I am not a fan of huge supermarkets . I normally perfer more personalized, small, interactions with professional more helpful experience .This store is one of the must go to .Clean,friendly staff . Their perpared foods such as like party platters .Are a huge help when youre in a hurry . The food is fresh. The staff is eager to help you ! They are always on Better Connecticut or Summer Backyard Cookout is wonderful to watch and learn .My Husband had the Bakery make my Birthday cake here and he took home fresh cut up fruit that stays fresh . I love to stock up on when they have Sales like buy 1 and get 1-free or buy 1-or get 2 free. I love to prepare to stock up a but before the freezing below winter months .They are a tad pricy on somethings . The staff is eager to help you with the right way to cook things then you wouldnt known otherwise. The butchers are wonderful Not in the same town as I live . When I do which today was one of them . Another easy no hassle . Everything is easy to find . Happy Customer service is A plus .

At the first glance, Big Y looked great from outside and it caught my attention. I went in to pick up some household items and I must say that it is great from inside as well. Their business tag line world class market goes well with their business. It was superb inside, not only in terms of how it was organized but also the items they carry inside the store. The staff was very friendly,helpful,knowledgeable,professional and courteous. Also, they have some good deals like half off, buy one get one free. Overall, it was a great experience shopping over here. Thumbs down, it wins over all super markets in the area.

My favorite local grocery store- small enough to navigate big enough to provide diverse selections of produce..baked goods and even a new health food corner. The location is central to the area opposite Silas Deane Hwy near Cromwell Ave & Elm St, which I feel is less congested. I stay away from Stop n Shop and Walmart stores in Plaza on Townline Rd at all costs. There is much to much traffic and shops there with ppl not paying attention. I never feel anxious in entering Big Y as its in its own area. I also tend to stop towards evening after supper on a week day. Weekends see increase in shopping.

Usually a fast and friendly experience. Sometimes the lines can be clogged up and it can take forever for you to get your groceries, but it happens on extremely rare occasions. The reason why I dock 1 star is because of their response to these situations, there should be more urgency to remedy the lines.
