Dont bring them your bike unless its mainstream. Everyone here reviewing is saying they are knowledgeable but this is not true. They only know about the repairs they do make repeatedly. If you bring them a bike type that they dont sell, they will refuse you or worse. And not an honest bold refusal, they will purposely discourage about your project you to make you go away. They did this to me because what I was asking was harder than the other bikes they could be working on. The employees simply didnt want to do the work. There were four of them. One sitting on her duff, and four bikes on the rack much easier to fix than mine. So after they looked at my wheel (I brought in the wheel only); like it was crafted on another planet and couldnt begin to guess at the proper bearing sizes, I left them with their outrageous fees for the unguaranteed work, to continue their play time at the office. This five minutes of my life spent writing has been worth it to save you thirty minutes of yours and dealing with this joke shop. If you need to fix a toy go ahead and take your chances but if you rely on your bike for a living dont go here. P.S. Also youll note most of their other reviews are written by paid/reviewers reviewers. I am sorry that I cannot suggest where you SHOULD go.

I started speaking to the manager Alex a couple of weeks ago about different bikes and what would be best for my riding style and needs. He was very patient with me and gave me thorough and detailed explanations to all of my questions no matter how silly they were. I finally decided what to buy and the big day happened last Saturday when I went to Bird Legs and bought a new Trek Emonda. Alex took his time and fitted the bike to me and made all of the necessary adjustments to make sure that I was going to be as comfortable as possible. I have now had it 3 days and have ridden it 70 + miles. The bike is great the fit is perfect and I could not be happier. The selection at Bird Legs is fantastic and what they dont have they will order. More importantly, Alex is World Class. He is patient, extremely knowledgeable and is a true professional. He really knows bikes and knows how to match a person with a bike to maximize their enjoyment. I had a great experience! The next time I am purchasing a new bike I wont look anywhere else but Bird Legs Bicycles!

First impression: no bike racks to park bikes... Just a single handicap parking sign. Even indoors, there is nowhere to park my bike. They dont sell kickstands either. Most road bikes dont have kickstands. Its crazy to think no one would ride a bike to a bike shop. Walked in and immediately noticed this place is expensive. The store is targeting people that prefer high-end equipment strictly geared for competition. No helmets under $100 for example. Nothing in the store shouts out to average people that dont want $800 rims. I bought a water bottle. Took about 20 minutes to pay for it. The guy told my girlfriend that all road tires (assuming he meant 700s) need to be filled with air every day. I can see 10 psi drop overnight but completely flat is not normal. And tubes cost twice as much there than Walmart for the same brand. So they filled her tire. When we got home, she noticed her valve stem caps were gone. They didnt put them back on her bike!

I buy bikes after Christmas for kids who dont get them for whatever reason. It is usually financial so I simply try to find a decent bike on swip-swap, offer up, someone donates, the garbage, or something like that and I fix it up and make it rideable and generally presentable. Some of course we cant salvage. On January 2, 2017 I had some bad luck already that night and I turned into Bird Legs on Beach Blvd. in Jax. Bch. next to Dunkin Donuts looking for some help with repairs and parts. I walked out about 1 ½ hours later with a couple hundred bucks of bike parts that I bought. I left a bike that we decided wasnt worth fixing. I got some repair lessons. I picked up a few used things to add to the donations. And most of all I rediscovered the meaning of giving in store employees Krista and Jack. They were so helpful and kind and I will be back over and over.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT THIS STORE!! As an avid cyclist for the past 10 years in Jacksonville, I was so excited about this store when it opened, but it is truly a disaster. To cut to the chase, on multiple visits my experience has been that the owner (Jeff) and staff act like you are lucky that they will even talk to you. They are extremely cocky. The reality is that they are far from the most knowledgable cyclists/shop in town compared to Open Road Bicycles or "Champion." You cannot count on what they say as being true, and they are extremely poor at customer service compared to other shops. I now have several experiences with the store that have all been very poor. I recommend moving on to either Open Road Bicycles or Champion for cyclists who really want a good experience.

Great buying experience! I continue to travel to this shop in Jacksonville Beach from Fleming Island exclusively because of their personable and knowledgeable staff. They know me and greet me by my first name when I walk in. They know my bikes, and I have never had any reason not to trust their advice and recommendations for upgrades or repairs. Yes, I pass about half a dozen bike shops on my trip between my home and Bird Legs Bicycles, but I wouldnt trust anyone else to work on my bikes - well worth the extra drive. If you care about and are serious about your bike, these are the people to whom you should entrust its care. Thanks Bird Legs! Hey - I love your increasing inventory or Tri gear, too!

This is the worst business I have ever encountered. They would not order a tire for me, they said we dont deal in that tire. I told them I need a bike shop to work on my bike and the manager said We do not deal in that tire. I have spent over $800 on a accessories with this company. I called the owner in Tallahassee and he apologized for the bad service. So one month later I went in there shop and the girl told me what they could not do for me instead of what they could do for me.The worst service in Jacksonville Beach. I finally went to Champion Cycle shop in Jax Beach and they ordered my tire and spent another $205 on tune-up, brakes etc. Wow Bird Legs needs a new manager

Great store, friendly people. They fixed my flat right away, took the time to answer all my questions, and then offered a few maintenance tips to keep my bike in good shape. I ended up buying a carrier from them, as well. This was my first visit to the Beaches store, as I had purchased my bikes in Mandarin. Thoroughly enjoyed the shopping experience and great customer service.
