I am one that does my research before a purchase. I went to all the bike shops in town and ended up with Craig at the Town Center. Upon ordering, Craig never asked for a deposit. He just took a verbal order from me and stated that he didnt want me to pay anything until it arrived and I was completely satisfied with the bike at time of pickup. My original purchase was a road bike 62 cm Windsor Night with some Shimano Ultegra Components and VUELTA XRP wheels all for $900.00 base price and some additional charges for accessories. I am 63" 250 lbs. and went with the Windsor Knight over many other brands based on the geometry, handling, rigidity, components, and the PRICE. No other local store could match or even come close to this road bike for under $1K with the high quality components this bike has. After one year, the wheels still do not need aligned. Move up one year to March 2010, I just picked up my Motobecane Fantom Pro SL 29er / 21inch frame hard tail mountain bike for $1K.. Again, just a phone call to Craig to order the bike no deposit. One week later and come pick it up. This bike is a monster! The 29inch wheels, RockShox 29er Reba SL, and 185mm hydraulic disc brakes with a well designed aluminum frame makes this a killer purchase. I dare anyone to show me a better 29er for $1K. The components alone retail cost much more than $1K not including the frame. One shop told me that they could not even get a 29er their cost for what I paid retail for my Motobecane. Again research is the key and in this case you get exactly what you pay for without having to pay many hundreds of dollars more for a brand name with inferior components such as Specialized, etc. Bikes Direct gives you the most bang for the buck. Some shops push their brand stating their frames are superior. They charge you more with inferior components on their so called superior frame set. And yes, there are better frames and bikes out there. But if your budget is limited to around $1K or less, you will get the most bike for the money with great service to go along with it. So what about the service. They offer life time tuneups. However dont expect Craig to stop what ever he is doing and tune up your bike when you walk in the door. Certain times of the year, his shop gets very busy requiring you to leave your bike for a day or possibly even two days. If you need walk in and out bike service, then you may have to take it elsewhere and pay for that faster service. In a pinch I have done just that especially if another shop was closer and I could not leave it. This is not a complaint about Bikes Direct, simply a reality that in most cases, expect to leave your bike for a day or two based on what service you require. Craig is very knowledgeable and does a great job explaining things to his customers. I have been in his store listening to him talking to experienced riders and helping inexperienced customers what to look for in a bike purchase.. So if your looking for a bike, dont pull the trigger on a purchase until you had a chance to visit Bikes Direct and talk to Craig. He may or may not have what you want. But make a well informed and knowledgeable purchase. Know what you are getting and get it for the best price. Bikes Direct is hard to beat....

I researched and researched for the perfect bike to commute to work and occasionally do some urban riding in downtown over and under the bridges, and of course on the beaches. I was referred to Craig by a friend of mine who purchased a mountain bike for him and his fiancee. They didnt like the bike itself, and turned around and exchanged them for a roadbike instead. They were so happy with the customer service experience, they didnt hesistate referring me as picky as I am. On a $300-$400 budget, I wanted something that wasnt going to collapse and have high maintenance since Id be using it on a daily basis. Craig found the right bike for me AND my girlfriend. He answered ALL my questions without sounding like I was a retard considering I had only had experience with road bikes. After my great satisfaction and shopping around looking elsewhere, we decided to buy two new mountain bikes from Craig. She uses her bike to ride to work on a daily basis, and Ive been riding mine to work, (to pick up groceries, stop by the bank, go to karate, and everything else), since the day I brought it home. If any of you know the San Jose Blvd stretch from Hooters to Wal Mart in Mandarin, you know its treacherous in the morning and afternoons. Ive had full confidence that my bike will get me to work and not break down as the biggest selling point from this store is that they offer Lifetime Maintenance on the bikes as long as you own them. That alone is enough reason not to look elsewhere. ~ Ernie

OVERALL: This is for a bikesdirect online purchase. Bought a 2016 Fuji Reveal 1.3. I could not be happier. Bike delivered in 2 days in factory Fuji box. Not a scratch on the bike. Well packaged. ASSEMBLY: Super easy to assemble. I do have experience with bike wrenching. Basically ya put the pedals and seat on. Mount the front wheel. Mount stem to fork. Adjust handlebars to a likable angle. Lastly, mount disc brake caliper. After checking tightness of all bolts (all were well secure from factory), time to ride. Yessssss. I should have set my shock sag first, but I couldnt wait to give the bike a ride. After my ride, I set the shocks to appropriate sag for my weight. All easy. Brakes and derailleurs on point, right out of the box. I didnt have to tweak them at all. Wheels were true. Spokes seemingly well tensioned. QUALITY: This is a Fuji bike. Its solidly built. The components are commensurate with the price. Cant wait to get this out on the trail. AREAS for IMPROVEMENT: At this point, my only nitnoid critique is the websites claimed MSRP is $1899. A 2017 Reveal 1.3 is $1229 at the LBS, so theres no way a 2016 MSRP is $1899. All that said, a 2016 for $899 is still a GREAT deal...just as great a deal as the website states. ALL and ALL: After seeing this bike at the LBS, I knew this was the bike for me and had no issues purchasing it online from Bikesdirect. 5 stars for bikesdirect!

okay, so regardless of the one bad review that Craig got over something completely trivial in my opinion, I decided to buy a bike from him anyway. after shopping around I found this company to be the best value. But, having only seen the bike I wanted online and not in person, I was still a little nervous. Rest assured, Craig is not only one of the best people Ive worked with, but very trustworthy and dependable. I bought my wife a bike for Christmas. But I did not want her to see the purchase on the card so ordering it on the website was out of the question. I called the shop and spoke with Craig last week and told him what color and model I wanted. He located the bike from his local warehouse and had it delivered to the shop. this was on Thursday, and by Saturday afternoon he had the bike ready and assembled waiting on my arrival no questions asked. All this with just my name and phone number, thats service. Anyone who gives Craig a bad rap at this point is a bitter person and should have their internet privileges revoked. Oh, and by the way, he threw in a spare tube for me. No charge! that doesnt sound like the same Craig I read about. :) I will be returning to Craig for all future bike purchases. Im very Happy with Bikes direct service and the quality of the equipment and would recommend this company to anyone.
