Ive been here several times shopping for odds and ends for my dog and snakes. On average their prices are incredibly shocking. SOME things are priced fairly but in general. $25 for an x-small plain harness that doesnt do anything special?! I found the exact same thing at Walmart (even better quality and design) for about $6! Same could be said for their leashes, most of the treats they sell, only SOME of the toys (generally their toy prices are actually fair), and beds and such. Almost everything is over-priced even the pets. They want HOW much for a sun conure?! Theyre priced TWICE as much as what youd pay a reputable breeder for one. If that wasnt enough, I called and asked them if they carried feeder rats. They claimed they did but did not have any so I re-arranged work in order to pick some up for my ball pythons on their delivery date - well, as it turns out their idea of "rat" is adult mice. Not only are mice simply not big enough to feed my ball pythons but they have entirely DIFFERENT nutritional values. Lets just put it this way; a snake that NORMALLY eats one large rat a week had eaten four mice over the course of two nights and STILL acts hungry. Its simply inexcusable for a pet store to not even know the difference between a rat and mouse. Whats worse is, everyone who worked there referred to them as "rats". I would advise against taking their advice on ANY animal - noone has any notable knowledge. When I mentioned my ball python ate 4 mice in two nights they were surprised. And what FINALLY was the last straw. An employee told me to pick my dog up because apparently theres a dog hating cat running loose in the store that would attack her. They really should take the sign down saying well behaved pets allowed and put up a warning sign of this before they get in trouble. Thats just unacceptable - apparently this cat is also allowed to fish out of the tanks and eat said fish. Is this really meant to be a pet store? In short; Unless youre rich or have a HUGE dog do not shop here. Walmart has everything youll ever need for a small - medium dog at a reasonable cost and then some and they arent that far. Theres also other, better pet stores in the general area.

Easter Monday 2014 our neighbor banged on the door started backing up very scared like. When I tried to open the door I noticed she brought us a ceramic pot w a newspaper over the top and set it in front of the door. I asked her "what is in there?. She replied as she was backing up "I do not know, I just need you and your daughter to look at it and see what it is. My dog left it on my porch last night and I was afraid to touch it". I lifted up the paper and found a kitten soo small it fit in the palm of my hand. Its ears and eyes were still shut. It was very quiet and I was afraid it would not make it through the night. I went to Pet Supermarket and the worker told me what I needed to buy and how to take care of it. We followed the instructions very carefully. I called Marion County Animal Services the next day to see if they could take it but unfortunately they did not have a foster family to take such a young kitten and care for it and they would be forced to euthanize it. That is all I needed to know and I am very thankful they were honest with me. We now have an approx 8 week old healthy kitten. W/O the instructions and confidence we gained from Pet Smart we are not sure what we would have done. Thank You Sooo Much for all the awesome, smart people who work there!!!!!!! P.S. we have found a forever home for the kitten and they have named him Cayden!

I shopped at Petsupermarket as it is local and mt little enjoys the trip. I buy small cans of dogfood which is one a dayAlso treats and and leases and harnesses. I will never go there again. I checked the FDA which lists animal food and treats recalls and discovered all the treats were made in China. The government recommends nothing should be given to your pet from China. I returned unopened and opened treats and was given STORE CREDIT for the one unopened treat. It was too bad about the others. I tried to purchase case of 12 cans of dog food as it was on sale. They only had 10 so added 2 of another flavor. The girl informed me I could not get case price so I left them there for them to put back on the shelf. the $8 credit card I took homd and cut up. Someone at the dog park told me a friend purchased 3 tropical fish which died the next day. When they took them back the clerk said "We knew they were going to die". I guess they knew something had happed to all the fish snd they were not given their money back. I now order my food and other items on the internet.

They sold me a rabbit with a disease called Pasteurella multocida. A life time disease for rabbits!! If you want vet bills every month Id suggest never buying from this store. Pasteurella multocida is highly contagious to other rabbits so if he was ever in a cage with other rabbits at this shop that means someone else has this problem as well. I was wondering when I bought him why he was in a cage alone. And with a sign that said 20% off. You guys knew what you were selling me. And I honestly hope your store shuts down for the obvious overlooking of such a big deal! It utterly disgusts me that you can get away with this. You will never see me in your store again. And I will tell everyone I know with a animal or thinking of purchasing one to never step foot into your uncompassionate store. Have a very pet friendly day!

Recently we were in need of dietary help with our 8 year old rat terrier. I tried calling our veterinarians office for advice and was directed to this store. Upon arriving I was shocked by the number of varieties of dog foods among the competing brands they stock. One of the young ladies who works there was most helpful and suggested I look at the protein content of each one, as to solve our dogs digestive issues a high protein formula was recommended by our vet. The one she helped me select was, while more than what Im used to paying for dry dog food, one that was designed for sensitive stomachs and higher in protein. While a bit pricier than say a Wal-Mart or Target, they were both helpful and courteous. I would gladly suggest them to anyone.

Unfortunately, now that the long time manager Natalie is gone, it is a different experience here. The store is dirty, under stocked, carts full of products in many isles, sick cats in cages, dead fish floating in the tanks, many associates present but not working (I had to keep asking the cashier where everything on my list was). The new manager Crystal would rather gossip with her friends than help shopping customers. I heard her complain about "stupid people", meaning us shoppers, to another employee. Downhill spiral :(.............I will happily drive 10 miles out of my way to shop at bigger, friendlier, and most importantly, cleaner stores.
