Horrible. I have lived a short mile from this store for 14 years and after the first year or so of NEVER having a positive experience, I avoided it at all cost and opted for Wal Mart, King Soopers or Target... Well, during holiday prep, I was pressed for time and had guests and figured I would give it another shot. FAIL!!!! I needed one (1) head of cabbage. Went to the produce section and saw a sign above the cabbage that said "Everyday Low Price $00.69 ---- Usually $00.89." OK, not sure how "everyday" price is lower than "usual, but whatever... So I grabbed a head, went to the self checkout (because the only 2 open lines were both 4 customers deep) and entered the code. Guess what? My cabbage came up as $2.49 PER POUND!!!! I asked the checker what gives and she was very rude in saying that I MADE A MISTAKE by grabbing the organic BS.... Whatever. I went back and asked the produce guy how much the cabbage was... He said it was 69 cents PER POUND. What gives, the sign says 69 cents??? At closer look, the "per pound" written on the sign was hidden under the plastic holder that the held the sign. Do yourself a favor and avoid this joke of a store. Horrible. NEVER had a positive experience and after 14 years, they were quick to make sure that at least my experience was ALWAYS CONSISTENT... Consistently TERRIBLE!

This store is a delight to shop! Its spacious, clean, and well staffed, and beautifully appointed as grocery stores go. The management really knocks itself out trying to please the public with the great Safeway customer service, store brands, and the lowest sale prices on popular items. The meat department will drop everything to cut up beef bone-in short ribs for me on the spot. The produce is always a picture perfect display of the freshest fruits and vegetables. This past Thanksgiving we ordered the Turkey Holiday dinner. It was outstanding, affordable, and ready on that day for my pick-up, when it was convenient for me. How unfortunate for "Ol Gom" to have had a one bad experience here, and tell the world about it. The employees work very hard to give customers the best shopping experience at this particular store. Ive been shopping there for over 20 years, and it is the best store in town.

I recently visited this particular store for the first time. I initially was shopping for strawberries. I did not buy any strawberries because literally every package was moldy! I ended up grabbing a block of Lucerne pepper jack cheese & a tub of Lucerne sour cream. I got home to start dinner, opened up the block of pepper jack cheese and there was mold covering the top of the block - like furry, green mold! Disgusting! I looked at the package and it expired in APRIL! What in the world?! I also opened the Lucerne sour cream tub and it expired in May. So disappointing. I used to live close to a Safeway that I really liked, I am now aware that not all Safeways are created equal.

Used to love Safeway, now their customer service just going down the "HILL"....They used to hire a older lady Rhonda (headclerk or something), and she used to station at Safeway Ken Pratt store, bad attitude towards her customer, then, I chosen to shop at Safeway Hover and then having Mary Jane Safeway Hover is not helping as well, she is rude often, and is always rude to other customers. Now I shop in Safeway Pace and 17th street, and have to face the mean spirited old Rhonda again. I am considering bringing my business to Walmart and Target. Dont understand why Safeway keep hiring workers with mean spirits like Mary Jane and Rhonda Safeway Pace Street.

Absolutely disgusting bathrooms. Ive been in out houses that didnt smell that bad. No soap or paper towels so you know the employees dont wash their hands. I told an employee in a yellow vest about it and she truly didnt care, she actually asked me if i wanted to use the bathroom upstairs, i told her, no someone should clean the bathroom and stock it, she told me thats not her job. Im from out of town and will never shop at Safeway. I left the groceries in the cart without buying them.

I used to work at this Safeway and to all you people who say Mary JEAN (by the way) is a mean person or "spirit" are lying. She is kind and very helpful, her English isnt perfect but everyone loves her. She was the best manager I have ever had. Also keep in mind she is a manager so when dumb people like you try to get away with things that arent correct and have to be showed whats right because of your negligence, she will tell you off and teach you a few lessons on how to be smart.

Mary Jane a cashier was extremly rude!. she would toss the bags and when i checked the eggs when i got to the car some of them were broken . i didnt even bother going back because she was the only cashier and i didnt want to deal with her again. on the other hand the guy that stocks the shelves at night was very helpful and always knew were to find the products and didnt mind

I was just looking for stamps and everybody and their boss was pissy. I was like chill dude. Asked this big guy that was a cashier hey do you know where the stamps are and he was like I dont know go ask somebody else. Waited in line for 15 minutes then the guy said that Im like really. I like the Safeway on alpine st a lot nicer.

The service is always fantastic Mary Jean is a great manager now so I dont know why everybody says she is rude the only thing I dont like is that the store is going downhill fast nobody is doing their jobs correctly it seems and the shelves are always low and the people who do know whats happening cant fix our problems

Totally agreed with ol gom review. I am not sure why Safeway continue to hire rude people like Mary Jane, she seemed very unhappy and very rude to most costumer, I usually avoid her checkout lane as she is very confrontational. I dont think she is a manager, but she sure act like one.

More times than not I find at least one item I grab or am looking for is part date/moldy/in some other way bad. The other day there were fruit flies all through the donut case. The people are friendly, but I wouldnt go here if it wasnt right by my house.

I like the meat department - good selection, prices, and helpful staff. Deli closes too early and cuts too thick. Difficult to persuade them to cut thin or shave. Deli and Meat department close too early. Often out of things, especially milk and cream.

We live pretty close to this Safeway. For the most part this Safeway is nice. However, they do not always carry items that you would expect a grocery store of this size to carry. I do like how this Safeway rarely feels crowded or overburdened.

This is my normal grocery store. I usually go during the weekdays when its better stocked. Usually quick checkout. Only issues is produce is more expensive the Luckys or Sprouts. It would be they were more competitive in produce pricing
