I will preface this review by noting everyone there has been very nice every time Ive gone. The biggest problem is they are not organized. Here are my experiences the few times Ive used them for repairs or maintenance: My wifes tire went flat. We dropped off the bike. They said they would call in a few days when it was ready. They never called so we had to call them a week later. Picked up the bike. The first time she rode it immediately went flat again. We took it down. They had not replaced some tire lining the first time. Have to chock that one up to sloppiness. My bike is in good shape despite being 10 years old. I wanted to have the tires and tubes checked since they are original to the bike. I dropped off the bike, telling them I was concerned about the tires/tubes and wanted to make sure the bike was in good shape otherwise. They said they would look it over and call me in about 3-4 days with maintenance recommendations. Nobody ever called. A week later I called them to ask about my bike. Their slip says I was called. I never was. They went ahead and performed a routine tuneup on the bike having never talked with me. They said the tires and tubes were fine. When I went to pick up the bike, which was now several weeks after I initially dropped it off since I was busy, it took them a few minutes to locate the bike in the store. Have not ridden the bike yet to test it out. They need to review their workflow and organizational efficiency. Again, nice folks, but they seem overwhelmed with actually running the shop.

Purchased a 2013 bike from them at the beginning of the summer of 2013. Theyve helped me from what others might call a tedious tire-fill to choosing accessories, tuning up my bike, and fixing up my spare mountain bike I picked up at a garage sale. Meanwhile, Ive biked about 300 miles after biking (maybe) 50 miles my whole life. Theyre patient and helpful experts with a friendly attitude and I wouldnt go anywhere else -- especially after buying a cheapo tire pump last year from one of the brand-name stores downtown. Blimp City Bike & Hike sells quality products with top-notch customer service to back it up!

I bought a Kona Dew Plus for my husband back in November. Hes been using it for a daily commute to work. Blimp City has been great. The Kona was their suggestion They also did some repair on his six year old Fuji. It is running better than ever. Blimp City was great at finding us the right bike rack for the car and finding us a suitable resistance trainer. The discounts they offered us it made easier on the wallet. Really, they are a nice family with a wonderful little dog that greets all the incoming customers.

Last year my family and I were riding the trail, and my chain fell off and got locked into my gears. It just happened to be right in front of Blimp City 10 minutes after they opened. They worked on my bike immediately and for longer than we expected, it was really stuck! The guys were great, service excellent.

Fantastic shop. Andy has stayed late to finish working on my bike on days when he was swamped and didnt have the chance to get to it. Always excited to have customers, wide selection. Plus, UA students get a discount on parts!

The guys are just fantastic! Very friendly and knowledgeable. If you need anything for your booking needs go here first. Tried someplace else and boy did I regret it. They fixed out and did so much better than the other guys.

Right across from the towpath and within sight of several places to eat. And its a real LBS (Local Bike Shop), not a high pressure chain with rotating employees. Thats what I want when I buy a bike or need service.

Blimp City Bike and Hike has a nice selection of bikes and clothing that many of the larger shops do not stock and they are willing to special order an item if they do not have it in stock.
