and I gave Holly all the requested information. I was told it would take 3 hours. At 11:30 a.m. I called PetSmart and was advised that Holly was still working on Sarah and it would be another 45 minutes. At 12:30 p.m. PetSmart notified me that Sarah was ready to be picked up. It had been 4 1/2 hours since I dropped Sarah off! I spoke with Holly and later with her manager, Bridgette, about the length of time this appointment had taken. Both were very polite and patient with their explanations, which centered around their procedure of grooming several animals at the same time. They did not apologize for the fact that a 3 hour appointment took 4 1/2 hours. In all fairness, I found Sarahs grooming to be adequate and I was assured a note would be placed in her file regarding my concern about this prolonged grooming experience. Will I return to this particular PetSmart? Dont know...... 2/17/16 I did return to this PetSmart and wish to congratulate them for their policy change. Pat (groomer) did a spectacular job with Sarah in a very speedy manner. Many thanks!

Do the groomers at Manteca PetSmart really want to be working there? Every experience Ive had with them has been horrible, as they lazily look for excuses to get out of doing any work. PetSmart lost the files on my dogs, so I had to get another copy of their rabies vaccinations. I took care of that with Northgate Veterinary. I then went back to PetSmart to make sure they had the rabies information updated on their files. On my next visit it was, "we cannot get ahold of the Vet to confirm their rabies vaccination"??. You can imagine my frustration over this dam rabies policy and more importantly, their incompetence in maintaining a file on my Two SMALL Terriers. Finally today it was, "You are no longer in the system; We routinely boot people out of the system; Sorry". I do not routinely carry All the paperwork on my dogs shots and medical checkups to get their nails done? What is their obsession with rabies in small house dogs, and their mismanagement of my dogs files in their system. Then they boot everything out of their system? Im DONE with PetSmart. Its All Great when I spend Hundreds of Dollars on food and accessories, but when I need service from them, it is one excuse and administrative blunder after another.

I currently have my dog enrolled in their dog training classes with Heather Himes. She is awesome. I was skeptical about signing my dog up for a class at a pet store at first, but I had been turned down by so many other trainers that I was desperate for help. Heather reassured me that my class was 100% guaranteed, which I thought what could I loose. I was too embarrassed to bring my dog out in public or have anyone come over to my house. Heather helped build my confidence and understanding in and of my dog. She helped me understand why my dog would bark, and lunge at other dogs, and had so much patients in socializing. She showed me how to correctly redirect, and all of the important obedience my dog needed. I currently bring my dog everywhere I go with no hesitations. The process took a bit of patients, but the results have really helped me to enjoy my dog, and my life again. Heather has really been a life saver! She is very good at what she does, and has plenty of experience. I wouldnt bring my dog anywhere else!

Waste of my time. This place is terrible because when I made my grooming appointment online, I booked it for 5 PM, and then on the day of my appointment they called to say that they need it 2 hours earlier because there are too many dogs. So I bring my dog in early and then they come up with the excuse that she was "stressed", and couldnt commit to the appointment. So after I went out of my way to take my dog to get groomed, they cancel it. After I had to take my dog back, I pet her for a minute or so and she calmed down. All the employees had to do was just TRY and calm my dog down for a minute and we couldve gotten the appointment going. It was very urgent that my dog get groomed. If the employees were actually as devoted to their jobs, they could go one minute out of their way to destress my dog. Definitely do NOT recommend this place. Waste of my time.

I sent my wife with our pug here for training. They did a wonderful job, knowledgeable staff. Although I was very pleased with the dog training and will recommend to friends, they didnt do very good with my wife. She still bites and scratches and refuses to follow commands. Excellent rating because I knew the dog was trainable and I have failed for almost 10 years trying to train my wife.

Staff needs to work on costumer service skills. There is one girl in particular who looks like she just hates being there. Ill update with her name if I see her the next time I go in, shes there every time Im shopping so it will be easy. One great thing about this place was a dog trainer who previously worked there, Wally, we enjoyed working with him a ton.

Staff is always available to help and answer any questions about pet food and pets. They carry a great assortment of pet foods, and on many occasions, Manufacturer Representatives are in the store to answer questions and guide customers to the right pet food;, even if its not the brand they are their representing. I love this pet food Store!!!

The employees are so helpful. They are very knowledgeable and go above and beyond for customers. They have pets available for adoption. They have a huge selection of anything you could ever need for your pets. Prices are a bit high, but I dont mind paying higher prices for better service and selection.

Got a new puppy and have no idea on what kind of dog food to feed her and a gentlemen there named John and he was so helpful and kind took time out of his job stocking to show me where the food was and explained it to me. One happy puppy and mommy.

Took my dog in for trim and wash (Golden Retriever). They did a great job! Good prices and open long hours on weekends. Thats why I like them. Local groomers are a bit cheaper but not as convenient. March 2012... N.Reynolds
