My friend and I went in the store today to look for my very first road bike and the guy with long brown hair, which I believe to be Jim based on the bio on their website, was very helpful. I came in mainly for information, because the price tag on the bike Im looking for makes it a relatively big purchase, so we thanked him for his time and made our way towards the exit. As we were leaving, the magazines near the door caught my eye so I stayed inside as my friend walked out. Then, thinking we had left, the guy that was helping us uttered "douche bag 1 and douche bag 2 right there" to another employee. I turned around in amazement and let him know I was still in the store. He looked as if hed seen a ghost and tried to act as if he was only joking. I asked him what gave him the right to place judgement on others and he didnt have much to say. I left the store disgusted and he followed me out to apologize. He said hed had a couple beers earlier and that he didnt mean anything by it. So if you want to go to a store where youre being judged and talked about after you leave, this is the store for you. Me, Ill never step foot inside this store again. I hope the person responsible takes notice and understands that by calling someone you dont know a douche bag, then that in turn makes you the douche bag.

This place is a complete joke, please save yourself a headache and take your business elsewhere. My husband dropped both of our bikes here right before travelling out of state on vacation, of which we were taking our bikes with us. My bike needed a tune up, and my husbands bike needed a cranking noise from the pedals checked out. Needless to say we paid $70 dollars for our bike to sit there for two days untouched. I say untouched because we discovered TWO days later upon going out for a ride OUT OF STATE mind you, that the cranking noise had not been fixed, my bike was not shifting properly and the right brake had gone out. Had our bikes been serviced and or test ridded in any way these simple and obvious issues would have been discovered and fixed.(yes we shouldve test rode them before leaving, lesson learned) We took our bikes to a store down the road from our hotel and the mechanic there looked and fixed both bikes in less than 10 minutes. I will take my business elsewhere, and inform all my present and future acquaintances of the horrible service offered here.

After stopping by most of the local bike shops, I decided Champion was where I would spend my $. Jonathan and Brian took a lot of time listening and talking with me about their bikes and didnt try to upsell me or push me into a bike just to move it off the floor. They took the time to fit me on the right sized bike and then encouraged me to take it out for a proper test ride - basically as long as I wanted to go before I made any commitments. Since purchase, Ive had it in for a check-up and to re-lube and the service was outstanding. Cant say enough about these guys! And by the way, I got a fantastic deal on an awesome Felt Z85. If youre looking for your first road bike this is it. Great components, smooth ride and a killer look!!

If you want to do business with a bike shop you can trust, go to Champion. I have purchased two mountain bikes from them and I couldnt be happier with my sales experience and setup. They are also extremely giving individuals. For four consecutive years, they have helped Beaches Habitat for Humanity in Atlantic Beach with a group that rides for them each year: Bike & Build. Bike and Build arrives with 30 bikes that need to be assembled and sized. Champion has sent two of their best cycle mechanics each year, and they spend the entire day assembling and fitting bikes for the group. Go visit Champion Cycles. You will not be disappointed!

I flew in from England and hunted for the right bike to tour Florida, Georgia, S+N Carolina. There are no substitutes for knowledge and enthusiasm, both of which Dave and Co. at Champion have in abundance! Even though I was a novice cyclist purchasing a mid-range bike, the attention and support I received were first rate. And although the guys knew that I was heading back to England and they wouldnt see me again, the after-tour care shown for the bike and myself was amazing, even across other sports equipment stores I visit as a professional Coach. Highly recommended as the best place to buy along the beaches. Truly Champion!

Took husbands bike in. Told them specifically that it wasnt shifting properly. $90+ and over a week later, took it out to find problem wasnt fixed. Hubby took it back. Again told them in detail what was happening. Replaced middle ring and charged us. Same thing. Took it out and same problem. Obviously didnt test ride it after either repair. Took it to another shop. Took them two minutes to figure out the problem. And then found out that front brake pads are shot. How could it have gone for two test rides without noticing that?!? Needless to say we found another shop for repairs.

I ride a road bike everyday, so it is important that I have some where I can go to get it serviced and get good priced accessories. I found this Champion and I will not go anywhere else. Every employee there is knowledgeable, helpful, and super nice. They recognize me and my spouse when we walk in to the point where they know what kind of bikes we ride and we have only been there 4 times. The prices are good and they have everything I would ever need and if they dont they will get it for me quick.I would go there for any kind of bike needs, and I highly recomend them!

I took my bike in for a basic tune up and the owner tried to give the ol filthy mechanic trick to replace everything on the bike. He wanted to replace tires, which I bought less than 4 months ago, chain and sprockets, cables, brakes, shocks, and derailleur (replaced same time as tires). After totaling up a bill of over $300 he then suggested I could just buy a new bike from him. The only thing my bike needed was a tune up! Oil gears and adjustments! I suggest steering clear of this tourist trap and going inland for bike repairs. This guy is a scam artist.

This is an outstanding bike store that places the customers best interests as #1 Priority. I insisted on a single speed bike in November 2016, and found it was not the bike for me. I rode it less than 20 miles, and in July 2017, Champion allowed me to exchange it for a multi-speed bike which is just what I needed. They gave me full value for what I paid for the single speed, and then discounted the 28 speed bike I needed. Ask for Don Pacquing, who is a real "Pro"; he is courteous, knowledgeable, and sincerely helpful.

Champion is the best bicycle shop in Jacksonville, and certainly at the beach. Not only is Brian incredibly knowledgable, but so are his mechanics. They are honest, and they do great work, and theyll find the right bike for you, not just whats in stock. Im 68", so Im used to shops "bench tuning" my bikes and finding them lacking under hard pedaling. Champions mechanics understand this, and do a great job getting it right the first time. And their prices are good, what more could you want?
