i have come to this store for many yrs, i give this store on average $ 2500 every month, and i give them many chances, from the supervisor, to the manager, to the owner son Kevin to the owner George, every time i order my feed and hay for my animals dog food, med, 90 % of the time i dont get it on time, and just make excuses, and make me fill guilty, just because they dont have my order, i call , and i call they put me on hold for up to 13 minutes, when i requested to talk to the manager they hung up on me, , when i call back , i asked for Kevin or George the owners, and they that cant be true,, i purchased , 30 Americana chicks that had to be pullets female, all ended up being roosters, , when i call and i requested, some help i was told by the supervisor, and then the owner, that they do not guaranty the sex, , however they mark them as pullets female,i requested price drop on them , and i was told not to call them again, , i will goo to elverta supply , or a tractor supply , and not allow this rip offer, dirty tactics to , do this again, and i just like to inform you all about this terrible experience, so they may understand that we the people are not stupid and in 2016 wee can close them down, united we can do it, i got a rabbit from them that i was told that is female , ended up being a boy,, very cute, i had to fix him, i requested return ,for exchange the manager told me they do not except return, ,i purchased whole corn that ended up being full of mite, and bugs, because the bag was open the supervisor told me they cant take it back, , and the prices went up on all the feed $4 to $5 each bag, food source has a better prices than river valley by far , costumer service and managers are much better, i order my feed with them for last few moths and my order is in on time,my hay comes from elverta and always on time, , my dog food and med comes from tractor supply and always on time,

I usually stop at River Valley Feed 1 to 2 times a week. I have been a customer for over 20 years. Recently the store has stopped providing any type of carry out bag for the customers to use when they buy a large amount of items. Today was one of those occasions when I had a significant amount of items in my purchase. After the purchase was complete, the clerk said they would try to find a box. There was no box available and I was again informed that they had stopped supplying bags on the instruction of the owner and accountant. I was also told that this was a result of the State of California charging them for their bags. I informed the clerk that I considered not supplying any method of transporting my merchandise extremely poor customer service and for them to inform the owner of my complaint. The clerks present seamed to take my complaint as directed at them personally and were not very courteous after that . I was forced to reload my purchase bag in a plastic cart, take it out to my car, dump the items into the passengers side, reload the items into a container when I got home and take them inside. This decision by the owner/manage is an extremely poor one and a prime example of poor customer service and lack of consideration. With other feed and pet stores within a 20 minute drive, doesnt seem all that business savvy or smart when it comes to keeping loyal customers

Asked for item and was given it, paid, on the way out asked more about the item as it was my first time using said item, found out it would NOT be for my exact use. Told employee what I needed EXACTLY from the product and she showed me the very best thing for my needs. Sense I already bought the first item I asked if I could get a refund on the first item that would go to the second item, she quickly said yes with a smile on her face. I mention this because now a days most stores I go into the employees, whenever a situation calls for it, wont even mention a refund or return. They play the "If I dont mention it maybe theyll take the product they dont need and just paid for and leave" game, you know, when the employee plays dumb and unless you (the customer) mention the solution theyll continue to feign ignorance. Then when you do mention "return" or "refund" they get this look of absolute disgust in their face, almost like if they smelled a fart. But these girls where very courteous even as the fault was mine for not asking more questions before purchasing the product. In short, great customer service!

Every time I have either called or gone into the store my experience has been negative. In person I have been ignored by the associates, as they discuss their weekend or divulge gossip while I stand there waiting at the counter for someone to answer my question. At 8 months pregnant no one would help me drag or lift my 30 lb dog food bag. On the phone they are not well spoken and are very informal. It is reminiscent of a gum chomping teenager. All of these things alone are not my problem with River Valley. I Drive 10 miles out of my way for my pet needs, because of all of these things combined. River Valley doesnt care about my business so I dont care about giving them my business. A new pet store opened up on Elverta I recommend them or Pet Food Express in Roseville at the fountains. Pet food express employees are professional, knowledgeable, helpful and so very professional.

Horrible customer service!!!! I was waiting outside the gates at 8:53am 7 minutes before they opened when some sling blade looking guy comes out to open the gates I back up and he tells me I have to move and he wont let me in to park and wait the whole 5 minutes until they open and says they might not even be open by 9am!! So I am told to back out into on coming traffic to move rather than just be let in to wait until they open. Not only was this ridiculous it made even less sense when I called right at 9am and they were open I left and will never go back there. I had beed buying all my supplies for my kennel for the last 2 years there but never again. The prices are standard and apparently they hire employees with the same IQ as the livestock they feed. There is better feed store on Eleverta in Rio Linda you can google it this one was just closer to me.

Been going to this feed store a long time. They finally managed to lose me as a customer. And let me say I tried a long time to like these people...Rude kids in back. Manager is really not on top of things. Poor customer service. Its just not worth saving a few bucks to be treated so poorly... And i would drive out of my way to get there wanting to save a few bucks...They lost my money and time no more dealing with theses jokers. Be warned... Also, watch for reps of food brands trying to steer you in wrong direction... Thought that the person actually worked there who offered me help in choosing a dog food... Turns out it was just a pushy rep wanting me to buy their brand... My dog is diabetic... they had be buying a grain based kibble... I would give two middle fingers up here if i could...
