Update 7/14/17: After responding to the owner Franks post my girlfriend and I are very pleased with his business practice. Frank spoke with each of us personally and was genuine in wanting to rectify the situation, which he did. He assured us that this is not the type of business he runs and will work to regain our trust as customers. We will be returning to the shop to service our bikes and give it another shot with our business. It is nice to know that small businesses still care and value their customers. In todays age of big box stores and online merchants, it is important that we continue to shop at our local community shops. Peace. My experience at this shop was horrible. My girlfriend purchased a bicycle that Justin (manager) assured us he ordered from Bikes Direct online and would be ready and available for pick up in 3 days from purchase. Here we are two weeks and two days later and no bike. We called the shop because no one reached out to us at all and they said the bike was ready for pick up. We didnt pick it up that day or the next because it was pouring rain both days. The day we did go try and pick up the bike, Justin said it was gone. He said he had no idea where it went and that maybe it must have been stolen. Apparently Justin and the technician do not get along much. The technician was upset the day we came in because Justin was late by two hours for his shift. Justin assured us he ordered another bike and he would try to get it "rush ordered" for us to have the bike. Three days later, still no word from Justin. I went to the shop by myself to pick up the bike for my girlfriend, who at this point is very upset that she dropped $400 and two weeks later she still doesnt have a bike, and Justin said the bike just arrived. The bike was at the shop IN A BOX. Again, Justin assured me that the technician was coming in that evening to assemble the bike and would call me when he did. No call. The next day my girlfriend and I went to the shop thinking the bike would definitely be assembled and ready to go. NO. Bike is still in the box and Justin is nowhere to be found. The technician said he didnt come in last night so therefore Justin was lying through his teeth. At this point want our money back. The technician told us he couldnt do anything else to help us and that anything further needed to done through Justin (who never shows up). Now we are waiting for Justin to come into work (the technician said he has been calling Justin all day with no answer). As I was upset in the store, the technician did not try to assure us that it would be taken care of but rather became agitated with us and asked us to leave his store. He then proceeded to call security on us because we said we were not leaving until Justin arrived or answered his phone. The only saving grace in this entire experience was the technicians girlfriend who was trying to calm us down and told us that she would have Justin call us when he arrived. Sorry for the long review. Long story short, we want our money back and going elsewhere for a bike. This is a shame. My brother has purchased two bikes from here and has said that the owner Frank is a good guy but he is in France on vacation while his shop goes down the drain. Horrible experience.

I never write reviews, but had to in this case. Absolutely the worst customer service Ive ever seen, and thats saying a lot. First, I walk in and a gentleman is stocking shelves in the back. He sees me, but continues stocking for another 5 minutes. I almost walked out. Then he asks what the problem is. I told him the bearings need to be looked at because after a cassette change, the wheel wasnt spinning. He kept saying, "Its not the cassette". Three times I had to tell him, "I know, its the bearings". Then he said, "Its the rear brake". I said, "No its not, its the bearings" and he still decides to loosen the rear brake just to see the wheel not spinning the way it should. He says that they will look at it. Im asked to write my name and number on a piece of paper. I guess this is my receipt for handing over a $1500 mountain bike. 2 and 1/2 weeks go by. Nothing. I called three times. First time, they were waiting on parts that would be in the follow Tuesday. That Friday I called and said I had a ride the following day. I was told they would try to get it done by closing time. I showed up a 8:45 (15 min before closing) and saw my bike sitting there in the exact same condition I dropped it off (no chain, derailleur off and the same bag of parts hanging from the handlebars that I put on it when I dropped it off). They said that they couldnt it get it finished that evening. Well, to not be able to finish something, you have to start it first. That was last Friday (5 days ago). At this point Ive had it. Last night I went to go reclaim it since they couldnt do the job. Looked up their hours (to make sure) and said they closed at 9pm. Showed up at 8 and, you guessed it.... closed. Went today and got it back. 3 weeks and the only thing they contributed was water to the bag that had my new chain and some parts in it because they obviously left it outside in the rain (they move all the bikes into the back parking lot to work on them). I know there are some good reviews here, thats why I went to them. However, the bad ones parallel exactly what happened to me and it seems like a repeat story. How do they handle these issues? Look at the responses that they have to the bad reviews below. "Sorry this, sorry that. I am sorry you were treated that way" and then some excuse. There are some good people there that are over-worked, but management is completely lacking and business management is void. My suggestions.... avoid this place like the plague, unless you just want free bike storage. If that is the case, this is your place.

Short version: Lied to me about part they had in stock, tried to sell me a different part that I didnt want, very unfriendly, and, when given the chance to fix it all and still leave with me feeling ok about everything, didnt even consider trying to do that. Longer version (If youre interested): I needed a back wheel replaced and wanted the specific wheel from a specific bikes direct bike. I called ahead to ask if they had this part and was told that they did and to bring my old wheel so they could switch out the cassette (the gears on the wheel). I made sure to call first because I had to leave work early and take the bus to Waterford. When I got there I got similar rude treatment mentioned in other posts and was told "You know youll have to leave it, I cant just switch out the cassette right now." I use the bike to commute so I said I would just buy the wheel and do the work myself. He goes in the back and takes nearly 10 minutes and comes back out with a wheel that is obviously not the one I asked for and tries to sell me that one. I probably looked a little confused since he told me he had the correct part and he says "I could order it and itll be here really quick in like 5-7 days." I can see now that he had planned on ordering the wheel and making me wait 5 days "for the repair". I told him I wanted the part so that I could go to a race this saturday (which is true) and that wouldnt be soon enough. I was about to leave when I noticed the exact same model as my bike sitting on the showroom floor. I asked if maybe I could buy that rear wheel and he could order the new one and replace it when it came. The bike had a layer of dust on it so I didnt think it was an unreasonable request since it probably wont sell in the next 5 days. He looks at me like Im an idiot and goes "If it was your shop would you do that?" Which I found strange because I certainly would sell a customer the product that I told them I had in stock and make sure they leave happy even at the very, very slight risk that someone would come in and ask for that specific model and size of bike in the next 5 days. But it is his shop and he seemed to think that that was silly. Good luck to him and to you if you decide to go here for anything. This was not the first time Ive had a bad experience here, just the most recent.
