I just downgraded my original 4-star review to a meh-2 stars. Long story short: you can get better priced items and just as average customer service at the Walmart down the street. The only plus to this store compared to buying animal supplies anywhere else is that they have a wide variety of toys, food, and other supplies. Everything else here is sub-par at best. Staff are lackadaisical and difficult to find, their customer service skills leave much to be desired. When a customer at a register next to me today asked about a deal she thought she saw on a cat house, the staff at the register abruptly and bluntly said, "No." instead of helping the customer figure out what was on sale or where the breakdown of communication was. I was taken aback and I wasnt even in their line. Then my cashier rings up my items and, to my surprise, the items I had picked up were twice as expensive as the advertised price. It was then that I realized, despite my double checking the bar codes on the shelves, their items on display were actually just that disorganized. I have every intention of going back today, returning what I bought, and only coming to shop here when absolutely necessary.

Not sure how to write this review...supplies & equipment for your pets, and service in that terms is great. Nothing wrong there at all. But their saltwater fish tanks are infested with disease, its quite sad. I have mentioned this to the manager before there, its just shrugged off. For the price they ask on some of the fish, its almost stealing for those who dont know how to identify salt water fish diseases and parasites. Secondly, I have noticed a lack in what seems to be care for their reptiles. Whether it be housing multiple animals together, that shouldnt be OR feeding them the wrong food. I have heard multiple times now, horrible advice given to customers buying their first reptile. I will say this, Petco needs to step their game up in terms of keeping REAL LIVE animals in house. Or dont at all. Its animal abuse - whether it be a Yellow Eye Kole Tang or a Uromastyx - just because its a dog or cat, doesnt mean its not abuse. Will not be shopping here any longer.

Scheduled an appt. to get my dog groomed and after over a week of waiting I was told the groomer didnt come in so Id have to reschedule. Made an appt. last week for this morning and I come in to find whoever told me they made my appt. actually didnt. Then I wait for this bumbling idiot to look up the appointment that wasnt there on multiple computers. I finally told her to forget it and I wouldnt be back cause I was tired of waiting. You have one job people, its called customer service. A monkey can do this job. Why cant you?

What a great experience!!!!!! Called with a 1/2 hour until closing wanting to just get my 9 month old 60 lbs goldendoodles nails trimmed. Spoke with Alex on the phone and she said she could take care of us, so we ran to the car loaded up the pooch and rushed over. When Alex came out it was like she was greeting her own dog. Our Penny couldnt have been in better hands. Alex is a good example of someone who truely loves animals and enjoys what she does. I cant imagine taking her anywhere else now.

I went to have my dogs nails trimmed. the rabies vaccine is from 2016 and this is February of 2017 and they would not trim the dogs nails. I understand the need for up to date vaccines but this is ridicules, I will not shop there ever again and I will post this in the office at my complex along with their website. you need a lesson in good customer service.

Dont try to return anything if you dont have a receipt! I was followed around the store after the return like a criminal and the employees acted like I was trying to steal from them. I spend over $150 a month at Petco (we have 3 dogs, one of which has major health problems). I dont think well be back.

the selection for saltwater is ridiculously low, not to mention the fish are very unhealthy, they either dont care, or dont have someone who knows anything about saltwater fish. I few Petcos I been too, take great care of their fish. But still Petco is last place I would go to for saltwater fish.

Petco has the widest variety of supplies around. I found science diet kitten food here I was previously special ordering from the internet. I had trouble finding staff last time I was there but I dont think that is a usually a problem.

Its 2017 and you cant look up receipts like every other retailer in the world. And you wouldnt even give a store credit after the trainer recommended a harness but come to find out that its not really bad for dogs.
