On May 1, 2011 I had the displeasure of being treated as a thief by two cashiers by the name of Kianna and LaShana. The two of them failed to ask me if I needed help but quickly assumed that I was stealing. All because a item I was purchasing did not roll down the conveyor belt. I complained to the night manager Becky who co-signed the cashiers attitude. No apology at all from the staff or management after I made this complaint. I thought I explained the incident in full detail and yet I get a letter from Mr. Thibeault that he apologizes for the inconvenience. How is it a inconvenience to be looked over by one cashier and then the next cashier takes my item off the conveyor belt after I told her that It was purchased then she comes into my lane and checks the computer to see if the item was purchased. Mr. Thibeaults letter said the cashier was overridden the item. That was untrue because it automatically was deleted as a purchase item because it did not roll down the belt. I dont appreciate spending my money with liars or this stop & shop that allows their staff to have the lowest degree of respect and customer service skills extended to their customers. I really believe re-training is needed for Mr. Thibeault and his staff because they dont respect the customer.

I agree with the general rudeness. In addition, I have been going to this particular Super Stop and Shop on New Park Ave. almost weekly for 4 years. In all that time, I usually bag my own groceries. I bring in my 2008 Earth Day Stop and Shop bags and fill them myself. Personally I do not mind bagging my own. Nothing gets crushed. I just find it interesting that ...gee whiz, no one is there to do the bagging - even if there was someone before bagging groceries. I am always polite by asking the cashier - by name - how are you. You would think that I would have made a dent by now. Anyway the new Stop and Shop gets most of my business now. Wow - what a difference. The new Stop and Shop on Newington Road is fabulous.

Stop & Shop is my primary grocery store. The quality of food and customer service is above all others in my area. My ONLY and BIG concern is their coupons and alleged sale prices. It appears that recently their sale prices are for items they inflate prices on during the sale and their mailer coupons for repeat customers dont always credit as advertised during check out. I think I will reach out to Corporate Office for assistance; I cant blame the local stores and staff for theses glitches.

My Mother Fall down in Last week in park of lot entrance from STOP AND SHOP IN NEW PARK AVE. She went to hospital,she a lot of pain.The Manager never call her to see if she was ok,but they call her to let her know they not going to pay for the HOSPITAL BILLS. THATS NOT FAIR AND VERY RUDE. THE MANAGER TOLD HER TO PAY ATTENTION NEXT TIME SHE WALKS. ANYONE THINGS THAT RIGHT THING TO SAY FROM MANAGER???

Extremely rude employees. One particularly disrespectful cashier, named Karen I believe, gave me a hard time when I politely asked her about buying beer at 8:50 pm (ten minutes before 9). She then proceeded to card me (Im 56 years old) with a wiseass look on her face. Theyve lost my business. Ive never had a problem at any other grocery store, but the rudeness at this store is disgusting.

Store personnel are generally incompetent; Whenever I call to ask if they have an item that a manufacturer says they carry, I end up talking to 5 different people; None of the people know where to find the item; I have found items on several occasions but it generally takes 15 to 20 minutes of searching, often because I asked and an employee sent me in the wrong direction.

Its not clean when you return the bottles they dont have no set time for the guys to come in and clean up that is too sticky and slippery in winter and they should do better and sometimes they have outdated on 74 to some of the people in there as employees they dont disrespect people and which the manager some of the men just didnt look

Run of the mill stop and shop. In my experience the stores are all clean and the prices are OK. This one is no exception. The only major caveat is do NOT go there around the first of the month when food stamps are distributed. The store does NOT have enough staff on those days and there are ALWAYS long lines and wait time.

while the store has all that stop and shop offers what does it say about it that it has to have on duty hartford police officers in the store 24/7 . there were not enough express registers open, the store employees are rude and the managers havent a clue. about the only good thing i can say is theres a peoples bank there

We have bought flowers at this Stop & Shop location for both our daughters weddings, their baby showers and engagement parties. Great prices on ultra fresh custom ordered flowers and arrangements. Surprised? Dont be. Try it - youll like it.

Item rung up wrong price and cashier says the price right here on package, there was a sign that said it was 3.74 not 4.99, when manager checked it was on sale then he stated because I didnt pay for it at the rung up price it wasnt free.

My place to always do my groceries. Awesome pricing on meats, very affordable. Fresh bread every day that I go, nice and hot.(In the mornings) Very busy store. Wide selection on all natural foods. Bigger than others I visit.

Service is horrible. The store does not clean refrigerators. When you open up the milk refrigerator. It has a strong stench of expired milk. The staff is very rude. I recommend just going to a different store
