I had been visiting various bicycle stores around Orlando for a couple of weekends, and found them to be a very mixed bag. Late on a Saturday afternoon, after hearing competing sales pitches from four different stores, I walked into Advanced Cycles and met Laz. What a different attitude from the other guys. At "the other places" I felt like the salespeople were trying to steer me towards the highest-priced model on the showroom floor, or would tell me that the size of frame I needed just happened to be the one that they had. Seems like none of them were very bothered about actually taking measurements. Laz was totally different. He asked questions to clarify what kind of riding I was into, and what kinds of features were important to me. He really listened and helped make a sensible purchase decision - not the most expensive bike, but the one that suited me for right now, at an acceptable budget level, but all the time providing pros and cons of upgrading this or that as an option. Long story made short, Ive been back to Advanced Cycles twice since last weekend, and today he fitted a Garmin Edge 510 to my bike for me, checked that the sensors and heart rate monitor were working, walked me through the 510s screens and operation, and showed me how to customize my data and use the Garmin Connect website. I recommend Advanced Cycles without hesitation - Laz and his team are a model of what it means to provide that rare thing these days: "service with a smile".

After loosing a few lbs by lifting/jogging for almost 2 months, and after getting positive advice about the sport from my lovely neighbors, I decided to try the sport of cycling; boy let me tell you....Im hooked!! I love it!!! I wanted a bike with a smooth ride, without an overly aggressive geometry, fast and responsive. After riding for 3 days The Scott CR1 exceeded my expectations. For this rookie, my bike handles like a dream. The Shimano 105 group, shifts great and eventually wont be cleaning my wallet for an upgrade later one. This Scott CR1-20 is awesome. Customer service during my visit at Advanced Cycles was very pleasant; they answered all my questions and concerns. I tested about 4 different bikes and to be honest, I got into the problem of deciding between aluminum or carbon, but after talking for a while with Lazaro (Owner) who elaborated about the pros and cons, the benefits of the store and told me straight up “if you dont feel comfortable, I wont sell you any bike in the store to make money" .I went ahead and jumped to the dark side! So, as a trainee, maybe I went too high on the type or price of bike but, I decided to go all the way with a carbon for many reasons (quality, components and durability). I can say that this bike will keep me in the sport of cycling for a while. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

If youve ever wondered why you always hear "buy from your local bike shop" but never had a valid reason why...Laz at Advanced will change that. I live 2 hours away from the shop and would gladly make the drive for Advance to be my local bike shop. From the minute I called I got great customer service. Laz got the exact bike I wanted for me and got it shipped from Cervelo same day..The day it came in he put it up on the stand and built it up for me while I was in house...As I was there for a while since the bike was being built up I got to see him deal w/ customers calling or stopping in every 5 minutes and as anxious as I was to get the bike finished so I could ride it..I couldnt help but notice how well every customer was treated no matter what their question or what kind of bike they had. I have dealt w/ alot of bike shops and Ive tried to do the buy from the shop thing, but never understood why Id pay more than I can get it online for just to get treated poorly by the bike snob @ the shop...after dealing w/ Advanced I now have a shop where I will gladly do my business and be confident that they will meet all my needs and do it happily! Thanks again Laz.

A shop that really cares about their customers and their passion for the cycling sport shows. They serviced my Fuji Altimira although I did not purchase from them; they never gave me an issue. This year it was time for an upgrade, Laz spent countless hours answering all my questions so I could be assured I was picking the right bike for me. I wanted something different and he delivered; Matte black Focus Izalco Max dura Ace---talk about in love! Every penny worth spent. At first I was second guessing making a dura ace upgrade thinking since i dont race I didnt really need or deserve such an upgrade; WRONG, I love to ride and ride often anyone who shares this passion deserves any upgrade. I also love that every time I go to the shop to buy nutrition, tubes or whatever Im never pushed to buy more or anything I really dont need. I can go in their buy what I need and have a great conversation with any of the guys. I also ride religiously with them on their Friday morning shop ride and they have all welcomed me and any new rider; they truly make everyone feel welcomed. Theyre always willing to answer questions and help anyone become a better cyclist.

Ive checked a few (many) bike shops in the area. I almost drove by this one because its 40 minutes from my home and located in a strip mall. However, I couldnt be more pleased with the prices and excellent service that I have received. Ive been cycling for 15 years and it was time to replace my road bike. I purchased a new bike, shoes, etc. The prices were very good and Ive had great service from Laz and Jose. Laz even talked me into the right size road shoes. The shoes felt small in the store but Laz convinced me to try them (carefully explaining the shoes are not for walking--it was more important how they were going to feel on the pedals--not how they feel walking in the store) and he was right on. Best fit ever. I was talked *out* of buying a $100 upgrade. Laz told me to try the current setup (external battery) and I could always come back and get an internal battery if needed. (And I wasnt picking the bike up for a week so this wasnt a ruse to get me to buy the bike that day.) Very happy to have found a local shop with passionate owners interested in helping the customer.

I didnt buy my Softride but Jose at Advanced Cycles did a Retul fit and it feels like a new bike. I will start by saying this is my second retul fit on this bike and it was night and day between the two. My first was in Atlanta with former pro cyclist but he never took the time to fit me he just got me into specs for what the program said a triathlete needed to be in. Keep in mind I have done a full ironman, 100 mile rides and made half ironman world championships on this bike but I never felt right on it. I could suffer thru a 112 mile ride but couldnt stay in the areo position for more than a mile at a time. Jose took the time to and it took time this bike is not easy to adjust but with his knowledge of Retul and my knowledge of the bike and what I was trying to achieve we got a great result. Proof is in the numbers all training ride were PRs and my first race two weeks after the fit I won first overall with a PR by 12 minutes in a two hour race. If you are serious about your races or just have a nice bike and want to get the most out of it you are crazy not to get a Retul fit.
