I liked the selection from this place, and it really does feel like being in Asia. As far as American standards go, this place needs to reorganized, floor tiles need to be replaced, new shelving units. But hey, you like Asian food, youll find it here. They need to focus more on many Asian countries. It is mostly Chinese, with a lot Japanese selections. A very tiny South Korean section in the last aisle, which is strange considering how big Korean food is getting. And Thai food here and there. And the non perishable foods truck needs to show up more, because there were times all the shelves seemed empty. I would go if I were you. 3 stars means I did like it, just knocked down due to empty shelves at times, and worn down look. Its the only Asian supermarket around, and fresh seafood all the time.

Ive been going here ever since I was a little baby. Thats 19 years. For the people posting saying that the workers are rude, I think that they are just in culture shock. I honestly have never found any workers to be rude. Most dont know English or know very little English and they try to help as best as they can. Those two women who work at the butcher station have been working there forever and always give great service. This is the best place to find the greatest food. Even if it is dirty looking (I know they mop regularly..), who really cares when this is like the Asian version of Costco. The only other Asian market I know of is in New Haven and its selection is a tenth of the size. I always like coming here. It is nostalgic for me.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION to the cash register EVERYONE!!! THEY will ring things up twice or more on the same item they already rang up. Theyre are sneaky and rude at times. Not a pleasant place to shop plus its dirty; they are the biggest Asian supermarket in town and variety of different things that is it. Again! PAY ATTENTION TO THE CASH REGISTER! BECAUSE THEY WILL RING UP TWICE ON ITEM THAT THEY ALREADY RANG UP. I didnt want to write a review but I caught them so many times theyre tricking people and hoping some wont caught on to their malicious way of taking people for granted. I hope this will help many out there to be careful there if you chose to shop there. All the best to the shopper and please be mindful...

The store itself could use a little work inside. It seems almost like a warehouse with how "unfriendly" the atmosphere feels like sometimes. The poor lighting and tacky scuffs and marks on the walls and floor only make you feel a little uneasy as you shop around. One instance I noted was some moldy Duran fruit by the entrance when I walked in, not good. But they do carry authentic Asian supplies as one would expect. My family has been shopping here for years and I dont think they plan on stopping. Rice, fun candies, neat figurines, this place has got it. Ive been treated fairly and respectfully when purchasing my goods at checkout.

AWFUL MANAGEMENT. I was missing 3 frozen seafood items and called to store as soon as I got back home and noticed they were missing. I called up the store and spoke to a lady who just gave me excuses that its so busy, and that its NOT the cashiers responsibility to BAG ALL THE ITEMS. ?!?!?!?! I have the receipt, I told them to look at their video cameras, because it only happened 1.5 hours ago. She puts me on hold and comes back with a slur of excuses like before, "its really busy, not our fault, your fault. I even asked for their store policy and thats when she hung up on me. She kept talking over me.

Great prices & selections. Only problem: no service - nobody admits to speaking English, so if youre looking for a specific item, or want to know more about an item (because its labeling is not in English), nobody able|willing to help (although thats also a problem at lots of other places these days). Also, unless the price is stamped on the item itself, you cant depend upon the price shown on the shelf to be up-to-date - it can ring up higher at the checkout register (but still less expensive than at other stores).

I love the fresh and low priced produce. They stock lots of Asian varieties and some conventional grocery staples too. This is the only place I know of in Hartford to carry Maesri brand curry paste. I come for healthy food at a great price. The fresh mushrooms here are my favorite. The Vietnamese prepared foods are worth stopping in for. They have the best price on quality Kimchi that Ive found anywhere in New England so far. I enjoy treating myself to unfamiliar foods, veggies and deserts too!

A good place to shop for the asian food. Good variety of fresh seafood and vegetables. The only thing that I hate is the poor customer service especially the guy in the fish section. He is very rude and seems like he is angry in the world. If he doesnt want to serve then he shouldnt be there. It happened twice already and it pisses me off. I like to shop there but if he doesnt want to us to buy fish then he should just close the fish section.

There is terrible customer service and is extremely dirty as if they had never cleaned it. The woman at lane one never smiles or says thank you and all in all is very rude. Not to mention the fact that they had charged me 2 times for one purchase and withdrew from my bank account. They refused to refund the extra charge, be careful and make sure you check your receipt and your credit card bill.

Authentic. This is the only word I have to describe this place. This is an ethnic market that caters to its own. Any foodie should take the trip and have a look around - you WILL see things youve never seen in a grocery store in the US! Place can get crowded and lines long from time to time.

Its where the Asians go for fresh produce, and some cooking supplies you can only get at an Asian market like this one. The place is usually clean. Its super busy on weekends. If you can go during the week, youre better off. They get deliveries of fresh foods on Fridays.

This place is been one of my favorite Asian stores for the past 10 years! I always make a point to stop here every few months and stock up on goodies. This time I have some Hi-Chew to share with everyone at work and a nice big bag of cracker nuts for myself!

I go there when I can and when I do I love getting their Daifuku and Mochi cakes! Once in awhile they carry matcha green tea chocolate. They always have Pocky. I love this place and I highly suggest that if you like asian foods to check this place out!
