Gary Rome and his staff live by Garys words that it doesnt cost any extra to be nice. Last month my wife and I had a double dilemma. The engine in her Mazda had a substantial knock. The Mazda dealership determined the vehicle was inoperable do to a bad rod bearing. Hours later my wife took my Ford Expedition to work and was rear ended causing major damage to both the rear and front of the vehicle. The truck needed to be in the shop for 10 days for repair. We needed a vehicle quickly. We researched for a few days and determined the Kia Soul would fit our needs and budget. On a Sunday during a Pats game I called a few dealerships more convenient to me. I did not feel comfortable with any of my conversations. Not a single person spoke to me about anything but the vehicle and the price. All the folks I spoke with would not quote anything over the phone. They wanted me to schedule an appointment. I already knew what I wanted and knew I would be pressed for time so I wanted to make the deal today. I knew Enfield would be terribly inconvenient for me but I decided to jump on the Gary Rome Kia website. I noticed they had a car with the color and features we were looking for. I asked someone on the website to give me a call. I am thrilled that I did. I was called within 2 minutes by Bill Maki Jr. Bill Maki Jr. was not your typical salesperson. He asked where I was calling from. When I explained I was from Chicopee, we reminisced for about 5 minutes. We both learned we knew many of the same people. I felt very comfortable speaking to Bill and told him what I would like to pay for the vehicle. He explained that my price may be doable and asked that I speak to his Dad Bill Maki, the Vice President. Bill Sr in a very calm voice explained how much they wanted my business and promised I will be treated Presidentially at their dealership. He gave me a very fair deal. I decided to give a deposit over the phone and was told the vehicle would be ready for pickup Monday afternoon. When we arrived on Monday, we were greeted by Bill Jr. and given a tour of the building and service center. We met Bill Sr and had a candid conversation about their upcoming trip to Jamaica. Jack, the financial manager, was very personable as well. They made me and my wife feel like family. Always being pressed for time, I typically dread the car buying process but need to tell you that my experience with Gary Rome Kia from start to finish was exceptional. They say the true testament to customer service is how the customer is treated after the sale...I found a major error on the invoice that could have been a grave misunderstanding on my part. The issue was handled tactfully and professionally which is why I will not hesitate to recommend Gary Rome. Truth is...It does not cost any extra to be nice. Being nice, just earned a lifetime customer. Thank You For Everything. Regards, Todd M Demers

I have never written a poor review before but this experience was just unbelievable; if I treated my customers like I was treated Id have been out of business in 6 months. Never even got my 2014 soul home from Kia Enfield before I had a breakdown on 91 N @ exit 15.during pm rush hour. A loud shuddering noise from the left front end turned out to be broken shield. When I called Enfield. I was told to get a tow . I crept off the highway and went slowly over the Holyoke dealership which I knew was very close and I expected to be taken care of there. Not so. I was sent on my way. Again, that loud shuddering noise. Pulled into a side St., called Enfield again. They called Holyoke and sent me back there. Reluctantly and with much chagrin the person did put the car up on a lift, which was all I had requested in the first place. There was the problem so I knew, at least, what it was. I took he car home carefully, exhausted and with not one person from either dealership giving me a simple apology. Although my salesman gave me a voucher for a free MA. sticker if I went to the Holyoke facility, I decided to get the car inspected as Ma. requires it be done by 7 days date of purchase; I live in Northampton, MA.and did not want to drive the car anymore than needed. I also was told that if I want to another dealer my $35 sticker fee would be refunded. Sunday pm I brought the car in to be fixed noticing that my salesman, whom I had emailed, was not there. Monday pm I went in to get the car still my salesman was not there. I had told the Kia service people I had left a copy of my receipt for the sticker for reimbursement and a paper with some issues and questions I had in the console. The console was never opened. none of my concerns were addressed. I noticed again my salesman not there. I decided to leave and stop at the Holyoke place on the way home to talk this over with a fresh person. It seems that my salesman in Enfield had quit. My car had a sticker, they knew he was gone, why did they not bother to at the least give me my refund? I got my refund in Holyoke. A salesman there did apologize. A front desk clerk at Holyoke was most helpful as well. I have not used names I have a higher moral value than to do that. but also, I did email Gary Rome and have not heard from hi; if I do I will be more specific. All things considered, I can not in good conscious recommend this dealer to anyone. I am a returning customer, too! This is sad to have to do.

If youre looking for a wholly unprofessional and unpleasant car buying experience, I would recommend Gary Rome Kia. For anything else, I would recommend running far, far away. From the moment I set foot in this dealership, the experience was poor. The salesman, Sam, was disorganized, and unprofessional in all aspects, all the way down to asking if my father needed to come make the decision for the car that my mother and I were purchasing, because apparently anatomy is the deciding factor in ones ability to purchase a vehicle. After we made the sale, they left us to wait for the car, promising that it would be ready that day. After two hours, they finally told me that it would not be ready for two days. A complete waste of time. When I finally got the car, they left me to drive around for two weeks without a title, registration, or inspection sticker, with a different lie every time they were asked when those would be provided. They only offered me a loaner car after I was pulled over for my lack of sticker and registration. When I got my loaner, the circle of sleaze continued. I had the car for two weeks while they "worked on it", during which time they put 500 miles on my car, and posted it for sale on their website, complete with pictures taken after I was given the loaner, as evidenced by my radio presets, mileage, and receipts on the floor. If you are looking for a dealership that will be a hassle every step of the way, congratulations, you have found your place. Also, I received this email from the salesman who sold me the car, in a continuance of unprofessionalism: Dear Danielle It has come to my attention that you are displeased with your experience with me and this dealership. Hopefully that displeasure dose not extend to your car. I have long ago learned that it is not possable to please everyone. However it has always been my goal to make sure the client is happy with the product. If you are I consider the experence a plus, if you are not my suggestion would be to trade the car as soon as possible in that it woll only continue to bring up bad feelings. You should be able to get a great trade on the car because you did buy it at a Great price. I hope you dont take offense but I will not be using your story in my testomials as I feel you have some hosilities that will not help in referals. I wish you a great life and good luck in the future. Sam
